Exactly my thought. The way she's saying this as if it isn't her fault and also doesn't indicate her children have also been sexually abused. Then saying 'my 3 year old watches porn' as if they chose to do it, as Ethan said they have no concept of sex.
2:09:40 I’m sorry, but I cannot gloss over the poor kid saying “what’s happened to him is his fault.” He’s so brave to escape and yet does not quite fully comprehend that he’s a victim not a perpetrator :/ I really hope the kids all get the love and help they need…
People don't understand why kids don't talk about what happens at home and it's because they are made to feel that they are in trouble and have earned the consequence. Thank goodness that neighbour didn't just walk them home and have a "behind closed doors" mentality! So many kids will say something once and not get the appropriate response and it reinforces their view that they are the problem 😞
The neighbors that had made previous CPS calls were quoted saying that they were terrified that they would see a body bag from the home. I can guarantee the entire community knew how bad it was; school district, neighborhood, extended family, everyone. I've worked with families that I wasn't sure if I would see their child at school the next day / was terrified of receiving *that* news after CPS reports did nothing. The system is very broken and this is another example of it failing. I bet everyone in that community had a sigh of relief to see that mom in prison.
It is true. Usually teachers can tell if something bad is happening to kids. Sad thing there is so little support for them and almost no resources, at least in my country. There recently was a case in my town when abused 12 year old boy came by himself to the police station. For a long time everyone suspected something at school, it was clear the child wasn't properly took care of and acted strangely.
Body bag(s). I know that's what you're saying on the same level, but wanted to point out the neighbors thought multiple dead children would be pulled out. So sad.
Raising Hope did a great episode where the cps system was so backed up that the cps person showed up to investigate a 5 year old and he was now 25 lmao
At first I was surprised that Ruby didn’t just use Jodi as a scapegoat and blame everything on her, since even that would be a better defense than what she provided. But her defense being essentially “the kids deserved it” shows how deep her psychopathy goes.
Definitely suffering from Antisocial Personality Disorder, among what is sure to be a laundry list of other mental disorders. She needs to be kept away from the general population.

