The value to have a digital edition is not just to save money on the drive. To get people locked in to the Playstation store for new games is huge for them, in savings and revenue direct to Sony. 2:08:40

Overly hyped persona paid off by the marketing department.
I don't understand all this excitement and hype, like what? There was literally nothing groundbreaking about this. All the games that were shown look like something I could play on my PC today, a couple of years ago even. There is no "generational leap" here. It's the same as every year, consoles trying to catch up to current hardware, and games looking the same as ever. Literally the only interesting thing was how sleek the PS5 box looked. Otherwise, looks like another disappointing generation. Some interesting games, but the console itself is disappointing.
I don't think you understand how game development works. This is a huge leap for consoles, which will also help PC, because most devs develop to console first, to make sure it can run it, and then make a PC port. This will only help lift that bar. Just that they finally have SSD is great. And then there is the whole, "it's so much esier to develop to specific specs compared to the PCs millions of configurations" that is not to be ignored.
@@Elidan1012 I understand perfectly how modern game development works. All too well. I will say it again because you don't seem to have understood the first time: Again, I don't care how huge of a leap is that for consoles. We already have all this tech available and more. I am speaking from a perspective of a person who has a PC that is stronger than this new generation will be, and I had it for almost 2 years now. Sony and Microsoft consoles have always been, and probably will always be, just handicapped PCs. There is nothing to be excited about from my perspective other than the games. The hardware is, as always, disappointing. Seems like Nintendo is the only company that wants to make their consoles stand out. I'll take interesting hardware over a handicapped PC any day. Will it help PC gaming? Yes, of course it will. That's because most of the companies are lazy and make a game for a console first and then make a port of it, while hiding behind the convenient excuse of "it's easier to do". Of course it's easier, but what it also means is a worse end product because you're working with inferior hardware and are bound to it's limitations. If more devs made high profile PC games, then everything that was shown on that presentation would've already been possible to be made 2 or more years ago. But, since that's not how it is nowadays, we're forced to wait for the new generation of the consoles to see another leap in game quality. So, please stop using the same pathetic excuse all those companies use to hide their laziness. We have small, independent dev teams that make games for PC first, don't even try to claim those big companies can't do it right because "it's too hard". What an absolute joke. Your comment reads as if I should be happy and excited about it. Why? That two companies decided it's time to make a new, handicapped PC for all the lazy companies that don't want to make proper PC games? That we're finally going to see what games could look and play like if they were properly developed for kind of hardware that was available a couple of years ago? That's exactly why I am disappointed and why I roll my eyes every generation instead of being excited. I am disappointed video games are getting held back by lazy companies and terrible industry trends.
@@RiskOfBaer so you are the 0.1%, good for you. Level design is still a huge limiter. You can't develop to a high end PC without having a regular HDD console in mind, until now. That is not lazy, that is being a good business. Getting as much out of the work you're doing as possible. And yes, you could choose to be happy, because it does not matter if your PC can run a game on 120+ fps, if the game is still designed for consoles, and therefore limited by that design. Your PC specs is irrelevant for why this is great news. The fact you think it's a lazy excuse to say it's easier to develop for closed hardware casts doubt on your first statement.
@@RiskOfBaer "If more devs made high profile PC games, then everything that was shown on that presentation would've already been possible to be made 2 or more years ago" Aren't there lots of teams that develop purely and only for PC (maybe im wrong)? What's preventing them from making groundbreaking PC ONLY games using all the much more stronger pc hardware available to them since forever. Is it budget? they could kickstart it, is it hardware limitations? can't be it , pc has so many cpu, gpu, ssd etc to choose from. If there are actually several games like that already out (again for pc only so no limitations) that's great, if not doesn't that mean that pc games are also, in one way or another, held back by the unwillingness of pc dev to fully use (and im not talking about % usage when ppl monitor temps etc..) the myriad of hardware at their disposal? legit curious

Lol. Who cares how games look on PC. We’re talking about console generation leap.
@@RiskOfBaer "If more devs made high profile PC games, then everything that was shown on that presentation would've already been possible to be made 2 or more years ago"
Aren't there lots of teams that develop purely and only for PC (maybe im wrong)?
