I know this is 2 years old but for anyone seeing this and reading comments. Use aluminum tape. It holds heat better and wont peel because it's meant to be on heat
No offense to you or your channel at all Appreciate you sharing your experience with this rack system. I have to say though this rack is seriously lacking quality control, they should have immediately paid postage to return this damaged rack and send you a brand new one in perfect condition without smashed corners and a poorly constructed divider. We all work extremely hard for our money so this kind of thing is unacceptable. Not to mention you don't ship heavy objects packed in peanuts, you professionally wrap it in shrink wrap with fitted foam or heavy cardboard protection on the inside of the shipping box You are an extremely nice person to let this company get away with not making this right. I apologize for the negative sounding comment but you definitely deserve better.
Mine will be comming soon and I don’t know why I’m stressing on the heat tape. Is it easy to use. I have a thermostat so do you think I will have no issues?
Ive been searching for an ideal place to put probes, everyone seems to do it different, you did it on the heat tape, and ive seen Olympus put his in the tub, which way is better or is it just preference?
Justin Personally I feel more safe putting the probe on the tape, that way the animal in the tub can’t move the probe at all. The way he does it, I wouldn’t be confident enough to attempt it since I’m not as skilled lol.
lol I rack my brain about whats right and wrongl, ive done both and then redid it because I doubted what I was doing, the heat is going to be more concentrated on the tape so to speak but is that heat transferring equally to the tub/sub/snake you know, just a tricky subject that nobody really covers
Justin You sound like me, lol. I always am redoing things and researching better ways to keep. Personally I’d say put the probe on the tape. Either way though, it’ll need to be checked occasionally to make sure all is well.
Justin Usually people have heat guns to check surface temperatures. So you setup the rack with a thermostat. Then pick around what the temp should be. After an hour or 2 if it's not heated to where it should be then simply turn it up or down until it's dialed in.

Would you recommend using paper towel for ball pythons on this rack if you have a issue with humidity being low in the room ?
It depends on the humidity in the tub, so if you get proper humidity levels while using it that is fine.

Gm Visuals That varies with many things like substrate, water bowl size, local humidity and ventilation so it’s depends.
