To clarify: I understand that the GTA trailer is just that, a trailer. I don't know if I said this clear enough, so I'll put it here. What I am trying to point out is that gaming crowds are getting hyped about the fact that there is a trailer, not what is shown in the trailer itself. Rockstar has been silent about GTA 6 for almost a decade (also the masive legacy of the GTA games), so I think it is a little bit of an exception. But it feels like the only reason it has had such a positive reception is because we haven't heard anything in ten years. We are enjoying the food they give us only because we have been starved. Yea that quote goes hard I am a poet. It feels like these advertisements (especially Fortnite) are being released as content to satisy us. But I don't think it should be like that. I think advertisements should serve a whole other purpose. Honestly my main problem is just how the Fortnite Event was branded as a big deal and it was really just an ad. Alright. Cool. You said in your comment and in the video that people get excited for a trailer and not what is shown in it . I dont know what you are saying , but Rockstar in their trailers are ALWAYS using their in game engine to capture that footage. That means , whatever you just saw in the GTA 6 trailer is in game footage . That alone , people are hyped about it . About how the graphics look, the little details . The fact they are diverse NPCs in a huge place and doing different activities and how crowded the place is . A small glimpse of the police AI and the setting . I dont really see the similarities at all, Rockstar is a company that NEVER say anything about their projects until they reveal it . I believe thats a way to go but a little more communication wouldn't be so bad . However i understand why they are doing these for their big projects to create hype . Right now the GTA 6 trailer has around 150mil views in about a week , Rockstar didnt advertise anything. They only posted a picture and people were so hyped . Imagine how huge the hype would be when they start putting GTA 6 videos and pictures on billboards. It will be even more huge than GTA 5 . As i said , i dont see the similarities at all, thats how marketing works to get attention. Besides that , they are two completely different things . The GTA 6 trailer got more views than that small fortnite event did . I am wondering if you are doing this to get views because it doesn't really make much sense but oh well 🤷
Hmmmm, interesting insight. Even though a lot of what you said might be true, I think my main point still stands that the vast majority of the hype was for the trailer, not from it. Yes, the trailer was made in the engine. Yes, that is impressive. Yes, there are absolutely specific things to look forward to. Yes, Rockstar’s trailers are known to be accurate to what the game looks like. Still, the VAST majority of discourse and hype online focuses on the fact that there just was a trailer. Sure, there are lots of people dissecting the trailer and looking forward to the content. I think that is true. But comparatively, I think that the vast majority of discourse online is just about the fact that there is a trailer. That being said, this is completely anecdotal and just my general impression of things. And, as I mentioned, maybe this was a bad example because GTA specifically has such a legacy, but in my mind, it is more of a gaming industry trend, not just specific to these two games. Nope, not doing this for views, these were just some thoughts I had, and I am glad you disagree and are making that known. They could have put a trailer on youtube and call it a day. But instead they grab the attention of active players to show off their next season content in hopes for the lil ol' lamb's to buy they're battle pass candy. Talk about a cash grab tactic by none other than corporate chips and dip. 🤑🤢🤮 And for the recent GTA VI trailer. Its just a trailer. To think people looked at the trailer and presume its automatically gameplay worthy is actually quite goofy. *We haven't even got actual gameplay footage* to see if the _"NPC's"_ are _"revolutionary and advanced."_ 🤓 Like how the trailer represents them. It's just over hyped and I think people cant take the trailer with a grain of salt, their oblivious and staring at the bikini girls within the trailer with their precious "PHYSICS'S." 😑 I think this is just another corporate Agenda to get into the Gamer's wallet again. After basically ten YEARS of silence, the only thing we get is a super surface level trailer? No mention of gameplay or anything official. Indeed, I think there are people who are perhaps too optimistic after seeing this trailer. That being said, I have heard the general sentiment that unlike lots of other big games these days, Rockstar trailers are much more similar and true to what you actually get.
