This was inspirational, thanks for sharing. It's like neovim for humans. I recently set backspace to silently run :wa and it's been really nice. Nothing quite like the feeling of finding a good keybinding like that. I have the ergodox EZ and backspace and esc are both on my thumb keys.
You made my day ! I had the same logic of jumping to specific window with single key press + number but I didn't have the window number displayed. It may seem like nothing but it's so much more practical with the window number directly on my status line. Many thanks !
Really interesting, thanks for posting. I'm going to give the jumping to windows by number a try. I also keep a diary and use luasnip's date snippet heavily.
Wait, is there an actual date specific thing I’m missing out on? Or you mean like I have already? Let me know how you find the number based switching. It’s been great for me!
So it turns out date is from rafamadriz/friendly-snippets, I thought it was built into luasnip. Basically I type date, press tab and it inserts the date. Also works for datetime, ISO timestamps, time, lorem ipsum and various other handy things you might want to insert.
So cool to see you get to speak on a neovim conf, mate! I've been using LunarVim for a while now, and am building my own dotfiles basically stripping away anything in LunarVim I don't need and add some things I do need. I think LunarVim is very thought through so it is like using someone more experienced's dotfiles and then edit them to suit your own needs for me. WhichKey is a plugin I juts couldn't live without now and I got introduced to that through me using LunarVim and i, as you say in the talk, made me think about my bindings to make some sort of sense with groupings rather than just mnemonics. Btw still rocking the Moonlander and still got some of the shrink tubing left. :)
@@benfrainuk I bought Moonlander last month and still trying to figure it out. Also I decided to learn colemak-dh along and it will take a while to use it in my daily work :)
I suspect the problem I will have with that is the same issue I have with Harpoon - it’s that I actually have to remember to do something 🤣🤣 I need something that somehow takes note of significant points in files and remembers them for me, easier said than done I know!

@@peteryates308 ah, yea that works too. Probably better than what I have tbh. Will take a look. Thanks 🙏

Yo 👋 thanks for that. Yes still on the Moonlander most days myself 👍
Hey Ben,
I see that you have a lot of keyboards ;)
Which one do you prefer to use?
Ha, yes, a few. At present, I use the Moonlander and Advatage 360 the most! Do you have a mech keyboard addiction too?

@@benfrainuk? If you want to remember points in a file check out Vim marks. U can make marks persistent.
Where can i find your keybindings?
Just added a link in the description 👍
I love the content but feel like I'm in your esophagus every time you drink during this talk, please refrain or mute 😂
Sorry. I’d had a bad cold and was recovering! Throat was incredibly dry. 🤣
@@benfrainuk they're just being dramatic. You were fine.
