Great idea! Better brakes, almost free. Just a bit of time and energy!

I put a Vanco hydroboost kit on a Jeep YJ with 33s a long time ago. First time I hit the brake pedal with the force I was used to, all 4 wheels locked up. Big upgrade.

I need to get on with testing my project car brakes, I have a hydroboost salvaged from an Escalade that may end up in it.
Salvage parts for the budget builds, saving 90% of the costs and letting imagination run free. Wander the wrecking yards and see what catches your eye and looks like it might fit your needs!

since you have it all apart I bet you could get a very good paint job done for not a lot of money. That truck would look new.

Now you have to worry how much brakes you have when your motor shuts off because when you don't have the motor running you don't have power assist brakes you got to squeeze it down and hopefully you can push the pedal hard enough

6:18 Put Hydraboost from 04 2500 van (same donor of 6.0 and 4l80) in my 53 chevy panel truck works awesome

Looking forward to the install "results" this is something my 04 LS donor 3500 van had, and I am wishing I had kept it after I parted it out to do my Camaro Swap. Curious how much room you end up with on the firewall, without the brake booster pancake.

A ton more room, I'll be doing it to my Dodge as well because the 440 hits everything

Interesting. I will be putting a bigger cam in my camaro and vacuum might be a problem. Do you think this will work on a 2nd gen camaro with an ls1 engine swap?

Any chance you can use the pedal assembly that goes with your hydro boost? I'm planning a similar set up, and was wondering if the geometry will be off if don't use the factory pedal and push rod.

That's kind of the point of the video, with a drill, a welder, and a grinder, you can do any combination of things that floats your boat.

@@TheDrivewayEngineer a vice and hammers are pretty helpful too. Tekton rebrands trusty cook hammers. Best bang for your buck out there. I'm not about to pay tool truck prices for chunks of metal to smash, bend and shape other chunks of metal. But exactly what J.R. said. A drill, grinders and a welder can make a lot happen.
