I mean he basically got fired from wrestling because one of his last matches I believe he was supposed to fight sting and Hardy’s music played for like 20 seconds before he came out and he was fucked up on pills and barley could stand so sting just pinned him in like 15 seconds and the match was over, along with Jeff Hardy’s prime.
You'd think with all the crazy hard drugs Jeff Hardy has done, he'd have aged poorly but crazy enough it doesn't looked like he has aged much. He probably has a special gene that allows him to get away with doing certain things that make your skin age faster.

Young Jeff didn't have a lot of tattoos; his canvas was clean-that's what gave him the flexibility and creativity to constantly renovate himself, over and over; time and time again. Jeff Hardy didn't want his act to get stale (just like any wrestler; it's a business) so he transmutated that creativity into other areas (enter getting real tattoos, not the temporary ones/body-paint; which is what the people loved to begin with). In turn-that decision watered down his act (which is what I feel you're trying to say in your comment) and I agree with you. But, Jeff made that decision to evolve his gimmick, in that way; this was ultimately his choice to make. I can't imagine Jeff Hardy trying to present himself the same way he did in the early 2000s, in 2023. It just wouldn't work. Had he stayed consistent with his point of origin-different story; but he didn't. The majority of Jeff's body is also covered in tattoos now. So it's not like he has a clean canvas anymore to paint over; Jeff's canvas has been painted, already.
As a person who hails from Brooklyn I speak for everybody from New York when I say we claim Jeff in the hood he was a hood favorite and beloved figure and nobody when lived there hated him you could help but like him

I was a kid when I started watching wrestling (my older brother forced me to haha) it was 2-3 months before Stone Cold Steve Austin’s iconic 3:16 speech. Now I’m 33 and going to be a father very soon. This might be weird but ain’t yall guys ever sit down, take a break and think about things like that: time flies so damn fast, we used to sit on the sofa with our siblings, cousins and friends as kids and watched wrestling and now we’re over 30 and still watching. Taker and Rey are introduced into the hof now (2 of my 5 most favorite wrestlers of all time). It’s kinda crazy seeing all those guys getting old now: Hunter, Taker, Rey, Kane, Hbk, Rock, Stone Cold, Mick, Hogan, Nash, Kurt,… and now Randy, Edge, Batista, Cena,… are on their way to disappear. Roman is the last larger than life wrestler, if he will loose his championships I think I will quit watching active wrestling and the era will end. The boy who loves watching those guys do crazy stuff in the ring will die and the chapter closes. I really don’t want to but I feel like we all need to let go somewhere. Crazy how time flies….
