- My friend mark asked me to fill in as KSHMR's LD for two weekends of shows, and things don't go exactly as planned. We start things off in Brooklyn, New York debuting the first KSHMR Live Experience with a full complement of live musicians, dancers, and production. Our second weekend was meant to be a fun-filled show at EDC Japan, but FedEx lost my passport and visa and left me without enough time to figure out how to get there.

FedEx ended up delivering my passport and visa 3 days late, after insisting they didn’t have it in their system. Really lame! At least I have my passport back, though. I feel your pain brother. I've had issues with FedEx, UPS and the USPS. They all drop the ball at some point. Just an ugly fact of life. They're people and people make mistakes. My biggest issue is being told that it's out for delivery and it never shows up!!!

Out of curiosity why did you FedEx your passport and Visa rather than have it on you?
If this happened here in brazil you could sue the transportation company for ''moral damages'' i think thats how its called (danos morais in portuguese which means any damage for your physical integrity or financial damages) and they would probably be obligated to refund you and pay you an certain amount of money (probably the same amount you would receive to do the job + airplane tickets you or the company had previously bought etc)

I am just a dj but I absolutely love a good light show, and when the club has one, I tend to play around with the light controller in the dj booth :D altho primitive, still gives a better vibe than just having automated lights going all night.

Any tips on starting with the MA? Just started working with it after years of companies like LSC and Jands.
Btw i'm working with the MA3 but ofc with the MA2 software
As Bradyn already said, download the onpc software and play around. There are many great RUclips tutorials and the MA online manual on their website is a godsend. If you have the money and time you could check if there are any console trainings in your area and visit the three day user training for a kick start.
Don't ever use FedEx, they lost my dell laptop twice in the mail. Didn't see it for a whole month.

Ouch, that's awful about your passport, but glad to hear you got it back eventually. Sure beats some rando walking around pretending to be you! Nice to see you upload again, thanks for always posting interesting stuff. I don't work on anything as big as you do, but many of your ideas have still been extremely useful.
I keep noticing that the top two executor buttons light up when you touch the faders - does that translate to any functionality inside MA itself, or is it just to highlight which fader you're touching so you are less likely to move the wrong one?

Hi Christian, how do you send the video footage to the screen in your MA3D stage screen?
Doesn't MA support RDM under the patch settings? you should be able to access and change fixtures from within MA over RDM without the need for a DMX cat - you just enable Global RDM under the console global settings submenu, then in a universe pool or via the patch only (live) tabs you can then individually see the RDM devices/universes, then under patch and fixture schedule you can press RDM devices and then you can edit and control RDM fixtures. If you want to do a quick scan to check whether the blinders are capable of RDM then you can just open up an RDM sheet from the sheets section for displays.
unless you were using an Artnet/sACN (whichever protocol as both support RDM data transmission) nodes/splitters which were not capable of RDM communication, in which case you obviously wouldn't be able to detect RDM devices through the MA, in which case you would need to use the DMX cat or run the DMX line directly into a DMX port on the back of the MA
The chances are that in a rig there would be multiple items that doesn't "speak" RDM. And either way, RDM kinda sucks, and unleashing that hell on the entire rig would probably be a certain way to give yourself a headache.
It absolutely does, but not through a node that does not speak rdm. And we didn’t have any dmx cable running from the desk.

Christian Jackson do you know what happens to that psr file after the show? Are they a one off sort of thing only made for that festival and they dissapear off into the ether? Reason i ask is i imagine many young techs would love a psr file from their favorite show or a show they aspire to run. It would be a hell of a learning tool.
