Man, there is so much we can learn from these few sentences. Some time in the past, Lumine was Xiao's light and pulled him just enough out of depression to fall in love. She said a ton of happy, cute things, and he misinterpreted it, thinking she literally meant she wanted to stay with him and raise kids. Yes, she wanted that, but ALSO wanted to leave and find her brother, et cetera. Xiao, who has 0 understanding of what people think, metaphors, hyperbole, all that, and is probably a Ti dominant, took her literally and 100% believed her. Alas, he felt betrayed when she was ready to go find out the truth about the fatui and her brother. Lumine is confused because she believed she was clear, but Xiao feels betrayed, and his karma is forcing his depression back, and poor guy just wants to love and be loved and be a dad, but he's lost. Lumine wants it all too, but she needs to get closure with her brother and Snezhnaya and all that, and she doesn't get that Xiao took her 100% literally and feels betrayed. Of course, Xiao also did threaten the kids, and yes, that was a bad move, but again, it's because Xiao's desperate and he loves his family, and maybe he was just bluffing to get Lumine to stay. It's one big misunderstanding and a whole lot of "this would be easier if Xiao didn't have such horrible social skills," or, something.
Now, I'm not the one who cried because I already know Xiao DOES work it out somehow and ends up being a really good dad, according to the other comics, so I'm just sitting here patiently waiting for HOW this all goes back to the cute family comics we see elsewhere. I'm just waiting for one of them to say "Dude, just let Cloud Retainer babysit."

I think him not understanding what people think is more due to him being an adeptus rather than Ti dom. IMO he's Si dom tho

I especially feel for xiao. the fact that he feels like the situation is his fault and that he cant be redeemed, like it's some kind of punishment. when he left it just became clear how he took this to heart.
laelepuc is so great at creating believable characters. i hope eventually they can give me some tips :)

Well believe this or not this is my first angst I have ever made so for me I didnt have much to lose. When you are starting from 0 the only way is up LOL.
1. use ur own experience
2. recognize what can work and whats bs
3. your first idea is usually the best
4. get someone to read your monstrosity and have them criticize it (Editor)
5. rinse and repeat until u hit deadline

For a bit of context, I’m what they call “their editor” 😂
We saw your comment and the first thing they said is _hire an editor and eat criticism_
Basically I go over the story with extreme care and attention to details, digging through every plot hole or any character reaction. It helps to go more in depth over the coherence of everything, even on things that will never be seen by the readers. It helps with having the whole thing hold together. It’s nice to have someone else do it, as they will have an exterior view. Basically I just bring out anything incoherent, so they can just make it coherent.
That’s how we makes things more believable.

as I've said before it is so great to actually see the downsides of this relationship. it feels so real and i can actually sympathies with the characters instead of just watching a fairy tale.
not only that but the fact that i get to see both their sides and sympathies with both of them creates such strong emotions and i can feel thier conflict in my heart. this is really good. i hope laelepuc keep it up :)
Hello Im Lae, I have been reading your comments through out my comics on Syll dub. Neatly put, you do seem to be very invested and appreciate the art details aspect. As an artist, its always a pleasure to see those who focus not just on the story but also the visual. Syll dubbing bring everything closer together and give a more realistic feels wich to me is like, giving my art a second life.
