The guy is right, I am a South African living in the US and I can comfortably say Starbucks is awful if you compare it with South African coffee shops like Mugg and Bean and other smaller independent coffee shops.
@4:45 for the international audience, in SA we refer to instant mixed drinks as coffee even when it is actually a chicory and coffee blend. For example Frisco and Recoffee are actually Chicory drinks (25% coffee). This might give the impression that these are a lot cheaper than other instant coffees. @13:14 There is no sales tax on brown bread. All stores above a certain size have to supply what we refer to as Government loaf, this is baked in-store and doesn't have labelling. @13:52 current domestic oil production generally only covers 1/5 of our needs

Hellos fam, great video once again 👏 I'd like to say the reason regarding the exuberant price comparison of the electronics here in south africa has to deal with primarily Tax, import duties and custom duties. The main reason for the high price Is the fact that brands like Samsung, Apple etc do not operate from south africa, a cooperate would purchase these items and brand these store here as well as resell the items they purchased at a higher price. Therefore when new phones release for example the IPhone 15 later this year, it would be sold $100s of dollars more here.
Honestly I would be so happy to get a 40" T.V For $100. Unfortunately a 65" T.V is way too expensive well that depends on the brand. For example with Samsung you can expect to pay anywhere between $1000 - $3000 for a 65" T.V.
Thanks for sharing with us, fam! $1000 is wayyyy too much for a tv. We hope one of our South African cousins use this an opportunity to create a South African TV brand!
Yeah, in Ghana too those junk foods and unhealthier options are expensive but the organic foods from the farms and markets are wayyy cheaper like white bread and wheat bread, and white rice and brown rice

this guy couldn't describe these products in more detail for his international audience, I don't know if people outside our country got a clear picture of our prices here
I haven't paid TV licence in over 10 years, and I never will. I never watch SABC channels or TV for that matter. However, I need the TV for PlayStation. I do a lot of online streaming instead.
Unfortunately the prices have about increased 50% or more. We are only buying small specials to top up. Buying in bulk is unfortunately for me impossible. Its getting very hard to live. Petrol/gas is also extremely expensive😢
