Glad you are enjoying it! Thinking about expanding into this sort of format for the podcast too, once we get out of the bible and into Assyria in a few months. Takes a bit more work, but it is a bit nicer.
Yes, probably. We don't have a confirmed family link, but Sethnakht was probably a grandson of Ramesses II, making Ramesses III a great-grandson. There are some who argue Sethnakht was from a completely independent family line, and they are not just crazy people, but I think linking them is a bit more of a common view nowadays, and the one I personally hold. I just skipped over the controvery to keep the vid streamlined,
He himself claimed his father was Sethnakht, son of Sutekh. See Harris Papyrus 1 for that. I have not seen any actual source for the Son of Ramesses claim. I did look, but I could have missed a citation.
@entirelyalive When it mentions Sutech as the father of Setnakhte, it is speaking of the Neter ( Deity ) Set. Because Set is the one who empowered Setnakhte. It is a term of endearment, not one of genealogy. Ramesses 3 is recorded as the youngest son of Ramesses 2 at the Ramesseseum. Again, excellent video my friend.
Another good example of this is the 17th and 18 Dynasties. Ahomse I the Founder of the 18th Dynasty was the son of King Seqenenre Tao and brother of King Kamose of the 17th Dynasty. Then I heard theories that Thutmose I was not blood related to Ahmose and Amenhotep I and could been adopted as an heir of Amenhotep I or marrying in.
Been listening to the show for ages - the production value on this was really nice! You deserve a greater following, keep it up!

@@entirelyalive Yeah! I do think that the added time and work would be worth it, even if it meant the uploads wouldn't be quite as frequent.
Sethnakht is a unplayable faction. He is the only faction besides Merneptah that is unplayable but named after a person.
So sethnakht was the founder of the 20th dynasty and related to ramesses the great?
