id recommend only using E5 in motorbikes as E10 can eat away at fuel lines faster and gunk up injectors quicker etc. Plus more fuel efficient (from what I've heard).
Quite a big heavy bike for your first bike. I would suggest something like a Honda CB500X would be better and less likely to get yourself into trouble that you can learn your motorcycle craft on. Anyway once you have passed your test, aren't you are limited to A2 for two years which is up to 47bhp? The Sprint ST1050 is 123bhp.
Hi Alex. I was thinking the same, the sprint is a big bike and a big jump from a 125cc. When I had passed my test, I was nerves going on the bike, but I don't think it's that bad, got used to the bike very quick. Your only limited to a A2 if you're under the age of 25, if your over you can jump on any size.
@@TwistandRelease Oh right. I am guessing you are over 25 then. The Sprint ST 1050 is still a bigger heavier bike. It's not that nimble. I find it quite top heavy especially at slow speeds. I've been riding many decades and have ridden a few bikes. It's more touring than sport imho. When it goes it goes, over I mean, there is no stopping it. Yeah once you are on the move and used to it I suppose it's ok. It's a comfortable bike, fairly soft suspension more suited to all day touring sort of riding not sport bike sort of riding. Anyway enjoy yours. You were brave taking it up and over the Hardknot pass. I wouldn't do that on mine as it's steep! Safe riding. ATB.
@@alexmorgan3435 yea I'm a lot older than you may think 😅 The plan is to go touring and thought the sprint would be the best bike for it. With the hardknot pass I didn't know it was going to be as steep, a friend said we should do it but didn't know what it was like, did say at the end of it, that it would have been better on a smaller bike 🤣 was worried id drop the bike.
@@TwistandRelease Yes these were my worries too. The Sprint ST1050 is a good touring bike and where it comes into it's own. Pretty comfortable riding position and seat, but I'm shorter and not that heavy so can ride it all day. Had mine 8-9 years. It's still in mint condition as well. Just fitted LED bulbs which are like night and day. I believe the headlight lenses are projector lenses so it can be done. Anyway I can see the road properly at night now, not that I ride too often in the dark. I don't ride in winter although still riding this year into december until it becomes too cold, the frosts, ice and salt on the roads start happening. ATB.
Hope you enjoy your sprint they are fantastic sports tourer, but check and lubricant the rear chain adjuster on the eccentric hub and strip and lubricant the rear hub drive as it is essential.
Nice bike mate 👍 I am going for my full test very soon just doing my thorey test at min my bike I have now is the yzfr125 love the bike but need something bigger thinking about getting a yamaha r1 1000cc lovely bikes
Hi Stewie congratulations for your new bike it is a big step for you that’s good , I’d like ask you , I have a 125cc motorbike and I want to do the full test so my question is , if I get a second hand motorbike with the least 595cc Can I use it with the L plate on it and can I ride it until mock test sorry for my English it is hard for me hope have a nice day!
Thanks Jose it is a big jump 😅 Sorry you can't drive anything bigger than a 125cc after the CBT test. If your new bike is road worthy you can use it for taking lessons, but you will need an instructor with you.
It is that Chris. Not passed yet, got my DAS booked on the 3rd of October. The bike dose need some work do to it, so will hopefully have it ready for when I pass. Fingers crossed I do pass 🤣
