That young guy who had the candy machine was so nice. To see someone that young restore something like that says alot about him..I really liked him. Glad you bought it..
I did restore since I'm 10 and I do even know kids who are younger who restore items it is normal dude
@@GertDekeysers😂
Yeah he seems like a very smart kid!
As products become harder to repair I worry that there will be less and less restoration as we move forward in time. I appreciate younger generations having an appreciation for older well designed products.
White excellence
Pete just created a junk flipping monster !! That kid was super pumped. Awesome
When you said 500 the kid looked so excited he was ready to jump for joy lol.I think you really made his week Pete.
I dont think that was joy 😂
@@killerbsting1621 That was joy
My thoughts exactly.
man was trying to play it off like damn thats it lol
I'm pretty sure originally the kid said he wanted $200 for it a few minutes before Peter's offer. That's awesome for him!
The way Honey hugs strangers is so adorable 😸
My ADHD was kicking in...I wanted to hear about the candy press restoration but theres also a whole love affair scene going on behind...
She absolutely loved that lady in the nightmare before Christmas shirt. That warmed my cold heart.
Hah yes it was so very sweet how she stood on her back legs and just wrapped herself around her shoulders so long before complety climbing on to her. Honey is a fluffy goddess of cuddles.
Lol 😂ikr?!
Honey: Wait! Why you put me on counter? I climbs back to happy place!
That young kid was so genuine and seemed like a really good kid. He was hoping for $200. He was so happy when u said $500.
When did he say 200? He said a few hundred.
That kid was thrilled to get 500 bucks
$300 is what he hinted at.
This!
It was a pleasure to see. I had to roll the video back as as I didn't expect that and thought Pete said 100 bucks
Let us watch the video, your comment shows up and ruins it
@@DJRoyalEdo Dont look at comments until after you've watched the video. Thats RUclips 101. Comments always have spoilers.
@@DJRoyalEdowhy are you reading the comments before you watch the video?😂
We need more young men like the guy with the candy machine. What a great guy.
Absolutely! Great lad will go far in life.
I was so happy for the kid. He though maybe $200 a the most. When u said $500 he didn’t know how to react. I remember my first sale after a pick . He found his calling he telling parents he quitting collage a becoming a picker . He will be in every dumpster he can find. An will be in there every week
Exactly what I was going to say. I don’t know if Pete didn’t hear him mention $200, but the kid was probably crapping his pants when he heard $500 and was figuring how to not bugger things up before Pete changed his mind
Really is a great channel . Pete & crew have great charisma ,& are straight shooters . Quality content 🤘❤
I thought he said a few hundred?
@@KevinKlugow he did
Kudos to the young man with the restored piece, did his research coming in and was able to offer some insight into what he brought.
Especially when the kid paid nothing...HA.
Respect to the young guy. He was very polite and knowledgeable.
19:15 I think we all wish 1991 was only 23 years ago lol!
Pete failed math class 😂
Haha!
for a second i thought i was still young :(
1991 was such an exciting year, many ups and downs.
I was like bruh… I was born in 1991 and couldn’t believe he said that. 😂😂
Ryan just randomly running across the shot after Peter clocked that car’s speed was hilarious 😅🤣
Clocked in at 25.3 mph! 🏃 quick break
@@eMemoryCard , Lol.
Agreed! Hilarious.
I literally giggled aloud at that moment! Perfectly timed!😂
Ryan's hilarious!!
Watching from Ireland , the young guy was over the moon with your offer . Great to see the kid taking the effort to maintain the candy press .
Nice to see a nice well mannered kid for a change...very rare nowadays
The young man with the candy machine was so nice and polite! I’m sure his parents are very proud of him. They did an excellent job raising him. It gives me hope for future generations!
Props to the kid, that deal made my day!. You can tell he spent some serious time with that roller. Thoughtful restoration!
LOL, that kid was stoked for the work he did. Good for him.
It's not "andreass" it's "andress", that thing is worth about $2k, maybe a lil more. The fact that he restored it makes it actually useful which will help to sell it.
Man, I cracked up when Ryan ran by the window when they were clocking the car. Nice job on the videos guys.
You DROP the sheet of candy once it's hard and it breaks apart, that's why some candy are referred to "drops"
You could see the young lads face light up about the restoration. He clearly enjoyed it and is passionate about it. Good job and wish him the best
Glad the kid got more than he wanted. Seemed like a genuine kid and loves old stuff !
What a fine young man with the candy machine. His parents should be proud.
Not saying he isnt, but its just crazy how people yhink they got people all figured out(good or bad) after a couple minute video?
I think it’s good that he restored it, because a lot of candy shops still use the rollers.
Honey giving that lady ALL the loves.
The young man in the blue coat was so excited he couldn’t contain himself. He started opening every pocket in his coat. He couldn’t believe he was getting 500 bucks.!
Dude was well chuffed with that $500.......bless him
That kid was flabbergasted about getting that much. I love it.
Hey Pete about that candy machine.... restoration like that are good. Also the biggest value part are the cylinders. A lot of candy shops would pay top prices to get those.
