I dip my thread ends into the crazy glue tubes. (Or drag through a tiny drop of it.) Then quickly before it dries, using a piece of paper (or something to protect my fingers,) I pull it through to straighten and get the excess glue off. (Repeat if not stiff enough) It works great! For the thicker threads I unravel/separate the thread strands and cut them parallel to the thead, creating a taper/point. Then I twist them back together and dip them into the crazy glue, wax, etc. It basically creates a needle tip. With leather cord, I use a scalpel to very carefully create a taper as well. I find that twisting as I put the beads on can help too...but unfortunately when the darn bead is tight, it damages the finish on the leather cord as I pull it through. It seems that the perfect bead is always just a tad too tight!! Lol Any ideas on how to re-condition the leather cord? Sometimes my nice leather lace/cord will end up looking more like suede. Do you know what they put on the leather to create that waxy smooth finish? Is it a wax of some kind? I love your tutorials btw. I linked here from your webpage tutorial...which I linked to through a pinterest photo! :-) I don't even remember exactly what I was originally looking for...Probably inspiration mostly! Which I got! Thank you!
Hi Alana, I've tried crazy glue too - but I always get it on my fingers. The gum arabic is great because you got a nice stiff needle and don't need to worry about gluing yourself to anything. Thank you for sharing your technique in detail. I haven't had that issue with leather, but maybe a leather conditioner or wax like you would use on shoes or boots would help? I'm glad you enjoyed you search from pinterest to website to youtube. It's always fun to spend time chasing ideas. Thanks for stopping by! Lisa

What is the glue you are using? There is no subtitles. Ty
