OH MY GOD! THE MKWII TAS COMPETITION IS RESSURECTED FROM THE DEAD! ...and I missed the premier because I was at work when it happened. Anyways, the participants must take on the secret passage of the Grassland Mountains in this very special task, and many of them paired up because this task is LONG! Let's get this recap started: 15th: We start off with Team Tasty Burgers, as Burger and Canibal Burger take a whopping three minutes to clear this task, clearly in over their beef patties (hopefully they taste better than this run) 14th: The Tactical TASer chose to go it alone, an unwise decision, but still enough to devour the Burger twins 13th: TROY IMITATOR ALERT! Despite Almost being TWD98, he still wasn't the real TWD98, and it showed 12th: We've got chriss here doing some EXTREME mountain descending, but still not quite sure what they're doing 11th: Oh god, its that darned EmuCat hybrid, I thought the long hiatus would've made them leave 10th: Okay, now for someone who knows what they're doing, as Pyraminx makes the previous runners look like chumps 9th: Finally, another team effort, as Ancient and thomas barely eek out a gap over Pyraminx 8th: EalB and WariX decide to bust out the cheese strats, like a wall that isn't actually a wall 7th: Seems like Rogue and Weebo thought that the cheese was no match for EXTREME mountain descending 6th: Dash and Aaron decide to beat Rogue and Weebo at their own game 5th: Okay, it definitely seems like the cheese is the way to go, as Walvie clearly demonstrates 4th: GRACIOUS HOST ALERT! Kierio and Campbell were too good for the cheese, deciding to mop it up instead 3rd: Alas, Hibye and Zappg don't have anything against cheese, so they graciously consume it 2nd: Uh oh, a flurry of police activity has descended upon the task, this looks bad 1st: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ALERT?! Epik and Demon went for the really nasty cheese with EXTREME PYRAMID CLIMBING!
@@Kierio04 I absolutely loved how the progression into the later parts of the song was timed so that the final part would begin simultaneously with the first place run.
Had to rewind on number 1 holy shit Also love how you timed the drop so it would happen when number 1 started Insane comp! I might join one of those one day
Oh this is cool. So basically the summary of the status of the TAS tasks are that, the tasks take a long time to record, edit, etc so you took a break. But next year, you're leaving high school which gives you a lot more free time, there are new automation tools for the competitions, and there are some bot updates which allows you to these competitions biweekly?
I’ve finally got the time so I’m gonna give it to you here in full: Cancelling the comp: I had planned on taking a break, and used the special tasks as a way to do that. Unfortunately this backfired as I had planned some of the biggest tasks in terms of time spent planning/organising and recording/editing for the video. After being overwhelmed with the workload, losing all motivation for TASing in the tasks, getting poor reception of the videos after putting all that work into them, and also entering my biggest year of high school (the last one), I cancelled the competition indefinitely, scrapping any further plans for “low-effort” tasks. Reviving the comp: When the Unofficial Task happened, I wanted to just run a comp for fun since I missed doing them but didn’t plan on putting any work into streams or videos (CampbellMop made the video for it, check it out on his channel). I never expected it to have the turnout it did and honestly made me feel very good o have that many people want to compete and happy the comp was (temporarily) back. Restarting the comp: Zappg and DashQC are the people responsible for the comp returning for good. They both helped make me realise how much the competition meant to everyone and convinced me to return to running them. The thing that pushed me over the edge was the combination of me finding a really interesting track (Grassland Mountain) to be able to replace Escape from Cataquack Castle for the Special Task III slot (I wasn’t happy with that track but didn’t have anything else similar) and Zappg letting me know the CT Jam Team was eager to have another collaboration, which became what was Special Task V. Running the comp: Knowing what the rest of my year still had ahead, I only planned tasks to be in times I knew I would be free to both compete and work on result videos. Grassland Mountain took a slot in August, the CT Jam collaboration took a slot in October, and the live leaderboard task took a slot in December (and it’s running right now). After Special Task III happened, Jello gave me a joke idea for a task on DKS where everything was offroad, and I took it on board unironically, making what became Special Task IV. During Special Task V, knowing people who chose to not compete in it will have waited almost 3 months by the time the final task came around, so worked with DashQC to make what became Special Task VI (this will be premiering tomorrow). Automating the comp: I did some work towards automating the submission system for the Unofficial Task but in its current state only gave me more work than less. I hope next year will bring some more success on that end, as I should be working with the TASCompBot developer more next year for a project starting in January. This was originally the bottleneck stopping me from coming back but I conceded when Dash and Zappg convinced me otherwise.
@@Kierio04 thank you for taking the time to explain everything! Good luck with your final month of school and good luck with the tasks next year along with future projects!

What's sum of best segments?
Taking into account a maximum of 3 mushrooms...
2nd section SC & 4th section SC:
2nd place's first section + 1st place's second section + 4th place's third section + 1st place's fourth section = 1:23.983 [1-0-1-1 shroomstrat]
4th section SC only:
9th place's first section + 4th place's second section + 4th place's third section + 1st place's fourth section = 1:33.583 [0-1-1-1 shroomstrat]
2nd section SC only:
2nd place's first section + 1st place's second section + 4th place's third section + 2nd place's fourth section (or 4th place's fourth section with an extra shroom) = 1:33.550 (or 1:33.467) [1-0-1-1 shroomstrat]
Neither 2nd SC nor 4th SC:
