If I remember, 82 once operated at the Milwaukee County Zoo before moving to the R&GN. Soon enough, the remaining steam engines at the zoo will move here upon being retired and replaced by new diesels.

Somewhere at home I have an old MKE Cty Zoo guide from the early 70's. There is a photo of this locomotive and another 4-4-0 with a funnel stack. I found interesting, and I was little kid, that I had a similar photo of the DLRR, with EP Ripley and CK Holliday sitting side by side at Main Street. I thought all railroads had locomotives like these. Guess this is where my love this era of steam came from.

Yeah that engine used to run at the zoo and once got in an accident in the 60's
