Standing a Hydrogen Gas Balloon

In the pre-dawn morning, thousands of cubic feet of Hydrogen rush into an envelope that is about to become a proud, standing aircraft-a piece of aviation lore. This will become a manned, hydrogen filled balloon. Were flying Hydrogen in the Americas, in 2010! In this sequence the hydrogen gas fill has gone quiet for a moment-- until we pull the toggle out, and the aircraft stands in an instant! After the 30-pound bags attached to the handling lines zip by, we finish filling the balloon and fly it to 10,800 feet on a 9-hour flight over the high New Mexico dessert.
