Eric Cantona gave us that belief that we could finally win the league. The young lads looked up to him and the fans loved him. I've seen a lot of interviews of Eric and his love for the people of Manchester is genuine. Denis was the King before him and Eric was the King for my generation. 🇾🇪
great vid fella's. total acess to the CO92. amazing. why is it a dream to have a proper DOF with the legends as ambassadors that help secure the deals we really need?!?! imagine Eric Catona being in the room to show why potential signings should sign for United! or giggs or scholesy or any of our abundant legends who could sell the project for a DOF who only wants United to win everything. Ole needs backing! yes he's inexperienced...yes he's learning on the job but i also bet he's very quickly learned how much our owners don't want to win everything, just secure 4th so the deals keep coming in! long live the King and all the CO92! hopefully one day they'll take over and bring the glory days back again. True club legend. No doubt he helped play a significant role in increasing standards throughout the club, raising the bar, setting the tone for a sustained period of dominance on the pitch

The day they build a statue to Cantona at Old Trafford to Eric Cantona, every United fan, of any generation, will stand before it to pay homage. In my 60 years a fan, I've never seen his like and never will again. All hail King Eric.
@@blairmarshall544 think your missing the point if SAF hadn't of signed Cantona the last 20 years wouldn't not have happened the class of 92 wouldn't have been as good or dedicated, look at the who they came through to cantona, Robson, Keane, Hughes, schmeicl all winners but the 1st win was most important 1 and it was only possible because of the influence of Cantona just to help push the club over the line. He changed everything about the club
It's funny Wes Brown is the 4th ex Utd player I have heard state that every time Cantona stepped into a room, the room went quiet due to his presence and star quality. The other 3 being: Robson, Ince and Hughes. This just shows the aura and charisma of Cantona. He stood out like no other. Total legend!
King Cantona is why I support United. In the 90s in America we didnt get that many games on tv here but seeing him and his skill and how he glided around the pitch set in stone my support. Legend

I remember being not pleased when Utd bought Cantona from Leeds. I didn't want a player from that Leeds team at Utd. But my Pal, who was a City fan, said that he was the missing piece for United. And he was right.
And I will never forget I went to Irlam to visit my grandparents who run the white horse at the time, and watched the fa Cup final and the King scores that beautiful volley the technique just to get that volley on target was something else there will never be anyone like him again long live King Eric!!!!

Watched that game on a 21" tv in my mates sitting room with his family and the volume from the tv and the people in the room made it feel like I was at the ground. Great days.
Aside from the skills, the goals, the influence and the magic of Cantona the player, I just miss the days of men of real grit and integrity in the game. If the Selhurst park Kung Fu kick happened today, the player would just use it to extract a huge transfer deal out of the club. I knew about Eric only from sports newspapers but finally being able to watch him live on TV was AMAZING! Giggsy was my most favourite player at the time because he was very young and left footed and I was aspiring to be like him but of course Eric was something else. Quite simply The King, what a player and what a man, born to play for Manchester United and Fergie especially, thanks for so many amazing memories Eric. Please chaps may I post this great story up here? I found this a few weeks ago as it happens, I live in Boothstown, the place where Eric lived at one point (we moved here a while later so I dont know the exact details of Eric's stay here) but this is a wonderful story found on the net: Back in the late 90's I worked at a classical horse stud and german shepherd kennels close to boothstown which is just past worsley.I worked on the dog side of things and a couple of girls worked with the horses.Although I never rode horses myself I often used to tag along, with a dog on a lead, just to be around as the horses were stallions and liable to go nuts at any given opportunity. Also sorry for being un PC but it was also a good chance for a good old fashioned perv.Anyway this one day I went out with one of the girls called Kate and she was riding a fine andalucian stallion called tanaj,we decided to take a short cut through the housing estate in boothstown,it was a very ordinary housing estate 3 bedroom semi detached kind of estate.Eric Cantona came striding up a driveway and started waxing lyrical about the orse,he knew what breed it was and everything he was firing all kinds of questions at kate,I was gob smacked to tell you the truth,Eric was my absolute hero at that time,if i would of spoke I would have said something really daft,I think I let out a mmmm when he stroked the dog and said nice dog.I looked at Erics feet and he was wearing slippers.Tanaj decided that now was the time to have the mother of all turds, right in front of le'king.Eric told us to wait there and buggered back down his driveway only to re-emerge with a bucket and a shovel,he wanted the horse shit for his garden.I remember a lad, must of been his son booting an old casey in the front garden, from where Eric came from he must have been having a kick a bout with his lad.Was one of the most surreal moments of my life.I just couldnt belive that someone like Eric would live in such an ordinary house on such an ordinary street,in an ordinary town like Boothstown. It makes it harder to belive nowadays with footballers buying entire hamlets and building 18 bedroom mansions or the cheshire set with their purpose built pads in prestbury. Oh and that girl Kate on the horse,i married her. 👍👍👍 keep up the great work chaps.