And i 1000% percent believe Ruby doesn't want her son around other kids bc she doesn't want him to realize how absed he really was. Rest in piss, you monsters
@@SeamusLeGrisCourtesy of Urban Dictionary: Butt Rock A style of hard rock & heavy metal music that is watered down both musically and lyrically to garner maximum radio play and mainstream acceptance. Lyrical themes are drawn from a put-on “tough guy / bro” persona, and include being a badass, getting lots of pussy, strippers, partying, and being betrayed or alone. Image wise, butt rock bands typically consist of guys in their mid-30s with spiky hair, Affliction t-shirts, and bad tattoos (usually barbed wire or tribal). The typical fan emulates this fashion style and exhibits what they think are “manly” personality traits, such as frequently drinking energy drinks, driving an unnecessarily large truck, and otherwise overcompensating for an insecurity in their masculinity. They also tend to have a superficial knowledge of metal music, being familiar only with bands that receive regular radio rotation. Examples of butt rock bands include Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry, Nickelback, Disturbed, and Three Doors Down.
Ruby is obviously a terrible human being-but I don’t think many really how deep this shit goes with Jodie. She’s the main therapist the LDS bishops recommend their people to. There was an interview done with Jodie’s niece and a husband who had undergone her therapy sessions with his wife before. Their stories are horrifying, and it seems systematic with Jodie. If Ruby is bad, Jodie is evil
Remember that using LDS is technically correct and will keep people from being confused about what church you refer to, but it's also important to not let them distance themselves from the history attached to the name Mormons. I've already had people ask me if they're the same thing. Don't let them escape their past.
I believe, based on Jodi's history, that Jodi and Ruby are going to try to pin the blame for all of this stuff the kids supposedly did on Kevin, the husband. That's going to be the way they try to escape responsibility.
Even in her vlogs the kids have serious like trauma/anxiety issues. Julie gets this eyes/face twitch everytime ruby talks to her. Russel would get panic attacks. They'd cry so hard at the drop of a hat in total fear over the smallest things like getting caught hiding a stuffed animal in their backpack. There's one clip where she tells the youngest, Eve, to get her shoes on to go to the movies, she politely asks "what movie?" And the mom relentlessly scolds her for asking and tells her she is being ungrateful, even calls the babysitter while the kid is apologizing and she's ignoring her. Then she makes her hug her and like officially apologize again in front of the camera while she says she won't take an ungrateful kid to the movies. She is so sick.
What Ruby said in court makes me think the kids really escaped death. She gives me Lory Vallow vibes. She was in the begining of a coult with that lady.
Meh I could see my neighbors say that about me just for being different so I wouldn't always say that. She is a bad lady but I am just trying to keep to myself, I don't want trouble. I bet they say that just cuz I don't go to church.
I just wanna say shoutout to the neighbor who helped that boy and shoutout to the dispatcher that took the call cause they were both so strong in staying calm
Oof the neighbor crying on the 911 call when he realized the kid had wounds from the duct tape 💔 That instantly made me cry too, you can just tell how awful it must have looked in order for his reaction to be so sudden and intense despite being very calm up until then
there are 3 possibilities for why she would say her child is a molester. 1. given what jodi's niece has said, jodi gets visions and dreams from god that her clients are committing sins and unless they admit to it her abuse gets worse. so russel most likely admitted to it just to get her to stop saying he was doing it and punishing him. 2. child on child sexual assault is a learned offence. most children who do it are introduced to sex through sexual assault that is made out to be a game by an older family member or friend, they then try and play the game with other children their age. which would mean someone in her life has assaulted her child and rather than get help or report it she simply locked him up in her business partners basement. 3. it's all a lie and she's trying to punish him for getting help. either way, locking him in the basement with his little sister is the dumbest thing that she could possibly do. i really hope that jodi's niece is called to the stand in this case. her own case against jodi has been reopened after 10 years and there are a lot of similarities in what she did to the niece and what she did to the franke children. i hope the judges and possible jury aren't part of the church so that justice can actually be served
Yes i hope they charge her with the crimes against jessi, and yeah is there a chance that the trial can be held in a different state to get away from the church?
Spot on. And if it’s number 3, she’s pure evil trying to punish the kids. She knows that they can’t be placed all together with dad or even her sisters, because they have kids… keeping them isolated so they can’t talk to each other and trying to keep the control. Sick. Either possibility is sick.
Number 1 sounds the strongest to me. Considering he even had the exact same punishment. I could see her brainwashing Ruby into believing that her dreams were real. Ugh this whole thing just makes me sick
That 911 call really makes it feel even more real to me. Not that i think it isnt real, but hearing about it just doesnt sink in the same way. That neighbour's compassion and empathy is palpable, and its nice to hear real is still a thing
Does anyone else find it so attractive how ethan unapologetically thirsts over thor the lumberjack to the point where he just casually called him daddy lmaoo. Ethan is setting the bar so high for these men. And the fact that hes so open about mental health… its just so nice to see a man like that a lot of us dont usually lol. Daddy ethan 😌
Okay but Dan is literally the voice of the people. I was jamming along with ethans mix of the song up until a point where I was like, alright I'm over it I'm going to skip forward a bit and that exact moment dan was like we gotta stop. Ethan is the hero we deserve but dan is the hero we need.
I can imagine that boy "confessing" to abusing 20 kids because Jodi was forcing the confessions out of him. Basically, she had a vision he was a molestor so then she would abuse him until he gave a false confession. Ethan is right - 3 year olds can't navigate devices to seek out p word. They don't know what it is and even the smartest ones can't get to it. My kid is so far advanced intellectually and at 3, couldn't have done that. We also need to remember that a tik tok dance was "p word" to Ruby. He could have been a baby watching RUclips and a racy music video came on, and so then she decided he was watching p word. Either way, true or not, this all starts in the home. Kids don't compulsively s*xually abuse others unless it's been done to them. I work in a field where I see it and EVERY SINGLE TIME a kid did this, he was acting out what an adult or older kid did to him. Most of them time, they were so young, it was all they knew, and they didn't know it was wrong. I remember one kid being proud, because his mom pimped him out his entire life and he was proud of doing certain things "the way she showed me". He had ZERO concept of it traumatizing other kids and it wasn't even s*xual to him, it's just what he was taught to do and was rewarded for. Kids don't have any concept of s*xuality. Anyway, It's sick. Horrific.. And it's ALL on Ruby and her husband.
100%. I don't believe for a second this kid was abusing other kids but lets say he is. COCSA is nearly always learnt behaviour because many abusers do it during playtime. Like during tickling or something. Then the kids internalise it as 'we're just playing Tickle Bum!' or something and do it to other kids. So if the kid was abusing other kids or showing them porn or whatever, he was 100% shown it by someone else WHICH IS AS IF, IF NOT WORSE because Ruby knew it was happening and did shit about it.
If you listen to the full interview with Jodi’s niece this is what she does. She may have even convinced him that he had done bad things he didn’t remember doing based on more “visions” she had but I do not believe those kids had enough freedom to do any of that. Rudy was always strict as hell, they don’t have cell phones, they had no access to p word or friends to abuse and hadn’t seen their cousins in years like what the eff. To abuse and traumatize those kids further from prison ?!
RUclips, tiktok, instagram, they're all pron apps to Mormons because the rules for nudity allow women to show their shoulders which will lead you to lust which will lead you to Hell forever. That's probably what happened, the kid is just a victim of the algorithm.
Also…you can’t take the law into your own hands anyways. Even if he was a violent r-pist you can’t lock someone up yourself…but she definitely made that up.
Are we meant to believe this 3 year old installed TOR and went surfing the dark web? 😂 Obviously it strains credulity and is complete nonsense. It does reveal a lot about these two women, though. They seem to believe the children are demonic which is a twisted rationalizing of their own sadism and a very dangerous sign: There have been numerous cases of parents who kill their own children because they believe they're irredeemably evil. Obviously it would have been desirable is they were removed from this awful situation long ago, but these children may have been saved just in time.
That's a pretty specific attribute to find attractive 😁 Also be careful, some people see therapists for personality disorders (often with little success).
“Good vets really are a great comfort to people… Alright so anyway dude Thor could literally split me from dick to head in one swing” took me out 😂😂😂 42:42
Love this show, thank you for all of the laughs through the years. You’ve inspired me to start my own family. My wife and I are expecting our first born in November. Couldn’t be happier or more excited. Today, I found out that my kidneys are failing. Diagnosed with IgA just after my wife became pregnant… now I am hearing that, based on new samples taken, my kidneys are not making an effort to recover with the current medications I’m on. I don’t know whether or not I’m going to be around to watch my son grow up, and that terrifies me. There are some medications which can slow the process but my Kidneys are probably going to fail before too long. Whatever happens, thank you all at H3 for keeping my spirits up through this. Hope even one of you sees this, you deserve to be thanked. Papa Bless, love ya, no homo.
especially after the niece said she woud have to hand write out her "sins" and if they didn't match Jodi's dreams then she would have to do it again. he most likely confessed to 20 sa allegations to get his mom and jodi to stop pressuring him to confess to his "sins"
Poor Jessi, they’re an awesome person! They tattooed me and my wife! Hope they’re doing ok, they seem to have had an immense amount of support on social media.
The way his voice was so flat and deadpan at the beginning of the call, I already had a sense that he was doing everything he could to block out his emotions so he could take care of the kid. But having to actually describe what he was seeing brought it all crashing down on him. It was tough to hear him break down. Poor guy is going to be feeling that for a while. He succeeded, though. He got the kids help.

