- We get the latest project in the shop and start getting it on the road. We hit the first steps bringing this old 74 back to life! More videos incoming! This is the first part of my wreckers revival!
She’s a beaut Clark!
@mikewood1421 thanks man!
Love it keep them coming!
@@SiameseScientist gonna try!
Safety glasses should really be a part of the operation here buddy 🤓😂 you only get one pair of eyes, take care of em 🤘
You are not wrong 😆 but if you like safety spectacles, an up coming video has plenty of that
Love this!
@@MinnesotaisRust that's awesome, thanks for watching!
One of my 2 favorite tow trucks 😉😂
@@straightlinesolutions6062 definitely my favorite lol
I like the wrecker. A transmission guy near me had a old 76 chevy 1 ton dually 4x4 wrecker. It was full time 4x4 & had a 454. Very cool old truck. I think it's just setting now not running, Been sitting for yrs now. I've always had fords & I have sevral very cool old fords but I really like these old chevys also. Maybey I should go see if I could buy that old wrecker?
I'd highly recommend getting one! in the following videos I'll demonstrate how handy they are for us classic collectors. To date, I've hauled home 23 vehicles for various reasons.
@theempireofrust oh I do have a tow truck. Just not a dually 4x4 chevy with a 454.
@@jesseduke694 4x4 is a huge plus for sure
I'm putting 2 older wreckers together. also know of a 2.5ton and another 480 holes unit for sale. all old fords though.
@@oregonfordguy9812 interesting
It seems like only yesterday
Cool old truck, not factory 4x4 1 ton though. Chevy didn't offer a factory 1 ton 4x4 until 1977. Looks like a 3/4 ton frame, they're smaller 6 inch vs 8 inch, although it looks like someone boxed (or reinforced, I can't quite tell) it at least. Also 1/2 & 3/4 tons have the shocks mounted outside the frame in the rear like this truck appears to be, while 1 tons had the shocks mounted inside the frame. Still neat old truck though, and I could be wrong just going off my observations
No sir, it started its like as a C20 dually from what I can tell, and someone kindly converted it to 4x4 with a Dana 60, thanks for the comment! And hopefully I'll have more videos with the wrecker inbound!
@@theempireofrust That makes sense. I know of factory conversions (Not GM, but NAPCO, Marmon-Herrington, etc.) done on 67-72 and earlier C30s, and think it would be interesting to a find a 73-76 C30 that was converted by one of them, but I've never seen one. I've seen a 73 Ford f350 that was I believe factory converted to 4x4 by Marmon-Herrington, not a Ford guy but still a neat truck. Ford was actually last to offer a factory 4x4 1 ton in, 79 being the first year. As I said Chevy starting in 77, while Dodge offered their first in 57 or 58. International started offering one in the early 60's I believe. 4x4 1 tons were kinda a niche thing, which is why it took Chevy and Ford so long to start offering them.
@Burnside1905 I'm guessing it was a salvage yard conversion that probably happened in the 80s, it had ford locking hubs when I picked it up and the front leafs had painted markings saying '1984'
Nice content on the channel.....i'm subbing to too see where this goes with the tow truck......
I appreciate it! There's more coming soon!
