A couple of small corrections: Laettner was already in the team when MJ joined the Wizards and he was still 33 or something. The one thing i "hold" against Mike is he was a bad gm. I don't know what his intent was but after his first year bringing the 39-year old friend Oakley or same Byron Russel whom MJ humiliated just 5-6 years ago and also not at his prime and trading out Rick Hamilton who he had success with were all bad moves in my opinion. And maybe that's what caused the "divorce" following his third and final retirement. But other than that his first year at least was quite good, especially when putting all the context of him being away from the court for three years, the serious injuries that would probably put most of modern stars out for a significant amount of time, the totally new team and atmosphere he had to adjust to...was he consistent: no! Did he had great games: hell yes! Was he more reliable defender than Lebron this year at same age: hell yes! Did he put greater performances than Lebron up to the same point of the season we are now: hell yes! Fight through the pain, put your everything on the court no matter what - that's what's about of being a true bball player! Too sad that we've come to this day when we have to praise players who barely participate in 60 games per season...
no seriously, and its a really big problem, people are playing less and less but playing long careers, now i get it if your hurt your hurt, but certain players dont play just because, this is your job, this is what your supposed to do and there are people right now that would do anything to get into your position and i feel like some players take it for granted just because they dont like where they are or,what someone said
I sure guarantee you that Michael Jordan still has the Talent in him today, and can still play in the NBA today. Michael Jordan is and always will be the G.O.A.T.
Kevin durant said he'd be the best NBA player if he played today. There's a vid were some of the all time greats all say he'd avg 45-50 ppg in today's game. Hell the lowest total was 40-43 ppg. Today's game is easier then ever to score no one plays D today.
MJ was suppose to get a larger stake etc after his 2 years…so basically he got lied to by the majority ownership. MJ has a documentary coming out about his wizards time…he was about to take that bum team for a deep run into the playoffs. Kobe found out he was coming back and asked him to come to LA.
@itzkhiiii according to Gilbert arenas the fluid that was being drained from Jordans knees was black. It's amazing what he was able to accomplish. I think he was a little over his prime playing weight too.
I don’t know where you heard those trade rumor reason for rip etc but that’s some bs…he traded Rip to get the hell outta there because the wizards were going to be a losing team and Rip is a jumpman employee so he looked out for him
That speculation about trading players to other teams to help those teams beat someone else’s is not MJ’s mentality. That’s closer to a stacking teams anti competitive strategy. More like Bron’s mentality. MJ joins the second to worst team to compete, not scheme to build super teams to coast to the finals. That’s not in MJ’s DNA. He absolutely could have joined the Shaq Kobe lakers. They had his favorite coach too. It would have been easy to tag on some rings and prevent Kobe from passing him in chips because he’d be winning them too. See how that wouldn’t make sense not to join Lakers if he thought that way? The fact is he only got paid $1million for his first yr with Wizards and he donated it to 911 charity so he played for the love of the game not the bag. He was a competitor and always wanted to earn it not have it given to him.
Today there is an inflation of points and other statistics. How is a Lebron at 35+ better than an younger Lebron with 10 years or more? It's totally illogical. It's a different game, with less defense. Someone on RUclips compared this match with Charlotte to a Lebron match with Charlotte at 38, minute by minute. You can clearly see the difference, how passive in defense and how little the attackers struggle today.
its because offense is more marketable than defense,to the casual fan they want to see the dunks and the threes, not roughhousing and thats the issue,im not saying bring 80s ball back but i will say there needs to be a balance
That Celtics team was injury plagued the year before Bird got there. Bird didn’t take the same bum team from the year before…that’s the lie bird fans try to say.
@@itzkhiiii Pippen gets credit for winning 57 games and getting to the second round in 94 after MJ retired but nobody mentions the roster improvement and then nobody talks about 95
Bird back was messed up before he got his last chip…where was the bird back is injured then? Only as he and the Celtics became irrelevant and his back was broken stop lying
STATS!!! Stats!!! Points, assists, defensive rebounds. That’s all anyone, including Lebron, including ESPN (who makes you click “all-stats” to see the others) care about anymore. This video provides the objective context Lebron activists seem to be immune to. Lebron’s body no doubt has held up better than MJ’s. And there are various reasons for that. But we can see, as Lebron’s athleticism has started to fade, so has his ability to positively impact his team. MJ’s athleticism was about 30% of what it was in his prime on the Wizards but his superior fundamentals and skills allowed him to have a 19 win dumpster fire competing for a 1 seed before he got injured.
what do you mean your goat? the dude is the best player that ever touched the ball of basketball. there are no other goats in that realm where mj is. Closest to him is kobe. those 2 are way above the rest. there is no debate about other goats and it should not be for now. and thats your opinion, there are many other people who have a different opinion on this, for me personally, whoever you think is the goat that is perfectly fine
MJ played for the Wizards not just as a PR stunt that some ppl believed. He saw his players at practice and the competitor in him realized he was better than most of his players. That’s the real reason.
He played for two reasons, it was a PR stunt first of all, he was promoting the team he was GM for, second they sucked ASS so he wanted to teach them and third, he wanted to keep playing
The difference from Bird and Jordan is Bird turn a bad team into a championship team in his PRIME....basically straight out of college. Whereas Jordan was 38 years old and 39 years old when he improved a bad to a very good team.

he may have the talent, but it takes more than talent to play in the nba,you know that i know that and HE knows that the man is 60!!

okay we are not talking about if you put mj at his peak in todays game,he is saying at the age of 60!!! he can still play
He would have been MVP without the knee injury
good chance
