- Here is my best take so far of this piece. Came back to it after 2 years break to include in my upcoming recital. This Ballade is very dear to me. I find it to be a perfect piano piece. It has a vast variety of distinct characters, from utterly passionate to majestically noble and to most delicate moments of pure poetry. This piece contains grand moments of virtuosity, but also has plenty of contemplative narratives, which allow the piano to sing and for subtitles of piano sound palette to shine. Absolutely marvelous genius work by Frédéric Chopin in which every note has the deepest meaning, in my humble opinion.
it's an older Steinway D, I like how gently it sounds.
3:25 This is my favorite part. Brings me to tears how expressive and emotional it’s played. Thank you.
I am soooo envious of your talent. Brings a tear to my eyes wishing I could play like you can, knowing I never will. Thank you for sharing.🌺
Wonderful interpretation and control :) I also agree this old Steinway sounds great! I figured it might be an old one based on how good the sustain is. I'm not a huge fan of most Steinways anymore since I've learned more about pianos, but they were objectively one of the best around the turn of the last century.
WOW, I had to come back towards the end to update. The way you pulled back after the Triumphant E flat major section coming back down to the haunting reiteration of the first theme D minor was absolutely breathtaking!! At 6:35! I don't think I've ever heard anyone play that part so beautifully. I learned this piece a year or two ago, I'm going to try it that way right now!
I just have to confirm this by saying I just went and listened to 5 of the most renowned concert pianists in the world and not a SINGLE one of them made that moment as precious as you did, they all flew right past it. WELL DONE!! If you're curious, those five were Seong-Jin Cho, Yundi Li, Krystian Zimmerman, Yuja Wang, and Garrick Ohlsson. The only one who came close was Yuja Wang.
Thank you so very much for such a touching feedback about my playing! And thank you for putting the time into writing all your impressions!
I deeply appreciate it.
I have listened to most of the pianists you mentioned play the ballads, except Yundi Li. I will today!
I also love the interpretation of Yulianna Avdeeva. She is one of my favorite pianists. Very expressive playing! If you don't know her, I highly recommend listening to her playing. Especially Listz Sonata In B, Mussorgsy Pictures at Exhibition, Prokofiev 2nd Concerto, and Chopin Ballade no. 4. :)
Nice playing
My goodness! I’m speechless, incredible. I’m so grateful I found your channel. Thank you for sharing!
7:38 gives me chills, so beautiful 👏
I love this piece so much! 😊
Dashun’ka, so proud of you!!❤
Bravo
Даша, очень сильно и проникновенно. Один из лучших, если не лучший Шопен.
Daria, this piece is one of my all time favorites. I especially love your dynamic contrasts and your approach which is always gutsy and touching. And those Chopin Etudes I’m sure solidified that treacherous ending. It’s really a feat playing FF and fast and make it sound emotionally moving without pounding it out and getting totally carried away by the shear joy and grandeur of this magnificent work. This is a great accomplishment.
Brava and best of luck for your recital. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Haha ,your hair style is quite amusing
