@@DnDBeyond Ify was my favorite in Dimension 20 Escape from Bloodkeep, absolutely loving them in this, and now want to binge through everything they are involved in.

Coming from a DM, I wish I could have such emotion run through my games. Iyengar is so immersed in her character that she legit started crying upon hearing about how her friends wish went a whole different direction. This episode was spectacular. The almost legendary battle forced into a RP scene that made me immediately become emotionally invested. As well as the fact that Mulligan's character is going against his own traits and flaws to do something for a greater good. I'm in love with this campaign. It went from a beat-em-up king of the hill style competition to a deep-set mystery surrounding generations of people that's affecting countless other lives from other realms. D&D Gold right here.
Oddly enough those were fake tears, but she actually cried when Brennan was talking about how he's the guy everyone gives a hard time to. I guess it was more relatable and realistic

Seriously, I was enamored with this campaign from episode 1. Incredible DM and amazing cast. While we're naming favorite live play DMs shout out to Monty Martin from the Dungeon Dudes. Not quite as big a platform as D20 or CR but still deserving of love and recognition for making content on the beautiful game of DnD.
@@whyiseveryoneusinghandle Aabria's friend was killed. He wanted actual immortality but instead was killed after winning so that his legend would survive, this is also the call and response with Nikhil and his sister, leading us to think the same happen with them.
Brennan’s seemingly effortless character growth of Nikhil is one of the smoothest, most realistic, and most satisfying character arcs I have seen in a *long* time, that last scene with his sister has me quite literally shaking
I first watched him in DnD playing Evan Kelmp and holy crap ive only seen him twice properly in DnD and both times he hit it out of the park, amazing comedic lines left and right and bouncing off of the others in the room to make interesting new relationships. And you dont always see character arcs like that where you’re literally watching him change and not just suddenly
YES it’s so subtle and he never loses the thread or core of the character, he just matured them a little in response to other people and events during the game it’s SO cool
And you’re totally right like,,, you barely notice the growth is happening until it has Happened and that’s exactly how it is in real life most of the time- I’m in love with Brennan Lee Mulligan and his skills tbh djshfjskdj
I love the light edge of eldritch horror for this game, like this large, seemingly unknowable and endless competition that everyone's only every heard whispers of, that draws in heroes and champions only to trap them forever, in endless battles that will never actually result in their escape. Its like a giant anglerfish luring in its prey eternally. There's something so terrifying and yet tragic about the events of this story, and everyone is playing through their own processing of the unwinnable game they've found themselves in so beautifully. Sestia's quiet but unchained grief and despair at learning her friend's fate, Nikhil's resigned attempt at apathy, Ekon's stoic yet logical understanding, Murdina's anxious alarm at the thought of her home and her unattended responsibilities, Lenore's slow attempt at accepting being stuck, and Leila's easy acceptance that has clearly been implanted within her. Its all so wonderfully acted, and Jasmine's been keeping it all together as well as providing some amazing NPC perspectives as well as navigating the lightning fast moodshifts between comedy and tragedy
Oh man, who doesn't love seeing someone like Nikhil take extremely strenuous baby steps to care about others. Also this absolute storm of varried perspectives makes for a really good story when thrown into a nuanced, wild problem like this! Oh, and third point, some seamless damage control from Jasmine when she maneuvered through having her fire monk headlocked into submission by diplomacy! I don't know what she had planned of course, but I have to imagine loosing a whole combat encounter when you have a set number of episodes is nothing to sneeze at. She did an excellent job of making all that followed feel just as good as the rest of the series!
I definitely played up being "mad" about throwing out the combat but I definitely always go with what feels narratively right. If I was actually annoyed I would have just had him attack anyway hahaha
We live forever…as legends. Geez, right after that revelation, that’s gotta sting so bad. That brief pause from BLM is the kind where you suddenly understand the meaning of an in joke and realize you were the punchline the entire time.
I'm at 42:39 in and I was *not* expecting this kind of backstory and pain from Ify/Ekon! The last time I saw him play D&D, he was a silly pirate in a band of hapless villains; here he's making me nearly shed tears. The range this man has! 😂
@@IceMetalPunk Did you know that Ify is also playing D&D for G4? G4 is back and Ify is playing a bard that gets to sing at least once an episode. It's call An Invitation to Party, and it's a game of scoundrels set in Waterdeep and DMed by B. Dave Walters. Great stuff, and only four episodes long so far so it's easy to catch up on.
The "failure/success" of the dissonant whispers is one of the most genius rulings of that kind of roll I've ever seen. I love it so much. Jasmine Bhullar is an absolute master DM.
In the very first episode I couldn't help but feel like Erika's character art didn't really suit the character. IT IS SO VALIDATING TO KNOW SHE WAS DESIGNED WITH A MORE SINISTER ORIGIN!
