Man, everyone is so hyped on the new Neca set, and don't get me wrong, they're nice, and packed with accessories; However, these still remind me more of the actual cartoon look. They're supposed to be goofy, and fun loving. I think alot of people forgot about that from the cartoon. These are so underrated! Glad I picked them up.
They are great figures, but i wish they were based on the actual 80's cartoons design instead of the TMNT marketing design..they look great, but i prefer the cartoon look, which NECA nailed perfectly btw
IMO the neca figures have more show accurate sculpts where as the figuarts look more like merchandise designs for the original show that we see today. BUT both lines are probably the best TMNT figures to date for the original show. Along with the 1/4 Movie and Eastman & Laird Neca turtles, and the 1/6 Mondo figures.
@@Blackwolfninja89 they’re pretty great too, the 1989 Konami original is my favorite arcade game ever, but they don’t knock me out the way that the three I listed above do. I kinda think the pixelated paint job on them doesn’t entirely work for three dimensional action figures.
the grappling hook is a nice nod for Mickey, since his nunchucks were swapped out for the hook, later on in the series due to it being changed for the UK animation since nunchucks and the word ninja is deemed to violent over there.
No ball joint on the bandana to pose the knot is a missed opportunity. 6:09 For example, you could have pointed the knot upwards as if Mickey is falling down after the jump you posed right here 13:09 or posing Raph's bandana to the left, making his silhouette in the pose more interesting 13:09, same here for the other turtles 13:32, being able to pose their bandanas to the right or left so you could actually see them in front shots would have been great. A ball joint on the bandana for posing is a small detail, but small details count the most in the end.
I was literally watching a bunch of your TMNT reviews last night and thinking, huh, maybe he skipped on SHF Mikey and Raph. I wake up and here they are. Lol
Hey Dan, I'm just wondering, since the newer turtle series' do crossovers to the '89 cartoon and the Mirage comics, how do these turtles scale with the Revoltech Nick Turtles and the Neca B&W?
Yep $50 is about right. Cheapest I ever got was Fourze's cycle and that was a little over $20. Figure cheap well Fourze and KyoRyuRed were under $30. Most expensive wax Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms. He was $55 and worth it as I got the first release bonus and was not expecting it. These and the Revoltech will be my turtle focus on figs. Man if ever get the 200x turtles in this way be great. Also awaiting the Shredder and be warned expect him to have sharp edges as recalling Kamen Rider Bravo giving Spikor a run for pointy spikes king. Now hope continues with Splinter, Bebop, Rocksteady and April (needs some extra parts a plenty though)
Why did I *know* you were going to _incorrectly_ holster those nunchucks with the chain links on TOP, instead of hanging DOWN... -__- They're actually *upside-down* this way - because if you were to place them on your OWN back, you'd find it easier and more practical grabbing/sliding them out from the bottom/DOWNWARDS - *the PROPER way* - otherwise the chains would get in the way!
Dan is time to update your video, in witch you compare all the lines of turtles there are, and maybe think about to review U. Kratos,😅. Great video. I'm hoping for the SH Figuarts shreder. Be careful with the grammar check points all over RUclips😁.
Anybody know how to tell the bootleg Raphael from the original? There are different kinds of bootlegs. There are those that look really bad. But there are those that are very close to the original. However, even if they are close, there are still some tell-tale signs. Anybody care to share?
Technically there have been depictions in the show of them being stored in the back, although it is not the typical place. I really wish they would have made Raph unique, and placed his holders correctly, even though I don't quite see how they could have. I think it was necessary in order to keep the torso articulation in tact.
@nicholighkun, indeed the original Mirage comic stories have Raphael storing his Sais behind his shell a majority of the time. I too, would liked to see him with the holders on the front of his belt. Still this a really nice figure. I cannot help but wonder if Playmates has any figures planned in the style of the 2007 CGI animated movie since this year marks its 10th anniversary.
Actually in the crossover episode where the 2012 turtles meet the 87 cartoon ones, 87 Raphael had his sai in the back. Plus it was probably easier to do it this way.
Aaron Rainge eh most iterations are in the front, including the first movie. and couldn't have been too difficult to mold the front part of the belt to have a couple small loops or raised up a little. not a big deal just would have made it that much more authentic.
Not surprising to me but these are not selling too well. My comic book shop has the Leo and Donne figures and they were willingly going to give me a price cut and literally said these aren't moving well. A lot of people may disagree with me and some already have but I still like the Playmates version that was shown here in comparison better. For the price point it's a much better figure in my opinion. The only reason I would get these is if they release the Shredder since the Playmates version cancelled theirs.
i always love Bandai , SH Figuarts stuff not to say other toy company are bad they try but they don't deserve hate , SH Figuarts they are more famous on Godzilla / anime figures they always get everything right with their figures I got a some bandai stuff not any SH Figuarts stuff because im not ready to get some figures of SH Figuarts and they too much for me ,some times, I would have to buy 200 dollars to get all 4 tmnt figures but its good because these deserve that kind of price , and people that are closer would get them cheaper but im in austraila and theirs not a lot SH Figuarts or Bandai figures . I only can some online , thats alright I will wait as long if these guys don't go rare wich its getting closer but easy to get cheaper , I might get one out a time
These are cool, but so pricey. They aren't $50 either. Try $65-70...I've even seen $80! I've bought a few SH figures in the past, but these cost way more than normal.
Man TMNT figure overkill. There are a ton of great figures already out there. I already own like 4 different sets. These look alright, but in general who needs these?
In case you didn't know, the male peg end of a Tamashii stand fits in the center peg hole in their backs so you can do dynamic leaping/flying poses.