Amazing. I dont care what enigmatic foreign player arrives at a club today, that kind of thing will not be seen again. Eric was a one off in an era that was a one off.
Use to love violet when he headed the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. But the stance when Eric scored , and his song at Christmas tops that
I’m from the States. Was 10 years old when I got into the game and fell for Rooney and Van Persie. I then did my research on the club and stumbled upon King Eric. An absolute class player and absolute enigma on the pitch. A club legend and I’m proud to call myself a United fan. GGMU
Cantona is my all time favourite player, we’ve lost great players but when Eric retired way too early, I was gutted 😞, he was magical he was the complete player, nothing was impossible for the king .. bloody glad he wore the red shirt for us, he is immortal in my eyes.
Wow what can I say about eric he was for sure the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle he bought the best out of all that played with him I was lucky enough to witness his greatness in the 92 93 season god we miss him a complete one of king eric a hero of mine
Sometimes the word legend is given out too easy but Eric Cantona is truly a legend . I was surprised he retired when he did and he has never and will never be replaced .
Wow il never forget the feel around the club after signing eric in 92 93 season he really was the final piece of the puzzle he always come good when needed wow what a team we had then so fond memories of that season
@John Hudson Agreed - Cole is not fit to lace Cantona's boots. You summed it up very well. He was a goal hanger who would miss umpteen chances in one game until he finally scored one. Cantona has the skill, charisma, panache and ability that Cole could not get anywhere near to. He was literally just an overrated goal hanger as you said so well.
Quality video lads. Eric was simply the best. Scored some amazing goals but the one that stood out for me was against Sunderland chipped right into the top corner. Also his comeback game against Liverpool. When we got the penalty you knew he was gonna step up for it. The guy was a genius. 👏🏻
I love the man more than I love my wife and as much as I love my son...which is quite a lot! I'm 38 and I still idolise him like I did when I was 14 and I first saw him play live on TV. My hero forever! Undoubtedly a folk hero for all United supporters. There will never be another player of such stature, to singlehandedly transform the fortunes of a massive but struggling club and all the players around himself! Superhuman! Oh, we drink, we drink, we drink to Eric, the King, the King, the King, he's the leader of our football team, he's the greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen!
I've only been to Old Trafford once (in 1994) and there was a huge billboard near the ground saying something like '1966 was a great year for English football. Eric was born.'
I’ve never seen Man U play live or had ever been to old Trafford, 10 years ago I drove from London to Manchester for a meeting, I went to old Trafford early in the morning to see the ground it was deserted, I walked through the security bollards and security stopped me and said the ground is closed sorry no access, I said I had driven a long way and had always planned on seeing the ground, security got on his mobile phone next moment I was being waved in and told to go to the shop, they let me in with such a warm welcome, I was blown away by the overwhelming history, there were giant Cantona banners everywhere, it was a strong emotion of which I will always remember. A very special place. Thanks.
I'm 44 years old. Diego Maradona got me into soccer in '86, and Eric Cantona got me into the Premier League in '92 when the games started being televised in the States. Not a United fan, but he was so dominant and a joy to watch. I still religiously watch the Premier League now 30 years later....thank you "King" Eric.
A true legend in every sense. A legend to football, to Man United and the game lacks these players and characters! A truly special player and person, THE King!
Love that! And I’d find it hard to argue with him, we have a wealth of amazing proud history but he arrived at a difficult time but perfect to light up our team club and fans for some of the best moments I’ve ever seen on football pitches what a player what a man he was my favourite
There’s so many great memories of King Eric. One of the best bits of skills I have seen was at Nottingham Forest away match in the 96/97 season when he caught the ball on the outside of his foot from a cross from Beckham, juggled it up a few times and then lobbed the goalkeeper. The shot hit the bar but I think Ole or Giggsy nodded it in. The man could do the most sublime things with a football.
Hey guys I will never forget the day I met Eric, I was working at man airport & I saw him, there is an aura around this guy, it's magical. He was waiting to board his flight, I walked over to him & splurted out "please can I have your autograph", the guy was so polite & humble what a true gentleman. Favorite player in my time (50yrs) genius.
The fact Eric played for Leeds Utd and was loved and adored by Utd fans tells you just how special he was! No1 will ever come close to being the player he was!
I was there when he scored his first goal for us at Chelsea in the rain. Going mad on the old north stand at Stamford bridge. I didn’t think he would have that much of an impact on our club though. The king.
I think Webby was on about season 1995/1996 when Eric was scoring wining goals 1-0 against Arsenal & Tottenham en route to the League & FA Cup double. Don’t remember every myself as I was 12/13 that time it’s deffo that season was on about.
I would love to have seen Eric as manager but not at the expense of Oli...I just want to see him on that bench after inspiring the lads before the game or after half time. I think he could still inspire magic.
We went to Arsenal the Saturday after we signed him on the Thursday and remember the bus rocking as we got near Highbury we were going mental singing Ooh Ah Cantona, which was the Leeds chant for him. United soon adapted that to fit the Marseillaise tune - much better. The matches following his return from his ban he seemed to score every game 1-0 to United.
