  • In an era shadowed by World War I, a devastating pandemic and profound societal divisions, the United States faced trials that tested the resilience of its democracy. Join us for an evening delving into the history that shapes the contours of modern America with award-winning historian Adam Hochschild. He’ll explore the fabric of our society during 1917-1921, as detailed in his best-selling book “American Midnight: The Great War, a Violent Peace and Democracy's Forgotten Crisis.”
Hosted in partnership with American Public Square.

As a teacher of US history, I'm getting a bit sick and tired of being lectured to by old men about what I am not teaching in my classroom. Textbooks might be incomplete, but my teaching sure as h--l was not. Give us in the classroom some credit.
