Very true. 3 to 5% means nothing, even Gold price double ur 3 to 5 % will be giving just a return of 3 to 5% of portfolio. Hope u have seen all Gold related videos of Alok sir that has in depth and crystal clear understanding of Gold vs nifty vs other country stock markets.
@ananda2k7 Yes I realised importance of gold when currency of srilanka depreciated, I don't remember but some other country in recent past has similar problem, only protection against all these adverse events presently seems to gold. It is protection against inflation also that what middle class want

Prima facie it seems to be good move of bringing Gold back to India. However, looking at the policies and the transparency demonstrated in last decade, i feel that our Gold was much safer in the UK itself. Now, We may never be able to trace it in future (like you mentioned about Texas, US) 🤞🏻

Alok Sir, kindly make a video on the following topic: I buy Gold ETF using HDFC Gold. So they need to keep physical gold to that value and that is subjected to Audit. This ensures my Gold ETFs is backed up by physical gold stored by Mirae or ICICI or HDFC whosoever gold etf I buy Kindly help. Thanks for this insightful video

Alok Ji, just one query regarding sanctions and holding gold outside. What happened to Indian gold holding when sanctions were applied in 1999 after nuclear test was done by India??
Hi Medhavi.. Gold held by central banks or national treasuries overseas is typically not "frozen" in the same way private assets might be during sanctions against a country. India's gold reserves are primarily held in secure, often untouchable, international vaults.
Physical gold is best if u r sure of safeguarding. Next best is ETF. But ETF can anytime be govt controlled if gold skyrockets in special conditions like war , emergency etc.
With your insights I doubt that when Central Banks reduce or stop buying Gold the rate of gold will not raise as seen now or will pause for some years. Sir, am I wrong?
Hello Alok, my gold allocation is around 11%. Can I make it 20%, is that okay or is that too high? What is your allocation percentage to gold in your personal networth?
Looks like BRICS Currency might be backed by Gold. And each country's share of the BRICS currency would be proportionally based on the gold reserves allocated towards this.
@AlokJain Interesting times are ahead of us. Things would depend on how badly China wants to move ahead in this direction. China's Central Bank is hoarding onto Gold like crazy. China is also the single largest holder of US Treasury Bills, which gives it leverage considering the record high levels of US Debts. What will US do if China starts to sell US Bills in the open market!?
@prabhathb3865 no idea I only shared the data point. I think people are over reacting over FII data anyways. The problem lies in the earnings of the top-10 companies in the Nifty 50. Top 10 stocks have been the laggards so far in this bull run and may continue to do so and eventually act as a cushion in case of major correction after April 2025. Bull run has reached it's peak and this window of consolidation is expected to remain in tact for next 5 years.
Revenue growth across sectors and industries looks in the range of 5-7% YoY, the slowest in four years. Large bellweather companies like Reliance Industries have reported downbeat numbers, missing estimates. Among the under-perfomers is the cement and construction sector, whose results so far have shown negative average revenue growth and falling margins. One factor here is the strong monsoon, which while great for agriculture, has delayed construction activity across the country. But a bigger factor, as the Nuvoco Vistas management pointed out, is falling government spending. "Union government capex has dropped 19% YoY, and state governments’ capex declined by 6% YoY in the first five months of FY25, after a 40% surge in the previous year," they noted. "Some states have seen 35%+ drops in state capex spending." Construction and cement account for one-fifth of corporate earnings, so weakness here has dragged down overall performance. Sectors such as industrial machinery and plastics are also struggling, and consumer demand remains weak across sectors like FMCG, auto, and retail.