Peter if the candy machine wasn't restored "Well it would be worth more restored" .. Peter with the candy machine restored "It would be worth more if it was original"
I am so happy I found this channel about 6 months ago. This is actually my favorite youtube channel hands down! Im not sure what it is pete and his team does to make the episodes so good but somebody knows what they are doing! I love it
Same
how do those boots taste?
Same here- I'm actually a minimalist irl, but Pete is just so great to watch.
18:54 Had me dying laughing when he ran across the window 😂😂😂
19:10 That‘s wrong, Pete. It‘s already 33 years ago 😏 Thanks for the great video! Have a good day! Lukas from Dortmund, Germany 🇩🇪
Pete, take that handle to a foundry and gat it cast. Get 50 made, sell the rest. A small foundry would do it. There's one in Collins WI, Union Brass. You can drop it off on the way to Door County.
Kid reminds of my son, great to see these young people getting away from their screens and getting their hands dirty.
This young man is going to be successful in life glad you gave him a good deal on the candy roller the excitement in his face was worth every dollar out of your pocket great content
Awesome young seller, he was very happy with your $500 offer, Happy seller & Happy buyer :)
Im guessing closer to 1000 wouldve been a fair offer, but without good comps i guess its harder.
Let's track Kevin on his bike 😅😅😅. Candy 🍬 shaper was very cool. Cool that young man took the time to bring it back to life
I am a retired USPS retail supervisor. If the package is 8 ounces or so, they should have offered the customer the 1st class parcel rate, $4.00 or so. That's bad customer service IMO.
Pirate ship is an absolute must when shipping packages. Love the videos.
The young guy with the candy machine, you made very happy. He was only expecting or hoping for about $300. Thanks for the videos. Love them. Hope you're doing well. Take care.😊
Happy for the young guy. He deserved it. You can tell he's a good kid. Thanks for doing him right 👍
Pete I think you forgot 660 - 669, nice what you did for the kid with the candy machine. Love your show!
I love how the cat is back there milking that girl holding it.
Much respect for not just giving that kid the 200 he was asking. Went above and beyond
Didnt he say he was hoping for a few hundred? Why is everyone saying 200? Maybe i misheard, but i swear it was "few hundred".
Hi Peter and crew,
I'm newer to your channel and enjoy it very much. I'm from Philadelphia and just wanted to chime in on the video.
Olac & Sons were a very reputable coppersmithing business. They were big in the business in copper pots, pans, parts of that nature.
I know you always do your homework but that is a really great piece from people who made wonderful quality items, especially for that time period.
Love your videos, love Ruby and Honey. Thank you for the entertaining content. I know its alot of work. Cheers!
Awesome educational video, it was nice to see Tom Cruise selling his candy machine. I learned how to type and write essays on a truly manual typewriter with no autocorrect or spell check, that everyone was tough times. I also remember "learning" how to do syntax on early computers thinking that we will never use computers in the future. LOL as I watch Pete and his crew.
Excited for your steampunk interest 😁
It be cool to have some reoccurring sellers especially if it’s cool random stuff. Like the kid that borough in the candy press an the radar gun.
Perfect eBay item that radar gun is !! Perfect for the jet ski racers down Florida they track how fast they go in the small canals down there in Miami and close areas on there jet skis
Great offer you gave the kid! You both win and i like how open and fair you are no matter the age!
I swear dude some people are just born to be wealthy. Like that young kid bringing in two of the coolest items worth good money. I bet that stuff fell in his lap and I bet you will see him every few episodes now and he will become a reseller. I swear man its like some people are living a second life and its like they must have been a good person in the past and they have the ultimate luck ability in this life. Im so jealous.
This mindset will keep you from becoming wealthy
some people are lucky no doubt
@@chrism4008 I enjoy being poor. Im just jealous he found cool items!
You can do the same, if you are physically able. And I've done some on the side, and its not all grins and giggles, not by a long shot. Some buyers, not a lot but a few, are outright Aholes. Some rather smaller fraction than that are out to scam you.
You spend a LOT of time sourcing, often finding not much in an entire day out. And then it has to actually sell. There is a lot to learn, and he just learned a very valuable lesson there, meaning that if he hadn't restored it, he would have walked away with about a K, rather than $500. There is definitely a learning curve. We used to source mostly from estate sales. When you buy a lot from them, you can usually get a significant break on prices, especially after they see you do it multiple times. Go just hours before the end, and they are MUCH more willing to bargain, because if it doesn't sell, they get just pennies on the dollar from people that buy out the dregs, wholesale, or they have to take the time to go put on auction the few expensive items that are worth doing that for.
If you sell on ebay, video tape your packing sessions, it does absolute wonders when buyers try to pull garbage on you. We won every single time, but there is work in doing that, and for cheap items, it isn't worth it. Strangely, or not, cheaper items is usually where it happens, at least in our experience.
@chrism4008 I think his comment was kinda dumb but I bet you aren't wealthy yourself
The kid was very happy with the sale. The restoration might not be the greatest, but kudos for him for trying to do this and learn. Hopefully he will do more of this stuff:).
I've seen one of these bigger machines restored here on RUclips. Top notch restoration. He could learn a lot from it.
