- SafeLife Defense tactical carrier side panel velcro/hook and loop became degraded and needed to be replaced. I took the side panel off, removed armor and put it in new panel, and installed new panel to the vest.
SafeLife has a 2 year warranty on their carriers and should replace the straps.
Could’ve just ordered more velcro traps. It’s not like the other end of the straps are sown into the carrier. Those straps are removable. Nothing last for ever, if you’re frequently using the vest especially daily, you have to expect normal wear and tear.
Post a video of some of the other styles of tactical vest carriers
What were the other styles of tactical vest carriers you mentioned
Can you change the side straps for QD straps that you Velcro on ?
I have another video where I add a quick disconnect strap to each side. I bought the straps and had my seamstress sew them on. In the video I had them sewn on 'backwards' because it would be easier that way. Looking back I should have had them sewn on the way they would be intended to be position. Doesn't make that huge of a difference but it does make disconnecting a side panel not as fast as the QD should be. The video will explain it.
Howd you attach your badge to the vest? I like the tactical carrier but my department requires my badge be on it
The badge is on a belt clip. The belt clip is clipped to the rifle plate pocket opening and stays in place because of the clip tension and also because the ride plate pocket opening is Velcro and it just velcroes all around the clip to keep it in one spot and prevents it from sliding to side any.
@@primordialdefense5769 pretty good idea. Thanks.
@@primordialdefense5769 post a video on it
Try a badge clip
Question . As this will help with my fitting size .
Are the back and front supposed to meet together when strapping ? I have a gut so each end of front and back doesn’t meet on the side
With other companies an officer is typically measured and their vest is more of a custom fit so to speak. Safelife doesn't do any of that. They have basically stock sizes and a general guideline on height weight that will match with a stock size in most general cases. With those companies that do measurements and produce more custom fit vests the front panel and back panel will definitely overlap/meet together. With Safelife some people may get a traditional meetup/overlap of the front and back panels but some may not. I don't. I don't have a traditional body shape being 6'7" tall and a belly. My panels don't meet. If I got a larger size they would but I would also end up getting a vest with the panels being "too tall." Safelife makes an armored side panel for the sides and that's what I use to keep my sides protected.
Boycot Safelife defense. They do not own up to mistakes. Manager just repeats what his script tells him to say.
What mistakes?
Long story but I have emails to back up my side. So I’m not just complaining. It’s legit
I will say it was a fit issue and after many attempts to solve it, and sending pictures and safelife defense acknowledging that it was still too big. They are not willing to Taylor or replace the level 3A plus armor vest.
@@Pistolero- I knew going into it that they aren't tailor made vests. They just have several stock sizes. If you want a tailor made vest then I think Safariland is a good manufacturer. But their price is also way up there.
Okay thank you I think I may try that. I was going to take it into galls and see what they have to say about it as well. But I like your idea. I’m also not a stranger to sewing and may even try modifying it . But the hard part is that the panels them selves might still be to big. But I’ll take it one step at a time.
