- In this episode of Cheap Family Travel (www.cheapfamily...), Nick, Regan, Maggie and Kate visited Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park in California. Tuolumne is one of the best kept secrets in Yosemite. This beautiful meadow comprises the eastern edge of the park and is one of the largest high elevation meadows in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. During peak tourist seasons, Tuolumne is way less crowded than Yosemite Valley. Tuolumne offers beautiful scenery, clear rivers, pristine lakes and rugged granite cliffs. You can actually hike trails all by yourself. We visited Olmsted Point with its beautiful view of Half Dome. We picnicked at Tenaya Lake and hiked to the top of Lembert Dome for an amazing view of the entire meadow. You have got to enjoy the peaceful, beautiful serenity of Tuolumne Meadows.
