- After having to replace the lift pump on my 300tdi engine, I decided to pull the old one apart, to see how it ticks.

I watched a video and it said that if the cam is in a certain position lifting the lever high, the prime won't work.
Good old LandRover...My LT35 has a VE pump and no lift pump.....having just done the fuel filter it did manage to 'prime' the injectors (obviously by undoing the first HP injector coupler to bleed the air).....Great little video..... (Angle Grinder 1 Dremel 0..)
Edit @ 12:12 on further thought... this is also a diesel drain to help prevent diesel filing the engine sump should the diaphragm fail.
Delphi pump has screw on top to access a filter. Think this type was standard on some 300tdi Disco models.
Hi
If I attach a clear pipe to the lift pump inlet and place that into a 5li diesel container. Should the hand primer pull fuel up? When turning the key over, should the mechanical pump then also draw fuel up from the container. Mine does neither. Would this indicate a faulty lift pump. Thanks
Every hill is long and tedious in a proper Landrover👍
Michael Langford very true
love the angle grinder versus the dremill
Iv just ordered one one for mine it's flat in mornings
Do you know if the new pumps come with the b-nuts or do you just swap them off your old pump?
Most new pumps come with them
Fourby ok. Because when I see them in the pictures, I don’t see the nuts. Do they come with nuts and the little brass ferrules that clamp it all together?
@@jeremylakenes6859 just check with your supplier, they usually do
