I should have known you'd be one of the only RUclipsr's to handle the situation reasonably and with compassion and education rather than getting defensive. I also am not upset in the same way some other people are about the hairstyle (I do agree it could have been left out and the video and homage would have been just as lit) but way more upset about the way I see some people getting treated and bashed on the internet just for expressing the fact that they felt hurt by it. Of course there are also haters who were gleeful to have an excuse to try to drag BTS but there are also people who are already often marginalized and ignored when they air their grievances about race who wanted to have a real discussion about it but we're getting shut down by fans. Again you're awesome as usual thanks for staying up to give us a great reaction!

3 languages in 1 song and so diverse plus giving credit to the dances. That’s why people love bts and BigHit because they give people credit and they are diverse not like America artists
Here’s Becky G’s verse: Chicken noodle or chicken with spaghetti, None of these women have the flow that Becky has, Latin American I’m from here, Face of an angel but I’m freaky, who’s goin to tell me, if I’ve seen everything, where I was born they didn’t think a woman could excel
As a black person, I personally saw no issues with Hobi’s hair. I think we have a habit of taking appropriation claims a bit too far. As an ethnicity, we do not own the rights to any hairstyle. Period. Dreads, twists, and braids go back to the beginning of all civilizations and every single culture has documented proof off these hairstyles being a part of their history. Given that the video was a homage to hip hop culture from the time of the original song....those styles were extremely common all over the world. It’s not fair to say that someone is trying to associate with being black just because of a hair style, especially when I know for a fact that hair doesn’t define a person. BTS rap line has been in the hip hop game since they were kids so the culture is legit something they grew up with. They aren’t in it for the fame....hip hop is what made them who they are. You don’t have to be black for that. The video was done in a hella respectful manner and I tip my hat to HobiG for the love that they showed to their roots.
I really don't get why people are mad it just makes me so angry that people take it in a negative way I think people are way too sensitive because it's not like we don't copy other cultures we are not born with straight hair or came up with those hairstyles but people put wigs, extensions and relaxers and do hairstyle exactly like theirs than white people should be mad too. A person should do whatever they want with their hair if someone likes a style they should be able to do it and if someone does what is done in my culture I see it as someone loving and appreciating it. And now jhope should worry about this now really, I mean come on.
I get why people would be upset about his hair but I think it's all about intent and if they are being ignorant. These boys work hard to not offend people. J Hope and Suga stayed up all night to rewrite the lyrics to their set list for America to not include the Korean word niga/naega because they knew how it would sound to Americans and that's not who they are. If you think these boys don't respect other cultures and other people then just like those people who DO appropriate other cultures, you're uneducated.
It's so sad that thry had to do that change. Like nigga in many different languages don't mean black person. Only in English. So in a way Americans in the music and radio industry are ignorant. Censoring that word can confuse those who can understand Korean. So honestly it's just sad
Finally someone said it! It's like some people sit in their rooms with a coffee, watching the mv repeatedly just to find something that can be considered as "offensive". Funny how those who complain don't even give a damn about the culture.
@@anti_fascist yeah like for example nigga is in english. But a word in another language such as Afrikaans, kuifer is the same derogatory word. Just in a different language. Nigga will never mean the same thing in many different languages and I think more people should be aware of that just so there isn't any mix ups when listening to something that they might not know and that they shouldn't react and say "they're being racist!".
I would get it a bit if it were cornrows or smth but twists are a completely different thing. I'm part Skandinavian and Viking used to wear their hair in twists too and no one knows who did it first anyway. Maybe it was the Egyptians. Wtf cares. It's not like People's Hair makes a big difference here. Where I live are a Ton of white or Asian people with dreads, twists and cornrows and a lot of black people with blonde, straight hair. No one gives a shit.
Bottom line: giving credit where credit is due for the entire cast of dancers when so many other artists would have kept them as anonymous props-say whatever you want about Hobi’s twists, he, Becky, and Big Hit are not just paying homage to their exposure to the culture, but to individual people in the community. When is the last time you saw that in an MV? That’s appreciation down to the person. In a musical tradition that is problematic as hell about taking others down, Hope and Becky took the positive spirit of Chicken Noodle Soup and pushed it forward to uplift all the folks involved. As for the twists? Maybe more a stylistic “don’t” than a reason to attack someone who’s legitimately in the game and has a history of repping his own culture and paying respect to those he’s inspired by.
