When Deathwing activates its Battlecry, both players' boards are cleared, but Deathwing remains on the battlefield, meaning the condition of your battlefield being empty is not satisfied. However, if Sylvanas Windrunner was summoned before Mecha'thun, Sylvanas's Deathrattle will activate before Mecha'thun's Deathrattle, stealing Deathwing from your battlefield. This satisfies the condition of your battlefield being empty, allowing Mecha'thun's Deathrattle to activate and destroy the opposing hero.
For the same reason, if Mecha'thun is summoned before Sylvanas Windrunner, Mecha'thun's Deathrattle will trigger first while Deathwing remains on your battlefield, failing to meet Mecha'thun's win condition, and the combo will not work.
they've added a few cards that increase the mana limit, the one being used here is guff, a card that swaps your hero portrait and hero power for another one, usually also with another on-play affect, guff is one for druid where this on-play affect increases your mana limit to 20

It is possible to get more than 11 mana with druid only, and warrior can sometimes get to 16 mana. All other classes have the same 10 mana.
