Long time ago I found myself in a similar situation. Before camera phones. I told the officer not to touch me which he immediately turned to blame shifting and gaslighting. Yup would be aggravated assault in Illinois. A felony.
Aggravated generally means assault with a weapon but because of the protected status of officers, assault on an officer gets upped to aggravated.
