3:00 avoid blocking with your weapon, it's meant as a last resort. When you block with weapons, they lose large chunks of durability. The same weapon that could dispatch a horde of enemies will break upon fighting just 3-4 if you keep blocking with it. Instead of blocking, try sidestepping the attack or using the "dodge roll" action. Use energy/stamina in combat. Use power attacks(you charge them by holding attack button pressed long enough). All weapons have 2 "levels" of power attack, with different properties. Some weapons are outright underwhelming without using their power attack (for example, spears rely heavily on using power attack 2, otherwise they suck). The basic combat loop is to use almost all your stamina on power attacks, maybe leave 1 for an emergency dodgeroll, and then for a period of time you move around blocking with a shield, or staggering enemies with some light attacks 'till stamina fully restores, rinse repeat.

Thanks for this advice! I’ll be sure to take those tips and utilize them when I’m getting further into the more complicated aspects of the game.
