- Michael Law's Piccadilly Dance Orchestra perform Harry Wood's lovely song. Our version is adapted from the 1934 Ray Noble/Al Bowlly recording. The vocal is by band leader, Michael Law; pianist Martin Litton.
Our recording is widely available to download or on our CD 'Brighter Than The Sun', available from www.pdo.org.uk/store or bandcamp.
The song was memorably used in the movie ''The Shining' during the Ballroom scene and over the closing of the film.
This is our second video upload of the song and it was filmed and especially edited for us by Roger Keech.

Is that the Cafe de Paris between Piccadilly and Leicester Square and which during the war copped a direct bomb hit but by good chance wasn’t over damaged and fairly quickly able to resume its entries? That aside, thanks a million for showing this 1934 film and beautiful dancing ladies!

I'm pretty sure (no pun intended) that it is a Shure 55. IT has to be one of the longest-produced mics in the world. I bought a new one about 25 years ago. No circuit boards or anything modern inside it.
