I'm sad I missed this video until now. We never get to hear much from Hannes and he's such a chill guy. He looked like he really was enjoying the interview and all that credit goes to you for having great questions and a great process

How is it to be a Sabaton-fan during the pandemic. Listening to Sabaton, looking at Sabaton reaction videos, buying some merch, listening to more Sabaton, waiting for new albums. Pretty much the same as before, just without the concerts.

Funny to hear them talk about Tommy Lee and how under rated he is, etc. And how the personal side of his life etc over shadowed his playing. I'm pushing 50 yrs old and Tommy back in the day was always a "trailblazer" for drumming and making the drums part of the show. Back in those days Tommy was never considered under rated. I loved and miss the old Crue for sure. I've seen Crue live many times in the past 3 decades and Tommys playing still gets me. I did see Crue w/ Randy Castillo and Randy was a completely different monster behind the kit but its good to know I saw Crue w/ both those drummers. I also saw Randy w/ Ozzy as well and man that guy was under rated. But I never thought of Tommy as under rated. And Nicko has always been a legend. Been a Maiden fan since I discovered them in 83. I was 10 years old. Been a huge fan since then..Which is why I like Sabaton love the history lessons from both bands

Fantastic interview. I really liked when you were talking about the importance of showmanship and being entertaining, even as a drummer. Being entertaining and connecting with the audience is what makes a good band great. Can’t wait to watch a live performance again.

This was quite interesting. I love Hannes' drumming, but also his work in the cinematic of "Livgardet". This was quite "extra" ;-) My fav drummer is still Jimmy O. Sullivan, but he didn't run in front of a tank. He did chace ducks, but never a tank.

Damm I got into Hannes Van Dahl and A&P reacts in the last weeks and randomly this video appears. xD I'm playing drums myself and look a lot at his drumming.
    Perfect!

now that was one awesome interview! Thanx for doing this, and yeah I agree, sometimes we do see a band as a unit or a machine not the individuals.

Awesome interview, it was a real pleasure to hear you chat together! Felt super natural and it was a delight to hear more about Hannes' story with his drumming! I particularly enjoyed your statement at the end, it's so true that bandmembers are mostly disregarded as being their own person and not just a part of a band. Thanks for giving Hannes the space to talk about himself! Cheers from France!

Yo, P. Just want to tell you that you're such a comfortable interviewer. It feel like eavesdropping on two pals having a convo. As someone who works in communications and education I want to show this to my students. Can I, please?

His parents must be so proud of him. They also may think that enduring the noise of the drums really paid off.

Great interview! Love all music from sabaton and nightwish and much, much more, Before i was more focused on singers or total performance of the bands. But now i watch a lot of drumcams of Hannes. So impressive to watch upclose how he plays the drumkit

We have to hold it until late Feb as per label and band, it will be part of a larger release promotion. Plus we upload all interviews here first as a perk for Patrons.
