Thank you bringing robotech to my life. I remember getting up 63iam every day to watch every morning before going to middle school 1985-1986. Just hearing the voices from my childhood and it was a great feeling and the nostalgia.
Thank all of you for bringing Robotech to my life. I first watched it at 6AM in 1985, and now at 45 years old, I still watch it along with my fiance, who I met because of Robotech. ❤
I'm 56 yrs old and Robotech was my gateway to anime that carried on from then to now. Every now and then I re-watch it, and still affects me emotionally. Thank you for the many memories!
The first day I saw Robotech, might not have been the NA premiere date, I was at a friends house and I was watching Transformers and GI Joe and a few other cartoons at the time. As soon as the filmstrip intro finished and the first commercial break came on, I bolted from my friend's house, ran about 200 meters to my house and said "Dad please record this!" repeatedly, about 10 times, before he found a VHS tape, put it in, and pressed record a short time into the second stretch of the show after the commercial break. Since that day, I've loved Robotech. Thank you all for your work; you created something some Canadian kid still loves to this day, and it's amazing to see you and hear your voices and hear the fingerprints of those characters. :) Cheers to you all.
Found this vid by accident! Wow! Like others say, Robotech had a big impact on my Sat morning when i first saw it in early 86 in Canada. I was so surprised about an episode actually mentioning Ontario and Toronto (just west of where I lived). I couldnt get enough of it. It was the only comic i ever bought. I wasn't a comics person but i had to know more of the story. I have never been to conventions. I closed my eyes and listened for the characters as you talked. Loved the origin stories of your roles, thank you for such iconic work.
WoW. Used to wake up early, come home early to watch this show. EPIC. War, love, violence, death, betrayal, career, promotion- great show. So realistic, relevant and ADULT!!!!!
Yes. It means sexual intercourse as a means of procreating, as opposed to the Zentraedi's use of cloning of troops into existence. It also refers to human culture including arts, as opposed to not having any culture other than arranging entire lives into military arrangements for continual conquest for the sake of destroying cultures.

Couldn’t hit like hard enough! I was around 7 years old when I fell in love with this anime. I’m 38 yrs old now. My bro sent me this link and watched it whole with a big smile on my face. Thanks guys!

Thank you all for getting together to do this. I was a big fan of robotech. It came out when I was 10 years old, so that makes me uh um almost 25 now :). I really liked that it was a serious almost realistic show and how the story continued on through each episode. Most cartoons are stand alone episodes with simple story’s and no character development. It was so much more than a cartoon. I’m a big anime fan still today, and any anime that came out since, I still compare to the original Macross part of Robotech. Most shows still don’t compare to the overall quality. Looking forward to part 2 of this video. I know people gave Carl Macek a hard time for changing things around and combining 3 unrelated series into 1, but that’s the way he had to be to get on the air and into our living rooms.
Wow, this is really cool. Back in the 90's, I remember watching Robotech every day after school. Hell, when Toonami didn't show the third season, New Generation, I begged my mom to let me rent the tapes from Hastings so I could see just what the Invid were. It is a great show with an amazing cast. Robotech was definitely a big influence on me. Witnessing the horrors of war, the trials and tribulations of romance, and seeing charaters that cross-dressed was undeniably an eye opening experience for a kid. When you popped up in Metal Gear Solid as Liquid Snake, I remember exploding with joy. "That's Max from Robotech! OH MY GOD!!!" Good times. Thanks!
Those were the good old days. "Robotech.. No assembly required. Twenty four unidentified objects, take cover at once!" I didn't even know there was a third season until I was a high school freshman. The New Generation is definitely my 2nd favorite saga of Robotech and, like most people, the Macross episodes will always be my favorite. Awesome to see so many of the Macross voice actors in one room at the same time
Can't believe I'm just now watching this, incredible reunion! Much gratitude and love to all of you, just did a rewatch on my DVDs for the first time in a while and was reminded why Robotech was so inspiring. Rock on, Cam!
Can't believe it took me this long to find this. I feel fortunate that I got to grow up in the 80's and Robotech was a huge part of my childhood. Thank you all for doing this video, it was great to hear all your voices again!!
Robotech, the show that introduced me to anime as a kid. I originally thought this was a 90's show when I saw it on Toonami, until I did some research and found out it was an 80's show.
Thank you Cam for doing this. I am glad to everybody is looking fabulous. I miss every bodies voice. I would be awestruck with them all if I attended some fantasy after party; Melanie MacQueen may give me spine shivers with her voice. I can't wait for part 2!
J. Jay Smith…that deeply thought provoking narrator who gave his often blatantly cynical insights before and at the end of the episodes. For some reason, I remember his voice above all others regarding Robotech. “On a minor battlefield, in a war fought without many rules…one fact remains clear to Scott and his band of ragtag freedomfighters: There is no simple truth…on which they can rely.” For a show initially brought forth for kids, the depth his voice and words added made that series so so much more.
My dad told me stories about when the show first aired. He thought the show was okay but couldn't get into it. Still, he decided to rent some vhs tapes that happened to be the (probably bootleg) japanese dub with acid washed subtitles. He notice that it was pretty much a completely different show, and a much better one at that. Only recently did he he learn about all the things that happened behind the scenes and everything finally made sense.
Hope you guys are doing well. ROBOTECH was my best part in my childhood. That's was very early American Anime exported to China. I wish you guys are healthy and going well.
This is so sweet. I used to watch Robotech on my parents' black and white TV. It was the first cartoon I'd seen with a continuous story, romance, music AND character deaths. It also got me through some very rough times in junior high.
OHHH EMMM GEEE!!!! 😍😍😍 Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the beautiful memories from this iconic show. I would run home to watch new episodes of Robotech as a kid in South LA, and could not wait for every new epiosde. Lisa Hayes, I'm still crying with you over your memories of Karl Riber on that Mars base! I used to hang on to your every word. And Cam, I loved Max and Yellow Dancer! It's so awesome to have had a non-binary hero so early on. All of you were phenomenal. I'm really hoping to watch a live action Robotech film, in all its glory, in my lifetime; it would have to follow in your incredible footsteps, that you built over bad coffee and long nights. Thank you for a show that will be with me for a entire lifetime. 🥰