I thought about this when Nikhil was "comforting" Sestia and then the ending sort of confirmed it. I have the strong feeling that Nikhil is the descendant of Sestia's lover or something. I mean, "We live forever as legends"? That's exactly what he asked for and what he obtained. Time is relative, who knows how that works in that place. Mmmh... can't wait for the next episode!
What a twist in the middle there! Once that came out all I can do is think about how their wishes would be twisted and it makes me so sad picturing Josephine's Character having to be in charge of the spa to make sure the "water is safe" like could you imagine!
This table is incredible. Aabria and Brennan have amazing chemistry. I'm a big fan of everyone, but boy howdy gang do I love me some Iyengar and Mulligan.
[Listening to Malini recount the legends and philosophies of the realm's native-born residents] "...Oh holy fucking shit this is a straight-up cult. Like the EXACT mentality and methodology of being raised by a cultist upbringing." I just... this is SO well-written. Even with all the insane revelations and gobsmackering that went down throughout the entire episode, THIS scene was the one that really got me. I just... applause. I know that's a bad idea in this scenario given what was literally JUST pieced together, but all I have is applause.
Also (because I haven't seen anyone comment on it and I think it deserves recognition) I love Jasmine's henna, like, the way she moves her hands and arms accentuates it/it accentuates her movements and that's very cool imo
This is the first time I've seen Jasmine storytell. And sister, you have some SERIOUS skills. At first, the story seemed to be the entertaining but somewhat linear plot of a tournament competition. 4 episodes from the start, it's a deep, dark pool of deceit that transcends time and space and the tale of those who would dare defy the will of mad gods. So emotionally invested in this, it's not even funny. 5 stars, would Battle and/or Beyond again.
That "sales pitch" of DND Rules Lawyers in the middle of a big dramatic fight is my favorite thing. I love role playing games because this kind of stuff happens.
I actually really like the twist that you cant leave until you win because suddenly these people who were so desperate to change their past are now realizing that what they had wasnt so bad and they might lose it.
What can we expect when you put together a legendary cast such as this, but a legendary story filled with plots, emotions, and epic battles. Together I know this cast will have us on the edge of our seats, and reaching for the tissues.

I don’t _know_ how to _sex!“_ The incessant echo inside every adolescent boy’s skull.
This was a stunning episode of this campaign. Action, drama, backstories galore, and a seemingly unsolvable problem. Also, whether they want to or not, our heroes have to continue to fight. Jasmine has truly stepped up her game as a DM and has presented a scenario that her players will have a tough time finding a way to stop the clearly malevolent forces that are manipulating their fates. Battle for Beyond is by far one of the best TTRPGs running right now. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen!
I'm really loving this series! The characters are amazing and the DMing is unmatched. D&D Beyond, if you do more of these in the future I would humbly ask that you invest in some good captions! I know they take a lot of time and effort, but they really are incredibly helpful. I personally use them to help me catch what the players are saying when there's a lot of conversation happening. I'm sure those with hearing and sensory processing difficulties would appreciate being able to enjoy your content as well. Thank you again for putting this game out, I can't wait to see how everything wraps up!
THIS PLOT HAS LAYERS. Id love to see the background planning for this. A few characters have more knowledge than others and it's wonderful to watch unfold.
This. This level of emotion, this level of involvement, this level of role-playing; this is what I've been desiring in my D&D games ever since I started with AD&D 40 years ago. Beloved cast, amazing DM, you show what is possible and we love you all for it!
I swear this keeps getting better every ep! The RP is top tier and the miniseries should be getting more attention. When Filendaar yelled "STOP LYING TO ME!" I was shook IRL haha and felt genuinely anxious. Also, the Yabba Dabba Do line was snuck in so well... the comedy and drama are so well done at this table, can't wait for more. Also, thhe combat has been great but this was a more RP heavy ep haha.
This has solidified as top quality, Michelin Star D&D. It's amazing how this has come to be, thanks D&D Beyond! Did you imagine you could end up here when you started?
I'm wondering about Leila, a warlock doesn't just get attacked by Gennasi out in the open without reason. AND has poor memory? That patron is up to something.
I can’t believe I have to wait another week for the next episode this campaign is just so GOOD! The chemistry at the table is fantastic, everyone’s got such a great balance of comedic timing vs emotional roleplay, the GMing is out of this world… just a gold mine of a campaign.
I. Love. This. DM. She is absolutely fantastic and this has been one of my favorite DnD adventures to watch. I hope Thatbronzegirl and this group of fantastic folks does more things together. Maybe a full campaign?