There was so much positive energy in this music video and song, I’m so proud of him. It was amazing!!! I also completely agree with what you said at the end, it’s just something to be aware of

He got on twists which EVERYONE rocked with in the 90’s and 2000’s. These ain’t full on braids, cornrows, boxbraids, etc. For the haters, anti’s, and ignorant, they’ll try to start backlash, but he is just paying homage to the original song as well as his childhood. You really thing BigHit would allow a cultural mistake NOW?? Maybe back then bc they were ignorant, but they know what they’re doing. I really liked this reaction video and how you addressed the twitter hair issue at the end. A few people I follow were really mad and I saw a divide on my feed saying gel twists is fine and then seeing from others that its really not. I personally do see it as a homage to the era of the song, but I do also respectfully acknowledge why people are also upset by it. If people have a problem with it then they have a right to voice their concerns. But let's also remember that he wouldn't do this to be "problematic" like some people have voiced on twitter. And he loves and adores hiphop and hiphop culture. It's part of who he is. Stay hydrated guys~
This was a awesome video. JHope’s dancing was incredible and so full of energy! His singing so great with the beat. Becky G so pretty, great singer, dancer. The cars in the background were unbelievable. The community of dancers/singers were great also. On a scale of 10 I gave it a 10.

anthony too Idk 😂 it's pretty random i'll even be getting bts mv ads for your videos or like fancams of my bias and i don't dare to skip , it's mostly during promotion times
I am black American and have no issue with how it was portrayed. Straight out racism and mocking of blacks like blackface or saying racist things if were I would have an issue. I also happen to be open-minded enough to give opportunity and time for someone to be educated and learn what is appropriate. Then give them an opportunity to act more appropriate in the future. I might be a bit bias with J-hope but for the past three years almost four years I have watched these boys and I may not know them personally but I know their hearts, therefore, I know no ill will was intended. Thanks for the reaction.
About the hair: 1)I think when it comes to the hair an important thing to think about is cultural context. American artists have some exposure to these issues surrounding appropriating black culture because they grew up here. When they appropriate, it's often seen as a blatant disregard since they likely know it exists. However, in Hobi's case the struggle of African American's being barred from jobs because of their hair but nonblack artists using it as a stylistic choice is not something his would be as familiar with (not excusing ignorance, just stating why). 2) When I saw that it wasn't actual dreads or braids I was initially relieved, but I understand it looks like he's trying to imitate that look so I get why it still bothers people despite not technically being appropriation. 3) That being said, I think people's intentions matter. He was trying to pay homage to a song that was his first taste of street dance. His main look during the video isn't a caricature of black hiphop culture, which was what I was afraid of. The hair was unnecessary, but I don't think it's a felony lmao. I think it was close to crossing a line, but I'm happy we're all open to dialogue and educating the boys as opposed to blindly defending or rashly canceling.
Jhope was really in his element here. He was dancing and rapping from the heart and having a blast. And being with all of those incredibly talented dancers, he’s with his peeps y’all👏😂 And Becky G with her natural swag and Spanish verse. ¡Latina para siempre!
It's really cute seeing Jhope in his element. This was a good collab. Plus watching Jhope dance just made me smile so widely. They meshed well as well. Btw thanks for the background info at the start. I've been trying to find info but didn't. So now I have more context thanksssss 💜
Oh yeaa ! this 'JHope & Becky G "Chicken noodle soup" it's viral on YT right now. Loved it also in US - with what happened - this is like not just 'Spanish + Korea' but mixed - 'all race's that's make it beautiful all in one' togetherness ;))
i loved the song, i’ve had it stuck in my heart all day. the video is awesome and loved the dance and dancers. everything was so j-hope, also it was great seeing hoseok in his element? how passionate he is with dancing
I swear I look forward to your reactions the most because you’re seriously honest and an actual genuine reactor. And thank you for the insight on the situation.
