It's so easy to forget. I should do the same, because I didn't realise until now how brave I used to be, and how I haven't thanked that part of me for decades. You are wise, Shea.
Shae represents so much to me I know I understand that person, because that’s me. My favorite seasons are 9 and all stars 7 because of Shae. The camaraderie is what I want to see and those seasons delivered. We have very few spaces so I much rather see us lift each other up not tear each other’s down. Not everything has to be a competition, “Showmanship” is also a worthy reason to watch.
I had no idea she was basically ostracized from the theatre community for being too fem or flamboyant. No wonder she is such an angel and so professional. She is an icon!!!!
Shea went to the same college as I did (Columbia College Chicago stand up!), and I would see them on campus all the time at the black student union events. Always such a light to be around, and as soon as I saw her on season 9 I recognized her immediately, and it had been nearly 10 years by that point. So proud of her. The Vixen used to go to that school as well. We’re still Fb friends lol.

Ya know I cannot stop raving about this season enough. I have never watched anything with such pure high moments and been so thoroughly entertained on a Broadway level sitting right in my own house. I so wished I could stuff tips through my television every week, I had guilt not paying for this kind of talent streaming right to me. This was the absolute end all be all of every season combined regular and all stars. I LOVE that no one goes home the whole time due to new race rules and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how beautifully every single queen got along and respected one another.
