I honestly doubt it. The only other song I heard by Scar Symmetry before this was Mechanical Soul Cybernetics, which I didn't like very much.

The whole album is pretty much about our reptilian overlords.
xCr0nus The lyrics are entirely based on a contrary game. Truth and lies, darkness and light, day and night, and so on. This game is present in every phrase of the song. In the pre-chorus ("Deep and shallow ocean or hearts without soul, *learn as your worlds collide*) the lyrics basically say that life is made of many things, which can be opposed to each other, and everyone should try to balance those things. This is emphatized in the chorus ("Sign the pact! I'm the poison that you need", and "but you fear what lies beneath, triumph or defeat, I'm both and none"): you need both "good" and "bad" things, and you should accept and face it, because everything is relative.
This is one of my favorite songs from this group, also because of the lyrics. Their the most relatable lyrics from Scar Symmetry.

Zachary Manning Per is Scar Symmetry's soul. Not Alvestam. Get over it. Lars is a good singer, regardless of how Alvestam is/was. Should I remember you WHY Alvestam was kicked from the band? He didn't want to sing live because he knew he couldn't do the Holographic Universe album live. Per himself stated this. And after all, Lars's voice is much more suited for Scar Symmetry's style direction. No hate please, I like both Alvestam and Lars, and my favorite album is Pitch Black Progress, but I really get nervous when I see Lars getting all this hate he doesn't reserve.
