Personally I always chose to believe they fed on Negative emotions/pain as I found them adorable, but since pain grounds people it does possibly cause some people to pass on but while at peace

And Chandelure sucks up souls to burn, presumably as fuel since it IS a chandelier. Spirits burned in such a manner become wandering spirits for all eternity, which I suppose means that it can only use part of them, discarding the leftovers.

But in all seriousness, might I interest you in Shiinotic's pokedex entry? It basically hypnotizes people in the dead of night to steal their vitality with a touch!
What about that cactus pokemon that lives in the desert. In the day time it looks like a normal cactus and it stalks you but it moves at night. Just think, it's a desert full of cacti and at night these fuckers are *everywhere*

Have to echo Honedge and its evolutions (all of which are awesome in X & Y).
(using my dad's account) Shedninja especially-i mean, you see it's back crack whenever you throw it out in battle, so if you have used it, you are a soulless shell. just using it means your soul is gone.

Oh, and don't forget Poke-humans are strong enough to stand pokmon attacks… at least better tan our world humans. So some Pokémon may not know they can kill you with something that for most people is just kinda bad.
Yeah Drifloon is pretty creepy, but there are pokedex entries that talk about the fact that it is pretty light so when it tries to grab a child's hand it often gets pulled around instead and runs away if the child plays with it too roughly.
The Ultra Moon Dex entry TRIES to make it a little less creepy: "Wandering souls gathered together to form this Pokémon. When trying to make friends with children, Drifloon grabs them by the hand."
*2 Years Later* Yeah, it probably takes a group of them to grab a kid to drag off. Otherwise, some excitable toddler or little kid probably mistakes them for a regular balloon and drags them around. The summarized PokeDex entries don't give a lot of context and the snippet can sound a little misleading, especially with conflicting entries in the past or within both games in a Gen. Just like how they've shown the changed entries in the last video on this.
Regardless, even some of the original Blue, Red, Green and Yellow entries were pretty spooky.

Mimikyu backstory is very heart wrenching since of course in reality their will be no possibilities that it would have a trainer or just a companion unless under rags of clothes and a disguise just to even get close,it’s sad it can’t be itself of the conditions

It’s pretty logical that some Pokemon are based on actual objects of real life it’s a references to particular type of Yokai (Japanese ghost/demon) the folklore said that if you leave your well loved object suddenly or treat them badly they grow spirit and became Yokai. It also explain why the franchise got a bit wild in some cute Pokémon descriptions 😂 after all they are pocket monsters.

Actually, he died in a different episode where he saw it because the rag had been abandoned underwater. For about a minute of in-universe time. Komalas are better than parasect. It has had it's mind consumed and controlled by a fungus... which is based on the real life fungus that actually infects insects and arachnids called Cordyceps/ Ophiocordyceps.

No mention of Gengar? Most of the Pokedex entries for it are about how it loves to trick people by pretending to be their shadow and running past them. But there are a few about how they lurk in your shadow, waiting for their chance to "Steal the life of their target.'
And then there's the Sun/moon entries. Hell, it reads like a threatening warning.
"It apparently wishes for a traveling companion. Since it was once human itself, it tries to create one by taking the lives of other humans."
"Should you feel yourself attacked by a sudden chill, it is evidence of an approaching Gengar. There is no escaping it. Give up."
"You can hear tales told all over the world about how Gengar will pay a visit to children who are naughty."
"Even your home isn't safe. Gengar will lurk in whatever dark corner of a room it can find and wait for its chance to catch its prey."
Yeah. Escalates from 'cheerful prankster' to 'stalking psycho-murdering ghost' in a real short amount of time.

Ever since Sun/Moon, Mimikyu has become my all time favourite, because I too am lonely and wear the skin of someone who's more nice and outgoing but underneath it all I'm actually an eldritch void who will melt your face off if you ever see my true form.

When I was little I was really creeped out by the Alakazam that Ash battles in one of the episodes. Not only did the Alakazam have telekinesis (which it could use to literally make your heart stop), it had a weird bond with its trainer who was a 5-year-old child who also somehow had telekinesis powers?
