Hmm, Hermann Hesse is a favourite of mine, his writing about nature and childhood is very vivid. I dont know if it's translated well though. But if you want to try I'd recommend Narcissus and Goldmund. If you're reading in english i'd recommend Clarice Lispector or James Baldwin. Keep reading :)
