I think it depends. I don't think Texas has anything to do with it. Stankoven started the season as the betting favorite for the Calder due to his experience. He's just not performing as well as Celebrini, Michkov, or (up to about a week ago) Wolf. He's a very nice player though and I believe he'll be in the conversation at season end.
I like Stankoven, but seeing dudes like Celebrini and Hutson having so much point, puck confidence and playmaking at this age for such a small defenser in one of the worst club in nhl i mean ...
It's insane to me how under the radar Stankoven continues to be. Michkov will most likely win the Calder, and rightfully so if he keeps playing the way he has... but Stankoven is another kid to keep our eye on. Don't sleep on him.
Really shouldn't come as a surprise. Much like Wyatt Johnston two seasons ago, spectacular player who wasn't even nominated for the Calder. If Johnson played in Canada or on the coast he almost certainly would have won, but he wasn't even nominated! lol, absolute joke.
Winning the Calder is practically meaningless, what they contribute to the team is what counts. There are plenty of great players that did not win nor were nominated for the Calder. Hell, Gretzky didn't even get it.
Celebrini is so fun to watch, super excited to watch his game grow!
Celebrini is unreal, most impressive rookie to me. Youngest player in the NHL happens
As a Sharks fan it’s great to have the team doing well again.
Every time Celebrini gets the puck, expect good things to happen.
Celebrini is going to win the Calder!!:)
🦈🦈🦈
Stankoven could score 35 goals and they still wouldn't DREAM of giving the Calder to a player down in Texas. Just not going to happen.

he could score 35. but he's on pace for 10 so many don't make shit up when the kid isn't playing anywhere near the level of the top guys.

@@oPyr3x issue with hutson is montreal fans have no idea what a good prospect looks like so it's hard to trust they actually have one.

Currently, Celebrini is on pace for 37 goals and 65 points, and Michkov is on pace for 31 goals and 66 points at their current paces.
Celebrini wins it!!

4 goals dude. we can take a good long sleep on him rn.