Certainly the most charismatic player United have had in my lifetime. It wasn't just the players around him who were inspired, the fans adored him and always will. Thank you Howard Wilkinson for selling him, thank you Sir Alex for buying him and thank you Monsieur Cantona for gracing Manchester United with your presence. 1966 was a great year for English football............. Back in the late 90's I worked at a classical horse stud and german shepherd kennels close to boothstown which is just past worsley.I worked on the dog side of things and a couple of girls worked with the horses.Although I never rode horses myself I often used to tag along, with a dog on a lead, just to be around as the horses were stallions and liable to go nuts at any given opportunity.
But the stance when Eric scored , and his song at Christmas tops that
The Rock n' Rolla of English Football ⚽... King Eric 🔥
I LOVE THIS CLUB MANCHESTER UNITED 4 LIFE
💯👊🏻
Eric cantona the king still the best birthday ever scoring in is come back game against the scousers October 1st
I was at the match ... good times!
Arsenal fan, but Cantona was pure class, as were Giggs and Andy Cole. Worthy rivals, unlike today's social media-obsessed, over-tattooed divas.
Well said. Although I am not a fan of Giggs and Cole but I fully agree with the social media obsessed tattooed divas bit!
@John Hudson 👍🏼
Topgezzer !! Giggs had an incredible career. What are you taking about ? I agree with the Cole comment though.
what a great derby the other day tho!
long live the King...King Eric will forever Man. United King..
Had old Trafford rocking!! Never been the same since
I know this vid is about The King, but I always thankful for Wes and John O'Shea. They always there when we need them and always deliver.
Éric is my name, l'm French and my number was the 7. How l could 't like the king. ❤
Quality video lads. Eric was simply the best. Scored some amazing goals but the one that stood out for me was against Sunderland chipped right into the top corner. Also his comeback game against Liverpool. When we got the penalty you knew he was gonna step up for it. The guy was a genius. 👏🏻
Eric the king 🤴🏻 cantona 🙌🏽
Thanks.
Not many players turn around the fortunes of a club like Cantona did.. Before Eric Man u were up there but with Eric they were there. Legend
Called my first born Eric 18yrs ago, kind of tells you what I think of Eric the king
Ohhh ahhh Cantona ohhh ahhh Cantona. Ohh ahh ohh ahhh Cantona
More than just a footballer, but we still loved watching him on the pitch.
Best Cantona performance for me was Vs forest at Old Trafford. 4-1. He commanded that pitch like an emperor.
The king 👑 is the reason I love this club with all my heart ❤️👹 long live king Eric
Always the King❤️
A true legend in every sense. A legend to football, to Man United and the game lacks these players and characters! A truly special player and person, THE King!
Eric cantona is the reason why i supported Utd. 👍
A great reason to start!
A complete hero of mine. Legendary.
My dad is 68 years old & argues his point to any1 who would listen that eric is uniteds greatest player. Loves him
King Cantona was a different level 😍
Your dad's a United fan so i'm guessing you are too? 🔴👀
Love that! And I’d find it hard to argue with him, we have a wealth of amazing proud history but he arrived at a difficult time but perfect to light up our team club and fans for some of the best moments I’ve ever seen on football pitches what a player what a man he was my favourite
I'm not a Man U supporter but there's no taking anything away from Eric Cantona!
Nice job lads. thank you for putting that together
No1 will ever come close to being the player he was!
cantona and schmeichel two of the greatest signings ever .
Eric is the greatest for his stamp was on the team and the club, loved him, best ever
Maverick of Manchester
Great clip, Hail The King! (his chants will never die)…
Cantona is my favourite footballer ever! Enough said! Ooh Aah Cantona!!!
As a kid the Lawman was my hero. I thought the first and last king of Old Trafford then along came King Eric. Amazing
There will never be another like him. Forever and ever x
Ruthless, always in the right position, took no shit, very talented and a leader.
A Manchester United player 👌🏼
He was just brilliant
The 'best thing that happened to English football in 1966' poster captured this genius of the game. May we find the next king.
Eric Cantona - Dieu ❤️🇾🇪
92 as kid i played football but had a friend with sky sports. first game see utd eric play. Made me support the team he played. And always utd
My 1st ever game was the Spurs 1-0 youse we’re talking about, unbelievable still get goosebumps
My favourite Man U player along with Giggs, Keane, Olé and Berbatov
... Just loved the guy.
For me it goes: Messi court jester : Ronaldo the prince & Cantona the King 👑. Long live the King. Great piece gents.
You’re not early 00s fan of Manchester United
@@10second93 oh, there's a place for Ole but Eric's impact is Legendary
Honest and hardworking the creators… very relatable noice ❤
Certainly the most charismatic player United have had in my lifetime. It wasn't just the players around him who were inspired, the fans adored him and always will. Thank you Howard Wilkinson for selling him, thank you Sir Alex for buying him and thank you Monsieur Cantona for gracing Manchester United with your presence. 1966 was a great year for English football............. Eric the King was born!!!
