Thnx for the demo. It's refreshing to see a player demo p/u 's in a clean tone.

Nice demo! And yes I’m surprised they were very similar. In fact of all i preferred the overdriven sound if the 67 at the neck.

The DiMarzio area pickups sound fantastic with 500K pots. They are actually stacked single coils AKA humbuckers.
I have a DiMarzio area set in my guitar and I'm running 500k volume and tone I think they make a huge difference. They won't sound dead at all. I honestly have the hardest time telling the difference between my fender player strat and the DiMarzio pickups.

while making this comparison video I've realized how great these DiMarzios actually are :)

Agreed! I run all my Area with 500k pots and it really opens them up.
They are humbuckers after all and the 500k opens them up a bit

Gotta give credit to the Dimarzios. They sound really close to these BKP traditional single coils!

You sound like you are impersonating Arnold Schwarzenegger XD Great demo, I like dimarzio more tbh.

I'm glad you liked the demo :) I'm Austrian, like Arnold. But I might try a Werner Herzog impression next time ;)

Nice demo and really nice guitar. Surprised the Dimarzio hung in there with the BKP. The single coils are definitely a little more percussive but otherwise pretty close!

Thanks for this, it must have been a lot of work! To my ear, the dimarzios seemed cooler, which surprised me.

thank you. The dimarzios were a big suprise :) I kept them and will definitely install them in another guitar in the future.

the virtual solo is too hot to match with those i would recommend the dimarzio dp402 bridge with area 61's in middle, neck. i have tested various combinations of pickups from dimarzio this is my best result.

The guitar is beautiful! I placed an order for a custom made strat myself yesterday.

Since I've switched to Dimarzio Area strats I have sold my Don Mare set, Lollar dirty Blonde and Duncan Antiquity hot. The Areas sound just as good as some and almost as good as the Mares. But, no hum which is amazing. Here, they are a no brainer for me also. Barenickles sound great. But so do the Dimarzios, and they are noisless. I have Area 61,67,67

    •  Год назад +1

Dimarzio really got it right with these. In a future telecaster build I'm planning to try out the Dimarzio Area T pickups. I also have Duncan Antiquity Tele pickups to compare them to. Right now I'm thinking nothing can beat the Antiquities, but I'll see :)

Are you using the Area 67 in the neck + middle position as split single coils or do you use them in full stack mode?

    •  17 дней назад

@@stjepanherceg7365 in full stack mode, I have never tried splitting the noiseless dimarzio singles

The Bareknuckle pickups have more of a scoop in the midrange. I prefer the Dimarzios.

I wonder had this dude not shown which set was which and asked us to guess which set was used, how many of us would have guessed correctly? The average listener wouldn’t care, it’s us gear heads that do.

it sounds probably because of the block saddles instead of bent saddles, 2 post bridge might be it as well but i doubt it. try a zinc block with a bent steel saddles. with brass fulll block saddles it sounds middier than a regular strat, even to a squier

    •  4 года назад

that's a good idea. I did have graphtech string saver saddles before. Putting the brass saddles on was a step in the right direction. So the final step might be, as you say, the bent steel saddles and a zinc block. Thank you :)

Great demo. I love the colour match between the red flame maple top and the "vintage pearl" pickguard.

Dude you sound exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  • @eyedunno8462
    @eyedunno8462 3 года назад

Don't think they sounded same at all. BKP sound both dryer and more refined, slight attenuation in the low end and highs, almost studio-eq going on probably due to the somewhat compressing nature of the Alnico 3 magnets. But DiMarzio I could see being more useful for gigging musician where you can have 90% of 'that' tone but noiseless function - that is HUGE benefit where most single coils would be absolutely unusable without serious noise killing racks

Do you 500k pots in your guitar or 250?

250k because they're all single coils