Usually I hate comments when someone is like 'xyz is so underrated' but literally Emma Fyffe is so underrated in this, she rocks! She's the only one I haven't seen in another rpg liveplay, and she brings so much surprising depth and genuinely funny comedy to a character that very easily could've been a super one-note joke
Wow, what an amazing story that started out on already on such an epic level but is somehow getting more and more intriguing every episode! Truly thank you so much to everyone involved! Every single character (player character and NPC's alike) all feel so real! Special shoutout to Brennan who somehow managed to take a character who in theory should be a two dimensional jerk and making him a very nuanced and troubled guy I guess I now care deeply for somehow? And omg Jasmine! I knew from the amazing and in depth stories in Shikar that she was beyond talented at creating captivating and emotional plots and NPC's but she is continuously outdoing herself! I keep being blown away by how detailed and amazing this show is. Can't wait to see what else Jasmine's creativity has in store for us!
Man, Brennan comes up with the most powerful crap to say when his character is frustrated eg 1:07:00 this whole interaction is just perfect. Nikhil is a POS but he isn't wrong.

1:07:34 “Let’s break it. Let’s just f*@king break it.”
Here’s hoping Sestia doesn’t end up a Stargaryen.
1:28:02 “I don’t know how to sex! I don’t _know_ how to _sex!“_
The incessant echo inside every adolescent boy’s skull.
the DM pout when your players do something with emotional weight that stops a very cool battle is a very specific but relatable vibe LMAO
21:38 Sestia calling Murdina ‘baby’ warmed my heart even though they were arguing haha
Aabria putting barbecue sauce on her ribs while the dramatic discussion happens at 1:35:50 made my bleeping day!
What a delightful, stacked cast, I reckon Jasmine Bhullar has just the right amount of ladles for the six of them!
A belt full of ladles!
Brennan is such a GOOD FUCKING ROLE PLAYER. And DM, my god. I look up to this man more than anyone I know in real life
By far the best lore to come out of this that warlock magic comes from emotional repression and not a pact with a higher power
Can we just talk about Pelodo Prime for just a second? New favorite character.
We love that folks are calling him Prime 😂
Nikhil is my favorite character so far, though they're all incredible
Really love the twists and turns, but also how the group role plays together! Wonderful chemistry!
Iffy injecting Flinstones references was exactly what I needed in this tense, incredible episode
Oh my god this episode hammered in just how much Brennan is channeling is New Yorker side railing against the outworlders 😂
Wait, I’m at 1:23:00 and absolutely shocked that they encountered an NPC who hates someone other than Nikhil…
He’s fun to hate!
I love the fact that the party literally goes to a spa to both mechanically and in character relax.
This has solidified as top quality, Michelin Star D&D. It's amazing how this has come to be, thanks D&D Beyond! Did you imagine you could end up here when you started?
I love this DM. She is fucking brutal and awesome.
"I'd just like to say, as your DM...I'm not sorry. I'm not."
@@shinybugg9156 This is the way
Jasmine's DM pout was adorable XD
*another full campaign
This group is turning the idea of battle tournaments on the head and loving the dynamics. Best to everyone on the crew.
Kinda feel bad for Ify going down constantly but at the same time a (sorta) melee Wizard with a 9AC was a BOLD choice
Yeah, I don't see how that would work mechanically. Even with Mage Armor he would have 12 AC, that's a dead man on the frontlines
This is some top draw talent. Some of my favourite players/DMs all in one room. Well done whoever cast this show!
Jasmine is FANTASTIC!!! What a great storyteller!
41:26 I love Ify dropping the accent halfway through the sentence
How is this already the second time I've seen Brennan roleplay eating ribs off the floor??
Best role play I have seen in a long time, totally immersive. Incredible.
The episodes just keep getting better and better. What an amazing group and story you all are telling. Can't wait to learn more!
Jasmine is an amazing DM and Trees Nuts are amazing roleplayers, i wish i found this series sooner
Just. You. Wait. ❤
I adore Nikil's attitude: Screw your whiny emo crap, Imma wreck the system
Man! These episodes aren't long enough. I am loving this.
This is genuinely so enjoyable, you all seem to be having such a good time and I'm here for it
Dungeon Masters this good are few and far in between. I am inspired!
❤
My new life motto is "Something might matter"
Kinda digging Jasmine's fuzzy short-sleeve sweater and that moon design on it. Kinda want one but for guys.
Who said it needs to be for guys I just want the sweater
The battle into the immersive character driven Role-play was amazingly well done.
"You are _so_ pretty."
"Thank youuu!!!"
I love these characters so muchhh
Man, Brennan comes up with the most powerful crap to say when his character is frustrated eg 1:07:00 this whole interaction is just perfect. Nikhil is a POS but he isn't wrong.
