When he says, "my wife has pie in the oven" and then they slowly show a bluberry pie scented candle. I had a similar reaction as the character. That part sent shivers down my spine.
The only thing I didn’t (really) catch was the candle until I was editing, I was like “ohhhh- there’s no pie.” When I said “what’s up with the candle?’ I didn’t catch at first that she caught on to the fact that he was bluffing about a legitimate pie. I dead-ass just assumed dude really liked blueberry pie that he had the candle going as well 🤷 So I guess I just expected a different reveal. Fun suspenseful scene once I caught it though!