Funny that Ethan trips up on the French and German part of Sam's test saying "why are they together, they hate each other" but completely skipped over "British and Irish" and I know for a fact that I was one of the majority of Irish people watching that who thought "Hold on, why are they lumping us in with the brits?"
Jessi Hildebrandt said that part of Jodi's abuse was that no matter what they confessed to, Jodi always thought there was more sins they were hiding. Jessi said they had to make up and confess to things they never did to try and stop the abuse. If Jodi was doing this same torture to Ruby's children, it is possible the youngest admitted to doing something they never did. If she is telling the truth about the SA, it is because of the lack of privacy they have grown up with. Or possibly he was sexually abused himself and because of their extreme religion he doesn't know what he's doing is wrong because they don't talk about it. Ruby and Jodi just labeled them as sinful bad children who need to be punished.
ashton's whole justification for the Danny Masterson letters falls apart when you realize that danny's parents must've reached out to the entire cast and only 4 took the bait
This. Topher Grace (Eric on That 70s Show) was always made out to be a huge prick because he left the show early and didn’t stay in touch with this cast mates. Turns out, all of his cast mates are rape apologists and Topher dodged a huge fucking bullet by distancing himself.
If, I remember correctly, Danny Masterson was at Mila and Ashton's wedding. Some news reports (before the rape trials) said he was Ashton's Best Man. They were tight - not 20 years ago as the letters made it seem - but in present time. Masterson is probably privy to intimate and unsavoury details from Ashton and Mila's life, so they were more than happy to write the letters.
You know I thought Topher grace and Toby maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal were all the same guy? Then I saw Spiderman three while high as fuck. Amazing movie
Jodi is an “educated” licensed mental health counselor. I just saw a video from her adult neice who explained that she went through the same thing as a teen. She said Jodi is super manipulative and makes sure no one will believe the kids. Poor neice said no one believed her. She was blindfolded, sometimes had duct tape on her mouth so she couldn’t ask cheap. Jodi is the “mastermind.” Jodi’s tactics show through the boy blaming himself and Ruby making a statement blaming him.
2:57:31 What Olivia said here made me cry. It’s so true and it’s sickening. Just because the abuser didn’t abuse YOU, doesn’t mean that the abuse was not real for someone else!!!!
Jodi and Ruby are actually evil. Even if all of Ruby’s “claims” are true, tying up your kid or starving them is NOT the way to help them stop acting that way. I hope the children are in a safe location away from their parents.
If I saw Hila out in the street without knowing her, I would definitely not think she’s white. Her features are so strong and aligned with the MENA region. She’s light, sure, so maybe people who are less familiar with the features people from that region have would think she’s just white.