Your interest about the pants he is wearing: 99%IS is a korean brand, it got super popular after american rappers wore the pieces, but because its korean Hobi maybe even know him personally (the owner Bajowoo) or just likes his style BUT ALSO I AM HUGE FAN OF HIS BRAND TOO SO WASSUP 💜
I really appreciate you sharing background on the song before you started reacting, as well as your perspecrives at the end. You seem like a really well-rounded person. Great reaction!
awwwy you miss seeing the zepplin saying GO JHOPE! like aw i almost sobbed during that scene. but gosh i love this duo and the song! Jhope looks so happy doing this because it's his childhood song and i know it was really meaningful :(
I never knew that before i was born a song has existed which was named that way, so it was a little weird for me to see that a song was called Chicken Noodle Soup, but i can see how much this song means to Becky and JHope. This song is my new obsession and Earworm i love this song so much oml.
As a woman of color and a dred head. I dont care about the gel twist. But as a style I hate it. Jhope so handsome why did they do that to his hair? Anyway i like the song and the video.
@@beluuzzz they pay for the homage ofc they have to give the old vibes and to credit the origin and roots of the song , gelled twist are popular in that time
Even though, i really don't understand the complains of those who complained, i still respcet them for their opinions and i knew how jhope / Bts are very respectful and does things that what inspired them, that is why i am confident that jhope don't have bad intention wearing that hairstyle (even if it twisted or a dread) 💜 i don't want to let some statement slip from me without knowing what, how, and why and i am not in the right foot to do so, I hope jhope wouldn't feel bad that he wore that hairstyle💜😊
I really honestly did try to find a reason to be upset about his hair at first... but after really thinking about it it's not locs nor is is supposed to represent locs. Gel twists were NEVER a representation of locs and I think that it's bad on our side for constantly assuming that these idols dont know better or are racist. We already have this horrible way of seeing them and immediately try to dissect them to find something bad. In this case I believe that's what was done... by alot of armys in attempt to look knowledgeable on the subject in the eyes of other fandoms
i appreciate a little backstory at the beginning before you proceed to the reaction coz it makes your reaction more wholesome also that first pause and i thought you were gonna hyped the setting or something but it was the pants haha love that!
Yeah, if it was an older time I’d completely understand the rage. But as times are changing we need to learn how to adapt and merge with others. Though I can understand people’s hurt, because of those who had these hairstyles and were ridiculed and now the hairstyles are praised when other races are wearing them. BUT! I think Hobi using this hairstyle in a music video that pays homage to the original BLACK artists, it just doesn’t seem like he’s out here disrespecting black people. But to each their own.
I loved the remake too i was in SHOCK 'cause I'm latim but ARMY with all my heart and i don't use to listen regional music... Becky is famous and I've heard her but i was not fan.... Well... This morning i was like oh no.... This is very good wow how can they do this match so well? And about the Hobi's heir girls need to relax don't pay attention please

JHOPE and Becky g Mv is a boppp i love the song btw i love your reaction , your my favourite youtuber. keep up with the good work😊
LMAO THAT IS ACTUALLY FIRE. how do y’all get whole mv’s as ads
anthony too Idk 😂 it's pretty random i'll even be getting bts mv ads for your videos or like fancams of my bias and i don't dare to skip , it's mostly during promotion times
Dude you’re so quick!! This was a whole BOP I’m so proud of Hobi!! Also Becky’s popped OFF
I am black American and have no issue with how it was portrayed.
You’re doing so well Anthony, keep going 💌😊
what am i doing well lol
I like how fun Hobi is.
IT IS SO CATCHY. IT IS 5am AND I AM STILL SINGING: I let it rain and clear it out. ♫
it's always been.. but now we're reminded of it.
btw, in a few words, Becky was talking about how they are SO much better than those haters
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I knew I would love it, so why am I surprised? They did worked so great together omg
J Hope so amazing!! I love him!!!! Perfect!! ❤❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷
Jhope was really in his element here. He was dancing and rapping from the heart and having a blast. And being with all of those incredibly talented dancers, he’s with his peeps y’all👏😂 And Becky G with her natural swag and Spanish verse. ¡Latina para siempre!
Man I can’t believe I woke up at 4am to listen to a song that’s around 4 mins and go back to sleep 💀 was it really worth it fuck yeah it was
Do you even understand how much I love it when you remark on the fashion???? Your reactions are so unique! Thank you, Anthony!