Yes, when you run the candy through the machine, you wait for the whole thing to harden. You can then just drop the whole thing on the table and it will break into single pieces of candy. Very satisfying to watch:).
Pete we need a tour of the store man
That young man will remember you for the rest of his life.
Interesting video Pete. Liked this one before Otto asked.
Peter your videos always lift
Me up and give me something to look forward to during rough times man. ❤
3:13-3:22 Pete’s face haha he was having so much fun with the key prank 😎🤣👍
Be careful and watch Pete closely if you are ever in the shop as far as him counting out your change. He calculated from 1991 to 2024 was 23 years (exactly) Keep an eye on him :-)
I've said it once and I'll say it again, my favorite thing in your videos is the customer interaction! I've learned so much from just observation about the resell business! God's Blessings on You and Your business! Stay Safe 😊
That kids got a future..in anything he wants to do. Refreshing to see a young man thats not just on tiktok all day
The box is a snap on jewelry box. It was a chrysler gold tool award given to five star technicians. It came with draw liners and a black hard handle snap on philips head screwdriver .
Young man was very nice and polite and he was stoked you offered him $500.
The cat stole the show in the background
Honey was giving out free hugs and you didn’t even mention it Peter.
I like how Pete talked the young man like any other customer and not like a child
This was a fun video! 😺💖Meow!
I appreciate how far you are to everyone, even when you could probably pay much less for certain items. Like the candy maker
Pete, You are very generous. Paying 50% is incredible to begin with considering the overhead. The kid said he wanted a couple hundred. You can see he was anxious about selling it for money when he paid zero. He's gonna be hooked now and will pay for college with his picks!
lol. That cat in the background giving that other customer a hug
Minature Black box could make a cool jewelry box.❤
That kid has a big future ahead of him.
Can’t believe that lady didn’t jump at $35.00 when Peter offered for that typewriter. The young guy that refinished the candy press was happy with the $500.00, he told Peter earlier in the video that he’d like to get a couple hundred for it. 👍👍🇨🇦
Exactly. I wouldn't pay a dollar for a typewriter. They're not coming back and nobody cares she did her term papers on that typewriter during the first world war.
No he didnt. He said a "few" hundred.

honey was really loving up on the customer.
cat in the background during the candy machine piece - ADORABLE! wanted megggga huggz
I love hearing you butcher the English language, it's so funny and entertaining. I laugh right out loud. I also get a kick out of old farts saying, "It's been a minute" or "let's gooooo" Too funny.
@1:30 - Also, the brown paper wrapping is frowned upon by the post office because it can tear and the label will be gone. Also, it adds weight to the package, so just stick with recycling plain brown boxes (free from most stores). If you absolutely have to use the paper, ALL surfaces and seams need to be completely covered in packing tape.
I stopped doing labels in general. I just use the QR code now so they can scan and print at the office. The only down side is standing in line but it saves you money when you are not buying ink all the time.
That radar gun looks like the ones we used in my MP company, during the 80s.
That is a nice candy press its amazing how long those old candy machines last.
that run by!!! lmaooooo had my cracking up keep up the videos!!
Can’t stop watching your videos
That cat loves hugs.
that candy maker would be great for making ground beef jerky
Honey has a new friend.
i love how wholesome your channel is. the videos, the customers, the pets, even the commenters! keep it up!
Isn't it great to see a young lad of 18 years old having the interest to restore that old candy press machine?
He seems like a decent honest young man, who was delighted with what he got for his work....glad he got it for nothing and made some money.
I hope he makes some more money out of finding and restoring old relics....good on you kid!
Your spot on with the thermal printer advice, that's for true
Greetings to all, Pete I have come to hear the beginning of your videos as a mantra. " Hey guys, get over here" just sends me to a happy place. Thanks alot your good medicine for someone pinned down at home. Hope to see some great stuff coming in and you find some interesting things. Ohan Mitakuyaoyasin ( we are all related)
Pete, make a simple mold for the old Caboose Handle! You could easily cast another iron copy of it to help match up north at your place!
And you don't even have to buy a printer now for shipping labels you could use the QR code but make sure you're buying your labels off of eBay for the discount
The Radar gun, I use that exact same one for traffic enforcement. Then they came out with the Lazers. It was pretty accurate.
Thanks for doing what you do!
Great tip on shipping cheaper and the handle may be close to 100 years old. Thanks
Good on you, Pete for giving the young fellow $500 instead of the few hundred he was suggesting.
Seems like a good guy.
Yeah things worth 1500 hundred
Be very careful what you say in front of that African Grey Parrot.... One day he will repeat it , mine got me in trouble with the wife 🤣🤣🤣
You can take that handle to a foundry and they can copy it in cast.
I've got farm equipment over a 100 years old that my Granddad had and we still use them on the farm.
MY POST OFFICE told me that putting FRAGILE on your package means nothing to the carrier. They told me that if MY package could be dropped from waist height and NOT break then I packaged it well. It's up to US to package our items properly. The Post Office is not responsible for breakage unless the box is smashed/crushed. Trust me on this one because it has happened to me several times, sending and receiving.
Always look forward to seeing your new videos
