I like that American GFS map. Lots of info. Been meaning to ask about the significance of the 576 pressure contour line. Never heard another forecaster talk about that line. Thanks for your detailed forecast Rod.
Not yet with any depth. Only that it's supposed to be a cold one iirc. I seem to remember him saying he doesn't do the winter general forecast until October. I could be wrong though.
Anyone else really intensely dislike indian summer? Someone please get mother nature to give a BIG trough and send the ridge far far away! I hate it being 85 degrees in october when the normal high is supposed to be 70! Wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't every F'ing year, but this would be the third year in a row!
Thank you Rod for your forecast!
The last 2 Octobers have had record-breaking high temps in the first week. I won’t be packing up my ac for at least another month😣
Hey Rod it's great getting this kind of detail, keep up the great work!
Glad you are watching - thank you!
Like many folks have said the warm October was two years ago. Was an awesome October to be working outside. Especially doing underground work.

Old school forecasting rule.
Looks like El Nino doesn't want to give up yet.
Well, we are Neutral currently and waiting for possible La Nina to arrive.
Have you done winter Outlook yet?

Working on the data and hope to publish mid-October.