You should have Jordan and McKay on to talk about Ruby Franke and Jodi. They've been talking about them on their channel for years and they're former mormons and have some great insight into how mormonism influenced a lot of what she did. Plus, Jordan is a legitimate therapist who works with married couples and families a lot so she can speak on how Jodi is going against the very code of ethics that therapists are supposed to practice by.
Yeah its a comfort zone thing. You begin to create a relationship in your head with them even though you’ve never met. So when you hear their voices its the same feeling as hanging out with friends almost.

i have to say ethan was completely right about your environment changing the make up of your genes throughout generations. it's called epigenetics. im getting my BA in psych this year and i've learned about it in multiple classes throughout college. im surprised more people dont know about it
A few dozen people mentioned it on live chat :D. Cool interesting stuff, BUT they were talking specifically about evolutionary theories, speciation, so the question isn't "does your life/environment affect your genes?" it's "is Earth's biodiversity a result of Darwinian natural selection or Lamarckian inheritance." We all know about Darwin, obviously the accepted theory, but Lamarckian inheritance says that speciation is a result of traits that an organism develops during it's lifetime. Eg, if you build up your arms a bunch lifting weights, your children will have bigger/stronger arms, and this could go on down your lineage to make people born with... giant super-arms... So it's way goofier than the real phenomenon of epigenetic change, despite how similar they sound on their face. This wasn't super clear based on what we saw on pod-I happen to have a fondness for wingnuts and knew about this particular "debate" beforehand. Its a fun rabbithole, like the "germ theory isn't real" people or flat-earthers.
I always felt like when the doctor asks if I have a family history of alcoholism that it was irrelevant, is that an example of what could be passed down?
@@irradiated_woman8016yeah i know that's what the video was talking about but that's not what ethan was agreeing with. i was hoping that with the livechat someone would've fact checked it for ethan bc he was right. he was referring to epigenetics, not lamarckian inheritance, which is why he was trying to clarify with dan that he wasnt agreeing with the video
@@gracesgoodvibes yeah we're saying the same thing I think-ethan was thinking of epigenetics (which a bunch of people did mention in chat), but the wingnut dude was talking about evolution.
Ruby & Jodi met & are so alike bc they're both Mormon. I've seen a lot of ex-mormons coming out and saying this wasn't surprising to that community bc the kids are normally abused. Even Jodi's own niece on RUclips about how horrible their aunt is. She was appointed the Mormon family and divorce counselor. Many others are coming out and saying through her counseling she literally ruined their lives and families. And she lost her license to practice in one state at some point
Religious institutions treating kids like shit? Never saw it coming. She would have been appointed for playing the church line. How many toxic situations has she propped up?
As someone who grew up in an abusive household... I really feel for those kids. All you want at that age is a loving family. Having an abusive one only warps your view of family and love. I already know that these kids look at other families and wonder why theirs has to be so horrible. It's sad and I really hope that this kids end up alright. and I hope the parents rot in prison
Do y'all not know how Jodi and Ruby actually met? Jodi was the therapist Ruby found when she wanted to "fix" the oldest boy who got his bedroom taken away.
also about the genetics part, it is called epigenetics. it "switches" genes on and off! petition to add a science fact checker to the crew (or part time), could be really fun!

