In 2011 a company took up the insane mission to reopen the park, the waterslides have been removed to make way for new constructions. The reason its not got anywhere yet is due to "The reason for the hold up is Chase Bank kept the funding for this
project handed to the branch manager. It's own lawyers admitted it cannot find our deposit."
The "Big Bopper" waterslide was dismantled and shipped to Canada. It is now "Colossal Canyon" at Cultus Lake Waterpark near Vancouver.
The waterpark was used in the lyric video for "Reapers" by the British rock band Muse.
The park was originally designed and built by local businessman Bob Byers for use by his extended family. Lake Dolores was named after Byers' wife.
The initial phases of conception, planning and construction took place in the late 1950s and early 1960s

Jared Medina was a 24-year-old father involved in a physical altercation between 1 and 3 a.m. on Jan. 5th, a call was made into Las Vegas police at 7:02 am and they found him lying dead on the sidewalk upon arrival. It was determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the back. He was an aspiring punk rock superstar, not only playing the drums - but singing and playing guitar for his band, Off Color. They say he was visiting his girlfriend in the same area the day of the murder and if anyone has any information please contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. Prayers to his family, little girl, and countless friends.

I remember coming to this park has I lived out in the desert in the early times, it was the water cost that closed it down. To expensive to get the water out to the desert. Just like the Orchards of Peaches and Fruit Ranches that went under. Good old Water closed this place down. Creepy today

Richmond indiana has an abandoned hospital that I actually had my child in back in the day . And Centerville indiana (right next to it) has a really creepy two story brick house by cornfields that used to be used as a hospital for civil war I think then turned into a place where people would have saunces. Then in Winchester indiana there is a haunted insane asylum in the middle of nowhere before town. Next to it is a 4h land that I had to stay at that gave me bad vibes
