Coop, did Hannah cut the Island as others had done? I waded Newport Pass and Packery Pass after Hurricane Carla to see Bob Hall Pier. Those were previously closed. Other hurricanes cut Padre way down the beach later. I had caught about 30 tarpon in the sixties on BHP but there was not enough left of it to stand on if you had a ladder to get up there.
If you think that redfish was something, go out on a yellow fin head trip some time. They take blue striped (mackeral) colored diamond shaped Sumo jigs. Or Yummies, plastic flyingfish, or live flying fish (bring your cast net). And your bigger casting reels with fifty or sixty lb flourocarbon over 65 lb Power Pro is about right. WHEN a YFT hits it is like a stick of dynamite went off. And you can grill it to perfection with the center 1/3 still pink.

Great video man !! definitely pre hurricane. We got about 3 feet of water pushed into our bays from the hurricane, and the tides are just now almost normal/regular high tide. I fished yesterday and today in the corpus christi area and it was still pretty high. This video is a low tide that we haven't had since bf the hurricane.
Gotta hit the marsh for the tournaments man, the big girls stay there! Got 2nd at the last saltwater redfish series tournament for the first time 🤙🏼 with almost 15lbs. We got lucky lol 😂.. look forward to seeing you out there buddy!
you are definitely allowed to use drones here in florida you can even fish with the drone as long as the line detaches from the drone and you fish with your reel after the bite.

That looks like where I usually launch. If so last time I fished the area I was able to sight cast a bunch. Had best luck on doa shrimp vs paddle tails and spoons. Looks like the water was too murky for sight casting where you were.

It would be so awesome in my opinion if there could be a tournament which includes Solo skiffs, Bote Rovers, Hero Skiffs etc.,. One man skiffs with outboards, mini boats..... & that sort of thing. it would be interesting IMO.