It's really cute seeing Jhope in his element. This was a good collab. Plus watching Jhope dance just made me smile so widely. They meshed well as well.
Btw thanks for the background info at the start. I've been trying to find info but didn't. So now I have more context thanksssss 💜
I just got a vision of #CNS on billboard or Grammy's stage while watching. I just can't wait for the awards season to happen. 😍😭💜
Oh yeaa ! this 'JHope & Becky G "Chicken noodle soup" it's viral on YT right now.
My love J-HOPE 😘😘😘😘😘
That's the reaction i wanted to see for his free style at the end😎🇵🇪🇵🇪
So glad this happened, they did so good and KILLED IT! (on a side note, my Latina self is EXTRA LOVIN’ THIS)
Wow, Hobi is so athletically talented he jumped on that car like it was nothing haha. The beat on this is such a Bop!
"I joke that I'm a bilingual but I have no idea what she's saying" lol it feels amazing to know what two of those languages say =)
I knew I could count on u for this istg
I swear I look forward to your reactions the most because you’re seriously honest and an actual genuine reactor. And thank you for the insight on the situation.
Me too, my favourite cause the reactions are genuine😊
i usually don’t laugh this early in the morning but that “i know he’s not head spinning on concrete” really got to me 😭😭😭😭
💜😎JHOPE 💜 Becky G
Your interest about the pants he is wearing: 99%IS is a korean brand, it got super popular after american rappers wore the pieces, but because its korean Hobi maybe even know him personally (the owner Bajowoo) or just likes his style BUT ALSO I AM HUGE FAN OF HIS BRAND TOO SO WASSUP 💜
I really appreciate you sharing background on the song before you started reacting, as well as your perspecrives at the end. You seem like a really well-rounded person. Great reaction!
JHope: ".....and SPRITE!" 😂👍💜
*LET'S GET IT LET'S GET IT* 🔥... Btw you're so Quick, thank You for your hard work! 💜
awwwy you miss seeing the zepplin saying GO JHOPE! like aw i almost sobbed during that scene. but gosh i love this duo and the song!
J-Dope
Ur reaction is always the best and jhope & Becky g really really amazing 🔥
I LOST IT when she hit The Chicken Head....mad hard
this MV was just so full of love, energy and respect! ppl need to chill the hell out.
I love the mix of dancers and that they got credits at the end. So. Cool!!!!
As a woman of color and a dred head. I dont care about the gel twist. But as a style I hate it. Jhope so handsome why did they do that to his hair? Anyway i like the song and the video.
Lol, yep same. Just a personal preference for me too
Really? I like it though , he's handsome in every hairstyle
@@beluuzzz they pay for the homage ofc they have to give the old vibes and to credit the origin and roots of the song , gelled twist are popular in that time
I feel the same. They looked kind of uncomfortable. 😭😭😭
Even though, i really don't understand the complains of those who complained, i still respcet them for their opinions and i knew how jhope / Bts are very respectful and does things that what inspired them, that is why i am confident that jhope don't have bad intention wearing that hairstyle (even if it twisted or a dread) 💜
i don't want to let some statement slip from me without knowing what, how, and why and i am not in the right foot to do so, I hope jhope wouldn't feel bad that he wore that hairstyle💜😊
I heard the title as well and thought huh but bro Jhope never disappoints and Becky G is a gangsta.
Hi from Brasil! We Love J-Hope
That is what we talking about - HOPE MAN & BECKY G'S that collab is perfect support all the way 👍
LMAO I ASKED ABOUT THE TRUCK REALLY DROPPING TOO
AYYY YOU'RE SO QUICKK
why do people keep saying this, i am anthony
Yeah, if it was an older time I’d completely understand the rage. But as times are changing we need to learn how to adapt and merge with others. Though I can understand people’s hurt, because of those who had these hairstyles and were ridiculed and now the hairstyles are praised when other races are wearing them. BUT! I think Hobi using this hairstyle in a music video that pays homage to the original BLACK artists, it just doesn’t seem like he’s out here disrespecting black people. But to each their own.
Wish this came out in summer it would’ve been one of the hottest songs
Yesss Anthony Jhope and Becky g went off 🔥🔥🔥🔥#nashpotatogang