Thank you Cam very much! My heart leapt when I saw this. I grew up watching the original airing of Robotech, I think at 7am on Saturday mornings. So to see that it has been 35 years blew my mind. It has been and always be my favorite Anime series of all time. I would say I was mildly obsessed with it :) I actually attended the ROBOCON 10 (10 yr anniversary) convention in Anaheim CA back in 1995, the one and only 100% Robotech convention. Went down a rabbit hole and discovered the voices of my childhood. Robotech led me into the anime universe. After robotech, I checked out gundam, speed racer & sailor moon. Ah, the 80’s, what a time.
I can't express how overjoyed I was to find this video! Robotech was the single most important and influential series of my childhood. Most fans acknowledge Robotech was such a powerful, heart-wrenching story and it was unlike anything Western audiences had ever seen before, but what I feel truly made Robotech unique, exceptional and deeply endearing were the American voice actors' distinguished performances and composer Ulpio Minucci's incredibly rich and memorable musical score. Their wonderful voices and the original music is what truly gives Robotech its heart and soul. I am so grateful to all these wonderful people for helping to make Robotech so special and magical to me. I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting Tony Oliver on a few occasions and always felt awestruck. While I know he has done countless projects since the Macross Saga, there is a sincere quality to him that just radiates one of my most beloved fictional heroes of all time, Rick Hunter.
This is a total trip! I'm watching 'Robotech - The Macross Saga' atm. The FDS-1 just crashed back down to earth after defeating the 'head of the snake' mega ship of the zentraedi. Very cool reunion. I'm currently completing for my first time to watch the entire Macross Saga. I don't remember finishing it as a youngster. Looking forward to completing it in the coming week.
Much Love from me to you all despite being late a couple of years (I apologize for that). As for all of your efforts, I watched Robotech on cable tv in Puerto Rico back when I was in the 6th going on the 7th grade. Now, I'll be turning 50 and I still remember vividly those years watching the show at 5 pm my time. I was hooked on the first episode of the Macross saga!!!! That opened the door for anime shows I love watching. God Bless you all!!!! Keep it up!!!! Can you guys bring in the voice actor of Breetai!!!!! He was one of my favorite characters!!!
Barbara Goodson was the voice of Rita Repulsa in Power Rangers. She dubbed both Machiko Soga in the Zyuranger footage and the actress they brought in for the original American footage.
My Dad introduced me to Robotech. Through that I learnt about Macross. I dsicovered how big of a franchise it had become. The music really enjoyed. I recently took the time to watch or rewatch Super Dimension Fortress Macross surprised by how different the characters are from the Robotech edit. Especially Lynn Minmay who I really couldn't bring myself to like her in the edited version. I hope one day we get Macross franchise officially released in UK. As you can imagine not a happy day or anniversary for everyone. As it marks another year without official Macross.
I’m wilding out over here!!! Holy smokes! Bruhhhhhh I’d haul ass home to watch robotech as a kid! Still the best English dub ever made! Because I refuse to watch anything English 😂… I’m staring at the dvd set across the room from me. Man, the 80s was the best 🧡💛

Oh Cam, that was so sweet to assemble all these wonderful artists together. They all have such a great sense of humor, and will always be remembered by me for their work. I wish you were all on Cameo! Lol.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ROBOTECH 🙂❤️👍!!!!
Very cool reunion. I'm currently completing for my first time to watch the entire Macross Saga. I don't remember finishing it as a youngster. Looking forward to completing it in the coming week.
Thanks, Cam & company! You guys are the best! :)
“Los Ricos También Lloran”!!!
Oh hell, I remember that one!
awesome! I still love Robotech, it blew me away as a kid and holds up so well!
we need more ROBOTECH for a new generation of fans, new animated projects how ROBOTECH SHADOW RISING or ROBOTECH ACADEMY