Like it’s truly the weakest defense I’ve heard. It makes them look 10x worse and shows that the abuse the kids have received runs deeper than we even thought. Hope they rot in hell

I get the impression that they both use the aura of "discipline" as a cover for their sadism. It's a frightening thought. Poor kids.

@@SeamusLeGrisCourtesy of Urban Dictionary:
Butt Rock
A style of hard rock & heavy metal music that is watered down both musically and lyrically to garner maximum radio play and mainstream acceptance.
Comes from the radio stations that play that type of music always saying "Nothing BUT ROCK!" 😄

Link??
Remember that using LDS is technically correct and will keep people from being confused about what church you refer to, but it's also important to not let them distance themselves from the history attached to the name Mormons. I've already had people ask me if they're the same thing. Don't let them escape their past.

@@LisaLee__ both videos are from a podcast called “Mormon Stories” here on RUclips. They have many very informative videos about the whole situation.

I was so confused and concerned with that clip. Those kids didn't know where she's coming or going

Gods not sending his best, we gotta build a wall.
These mofos are tax free.
Also, their perception of SA is completely skewed. I wouldn’t be surprised if they call two kids of the same gender hugging each other SA.

Love’s little laughs after Ethan asks Dan if he can say something are so cute lol

After the niece's story, I'm willing to guess Jodi is also making up the sa accusations against the child that escaped, and Ruby believes her blindly.
oh yeah, you're probably right. She "dreamed" it, so it must be true. Meanwhile, the kid didn't do anything.
especially after the niece said she woud have to hand write out her "sins" and if they didn't match Jodi's dreams then she would have to do it again. he most likely confessed to 20 sa allegations to get his mom and jodi to stop pressuring him to confess to his "sins"

Ruby and Jodi just labeled them as sinful bad children who need to be punished.

i have to say ethan was completely right about your environment changing the make up of your genes throughout generations. it's called epigenetics. im getting my BA in psych this year and i've learned about it in multiple classes throughout college. im surprised more people dont know about it
A few dozen people mentioned it on live chat :D.
@@ee5647I don’t know a lot about this topic but I do know susceptibility to addiction can be hereditary
“Wait..money is rectangular” made me die😂😂 Ab underrated as always
I heard Jobi's relative goes by they/them btw
@@ku8408 thank you, your right. I fixed it.. they still called themselves Jodi's "niece" tho.
Dan yelling CHOCOLATE CHIP BROOO was my favorite part of the episode lol
As someone who grew up in an abusive household... I really feel for those kids. All you want at that age is a loving family. Having an abusive one only warps your view of family and love. I already know that these kids look at other families and wonder why theirs has to be so horrible. It's sad and I really hope that this kids end up alright.
and I hope the parents rot in prison
Do y'all not know how Jodi and Ruby actually met? Jodi was the therapist Ruby found when she wanted to "fix" the oldest boy who got his bedroom taken away.
Damn that's crazy
Fix him for what? because of the prank?
@@ee5647 shes a porn therapist so probably more like he watched porn and she was convinced he was addicted to it (or maybe he actually was)
That Sean Stephens song sounds like something that would be great for kids. It’s simple, catchy, and talks about shapes.
“He was there man, don’t make excuses” NEVER FORGET is for everyone.
The way Olivia JUMPED WITHOUT HESITATION, “can we reach out to Thor?” “SURE!”
also about the genetics part, it is called epigenetics. it "switches" genes on and off! petition to add a science fact checker to the crew (or part time), could be really fun!
