Hey all, hella late to this video but thought I'd drop by and let everyone know that "1st Level" was my very first level in Geometry Dash. I was on a "The Impossible Game" kick back then (courtesy of RoosterTeeth's Rage Quit series) when I found Geometry Dash on the Google Play Store presumably on its release day. The name "1st Level" is not because I had any intention of flaunting that it was one of the first online levels (if not the first), but rather that it was MY first online level and that I had expected a long career of level creation - as you can see that did not pan out as I lost interest in the game after some time. I haven't ever really spoken about this before aside from a few close friends over the years because quite frankly I've never really cared to talk about it much - especially because I practically only have my word to give on the topic. Plus for anyone who has seen or played my first level you'll know that it's literally just random assets slapped into a course, and I'm not all that interested in dying on that hill or being remembered as the guy who made THAT level lol Thought I'd come by here and share my story as it's been a long time and I was feeling nostalgic. Again, all I can give is my word so you are more than welcome to have a different opinion and not believe me. Hope everyone is doing well and saying safe! (What I'm trying to understand is who on earth changed my name from Storm to Real Storm lmao, I never logged into that account (have no clue if it was even possible back then) again after I deleted the app so I genuinely don't know how or why the name changed.)
A quick edit: I watched further into the video and noticed that the description is no longer there in 1st Level, but if I recall it was something like "All I gotta say is good luck" which isn't much of a loss considering the level is extremely simple lmao

Eric, heres some info about older versions. 1.0 only had cube and ship modes. There was the featured tab in 1.0, though. Ball mode was added in 1.2 (1.1 added mirror portals), 1.3 added the star system, and 1.4 introduced mini sizes. UFO was added in 1.5 (because of darnoc's gravity field), 1.6 added mostly new decorations, and speeds were added in 1.7, along with the tabs in the editor (sorting blocks from spikes and orbs). 1.8 introduced dual mode, and 1.9 added wave mode (from darnoc's wave wave), custom songs, and 3D lines. 2.0 added moving objects, the alpha trigger, the toggle trigger the vault, and the robot mode. In 2.1, the spider mode was added, along with the rotate trigger, the orb currency for shops, and two new vaults. This is only scratching the surface of the updates, but just in case you want to know, here you go.

Darnoc invented more gamemodes than you would think. Gravity field was only one, which later became the UFO, but he then invented the wave as well, giving Robtop some ideas. Very creative guy!

Sure, Demon Park was the first demon level, but a lot of very hard challenges came already from early Creators like Darnoc. The Creator of Demon Park just wanted to create a really hard level, and yk, rated.
The UFO is pretty new, I remember when robtop added it. I also remember when mini mode was added. Cool times. Cube, ship and ball were the only ones back then.

In the Geometry Dash Lite version there used to be only Stereo Madness to Jumper, until Robtop started adding a new level to it for every update in the full Geometry Dash. So that how I kinda figured 1.0 was Stereo Madness to Jumper.
I had this old Samsung phone and its app store had Geometry Dash (full version). I downloaded it and it was around version 1.0-1.2. It was old. The editor's format was pretty much the same as today. It felt very weird and no levels were online. It couldn't connect to the database so no levels were online. I remember I couldn't get the background color to change so you can only change to background color white.
1.0 was up to jumper, 1.1 was time mashine, 1.2 was ball,1.3 was xstep, 1.4 was clutterfunk,1.5 was i dont remember, 1.6 was ufo, 1.7 was speed,1.8 was slopes and duels

Is it just me or does people kinda miss the old ericvanwilderman when he used to play a lot of over games besides geometry dash. Don’t get me wrong I do like most of his geometry dash videos it’s just that I hate that he only plays this game now and I want him to play other games like back in the day when he played corpse party and other cool horror games. I think in 1.0, the only game modes were the cube and ship and gravity portals. In 1.1, Time Machine may have been added which added mirror mode and then 1.2 was Cycles which introduced the ball and so on.

Eric, heres some info about older versions.
1.0 only had cube and ship modes. There was the featured tab in 1.0, though. Ball mode was added in 1.2 (1.1 added mirror portals), 1.3 added the star system, and 1.4 introduced mini sizes. UFO was added in 1.5 (because of darnoc's gravity field), 1.6 added mostly new decorations, and speeds were added in 1.7, along with the tabs in the editor (sorting blocks from spikes and orbs). 1.8 introduced dual mode, and 1.9 added wave mode (from darnoc's wave wave), custom songs, and 3D lines. 2.0 added moving objects, the alpha trigger, the toggle trigger the vault, and the robot mode. In 2.1, the spider mode was added, along with the rotate trigger, the orb currency for shops, and two new vaults.
This is only scratching the surface of the updates, but just in case you want to know, here you go.

Darnoc invented more gamemodes than you would think. Gravity field was only one, which later became the UFO, but he then invented the wave as well, giving Robtop some ideas. Very creative guy!

Sure, Demon Park was the first demon level, but a lot of very hard challenges came already from early Creators like Darnoc. The Creator of Demon Park just wanted to create a really hard level, and yk, rated.
The UFO is pretty new, I remember when robtop added it. I also remember when mini mode was added. Cool times. Cube, ship and ball were the only ones back then.

Chests that you can open with Keys, (if you finish a level it could drop you a key that then you could put into a chest) the Vaultkeeper, "the Challenge" ( if you beat the challenge ... first you gotta get 200 diamonds... you can unlock the chest room ...to open the vault you have to get 50 user coins...)

In the Geometry Dash Lite version there used to be only Stereo Madness to Jumper, until Robtop started adding a new level to it for every update in the full Geometry Dash. So that how I kinda figured 1.0 was Stereo Madness to Jumper.
I had this old Samsung phone and its app store had Geometry Dash (full version). I downloaded it and it was around version 1.0-1.2. It was old. The editor's format was pretty much the same as today. It felt very weird and no levels were online. It couldn't connect to the database so no levels were online. I remember I couldn't get the background color to change so you can only change to background color white.
1.0 was up to jumper, 1.1 was time mashine, 1.2 was ball,1.3 was xstep, 1.4 was clutterfunk,1.5 was i dont remember, 1.6 was ufo, 1.7 was speed,1.8 was slopes and duels

Is it just me or does people kinda miss the old ericvanwilderman when he used to play a lot of over games besides geometry dash. Don’t get me wrong I do like most of his geometry dash videos it’s just that I hate that he only plays this game now and I want him to play other games like back in the day when he played corpse party and other cool horror games. Anyway that’s just what I think.
I think in 1.0, the only game modes were the cube and ship and gravity portals. In 1.1, Time Machine may have been added which added mirror mode and then 1.2 was Cycles which introduced the ball and so on.