These figures are pretty sweet! Plus, I love how they got a retro look to them.

mmf1396 everything neca breaks when the wind blows hard
DAN! You forgot to mention the shell articulation! The people need to know!
Pixel dan:has torso articulation.
Revotech turtles:are we a joke to you?
Neca’s classic comic turtles, Neca’s 1990 movie turtles and these SH Figuarts cartoon turtles. The three greatest TMNT figure sets ever.
Don't forget the arcade TMNT figures from NECA.

So excited for these 2
Leo's my favorite but I'm sold on getting Mikey. His accessories are my favored.
These look really awesome, they really got the 80s cartoon vibe. Hoping to get my Raph ASAP!
the grappling hook is a nice nod for Mickey, since his nunchucks were swapped out for the hook, later on in the series due to it being changed for the UK animation since nunchucks and the word ninja is deemed to violent over there.
I love the quality, but miss figures being $2.99-$5.99 and having action features and loads of vehicles to buy.
mannnn you just took me back lol. Damn we're old bruh lol
Do you think they may have accidentally swapped the two because Michelangelo's face expression looks more like Rafael's and vice versa.

Hey Dan, I'm just wondering, since the newer turtle series' do crossovers to the '89 cartoon and the Mirage comics, how do these turtles scale with the Revoltech Nick Turtles and the Neca B&W?
Now we just need Shredder, Splinter, Casey Jones, Bebop & Rocksteady and so on.

And you can do the wolverine sai hold btw

WoW, all together looks awesome :O
Which set do you all prefer: NECA or SH Figuarts?

It got cancelled
wow I love the Raphael figure
How come toon turtle Ralph dose not have red sais
In the '87 show, Raphael's sais were on the front side of his belt, not the back
True but in the 2012 series when the 2012 turtles meet with the 1987 turtles, he has them on the back.
@@Blackwolfninja89 NERD!
are these better than the neca sdcc set? I'm looking into getting some but don't know which to hunt down
depends if you want more articulation over comic book accurate figures
Should I wait until they go down in price or buy them?
SH Figuarts sells out quickly. Don't sleep on these.
these are awesome. what figure stand do you use?
Ronnie Wilsoncroft they dont need a stand they stand on their own
Pixel dan is awesome

Check the paint job, real ones rarely have paint issues
"Finally,It's Pizza Time"
but in the cartoon raph had his sies in the front
This figures are so sensacional!
😀😀😀😀
With Raphael his weapon holder is not right its supposed to be on the front

i kinda wish these were 40 bucks..
man, they're great. When they will make 2003 ????????
No Thanks, I'll stick with Neca!!
these should be like $30
true, but expesnive hobby :( i collect also games, manga and need from time to ime PC hardware. damn thats expesive all together :D
I only paid $24 for Injustice Harley Quinn. I will NOT pay more than $24 for any action figure.
they are 40 at Amazon... big bad toy store their for 60 plus tax plus shipping..soooooo yeah
Flint McFreely where?

in 2014 you made a vid about 3 pack turtles and leo had a apron witch said ninja pizza that's a reference to the 1989 pilot episode
THAT'S NOT A _CONFUSED_ LOOK (ON MIKEY), THAT'S *CONFIDENT/COCKY!*
Hey pistol Dan how your day can me come friends
hi
These are cool, but so pricey. They aren't $50 either. Try $65-70...I've even seen $80! I've bought a few SH figures in the past, but these cost way more than normal.
Horrorman youre not only right about the prices, but you also have a great profile picture brother!
How much do they cost
64 USD
Thanks
Man TMNT figure overkill. There are a ton of great figures already out there. I already own like 4 different sets. These look alright, but in general who needs these?
I do.
Dude couldn't he just do all 4 of them in one video
captain marvel the other to were released before these two.
американцы, и их отсталая метрическая система. Дюймы.... лол
Way overpriced!!!
@Steve Vento yea found one of raph for 20$
do you even watch the show? " Turtle grape hook" "extra weapon"?
the prefer the playmates, they're better.
Me, too. I also picked up the 1990 movie version of Donnie for $10 who looks amazing. Far better than these figures.
If you prefer inferior product, then more power to you.
the only thing thats inferior is your brain
Mad Maxx your dumb. these are the destination ever.
is that english?
