Played on trombone in 8th grade ...... I just remember being like “ Wait , what ? We start clappin and shit ? “ I remember it being so easy to play our band director basically told us if we make mistakes while we were sight reading it we would be punished lol Love this!!!
T Twentrs im playing this right now, 3rd chair, so i play 1st trumpet and it's very difficult. i have braces and i can barely play high E, and we have to go above the staff🙃
I'm playing this in band right now. i got moved to 1st trumpet when we got a fourth trumpet player in our section and nearly passed out. but this has helped my range a lot. i love the piece.
I'm playing this a second time in 8th grade. I played it once in fifth grade where I was a second trumpet (4th chair overall) Now I'm in 8th grade, first trumpet first chair out of 14 trumpets. It really does build your range, and listening to this play through gives you a good idea of what to shoot for in sound quality. 👍
I was 1st chair tenor sax in 2004 and still have my sheet music! I have almost everything from jazz, concert, and marching band 😂 I'm teaching my kid how to play now!
I’m also playing this in high school band! Every time Mr. Harvey, the band director, says, “Take out Canto,” I’m like, “Yes!” because I love playing it!
played it in 7th grade honor band and in regular middle school band at the Iowa BandMasters Association( equivalent of a state championship) #tubaplayer. Going to IBA May 12, 2017 good luck🖒🖒
My band is split up Bc of rona and we had our first play through today! Sounds great! French Horn part is fun ;) but I’m seeing all these comments from almost a decade ago and they’re all middle schoolers, ouch 😳 but this piece still sounds epic!!
I remember when I played this in middle school as an 8th grader nearly 40 years ago! It was a tradition that lasted until my school closed in 2010.

HOW DO THEY LAY SO SMOOTH😕
Flying Turtles probs practice. (Either than or they’re more experienced).
They probably are in tuned and got a few tubas, baritone sax's and bass clarinets. They lay the main smoothness of the song.
a TON of practice and sectional rehearsals
