Gastro circuit reduces hunger drain by 15%
Super-processing circuit has a sanity regen of 2 per minute
Thermal circuit will increase spoilage timers of stuff in inventory by 25% and radiate heat

The gastro decreases hunger by 33% (so 50 hunger lost every day instead of 75) also the electrified circuit from voltgoats makes you immune to lightning

Golden, I think you're talking full gastro set. Not just one like I mentioned. Also, immune to lightning? How and why on Earth would that make any sense for WX?! 😅
I think this is amazing. It gives players far more customizability with the character and lets them decide what they want to spec more points into. Or you could just mass produce the required circuits and change them based on the task at hand. Like maximum health for tanking combat, light/night vision and sanity for exploring the caves, or hunger for exploring. Personally that's how I'd use them. I wouldn't really bother with movement speed unless I was exploring early game or needed it for a boss fight where speed is key.
You'll need to recharge over and over and over again though. Remember that!
@@TheBeard777 well couldn't a wicker or Winona help with that? And it'd make having multiple lightning rods more viable as well, as it is now its a hassle but not an insurmountable one if you play with a group

@@Brian-tn4cd even less of a hassle cuz the gem erator gives a ton of power even though you lose sanity from it so the only problem will be sanity don't know why It wasn't working in the video
Not everyone plays with other people, Brain, but with character switching I suppose things can smooth over. As for the G.E.M.erator, yeah, not sure why it wasn't working for me here as it is a great option to speed things up a bit.

If we get an animation, it could lead to some info on Wagstaff since the guy is really an unknown for us. It could lead to Wagstaff getting into the character pool but would be a hard-light hologram like the one we see when going through the Lunar Storm event.
This is amazing. He's got a lot on his kit now and also has a good drawback, same as before.
A character with pros and cons as it should be. Very nice.
i love every bit of this update apart from the fact that you can lose charge and i feel like we need 8 charge slots instead of 6
I feel like we should be able to choose how many and which circuits we take off.
I feel like some of those upgrades are a little on the large size, like some of the one that take up 2, could just take one and be balanced and so on, like the parts are already more expensive to get anyway, why should they be more expensive to install
what if eating gears gave you more, maybe up to 10? maybe thats too much...
i was originally going to say what if there was a circuit that gave you more slots but that kinda defeats the purpose.

@@frost_angel7251 i think keeping it at 6 but reducing the requirements is my preference. shooting it up to 8 means you could do somn like 3 accel circuts and 1 hp circut which just sounds kind of... too much objectively better than 90% of characters for my tastes? i think the real problem is the utility centered circuits (the refrigeration, sanity, light stuff, anti freeze, etc ones) take up MORE slots in general than stuff like speed and hp which is just dumb. right now, you'll probably rarely use those and you'll greatly miss the speed sacrifice. i think those should be brought down to 1 slot or 2 and then it'd feel much better.
Im a WX-78 main, but i didnt expect it to be like this, i mean its a bit harder now but thats what makes the game fun and it not all bad it adds more complex things and hopefully the wx lore, i really like this
Wowza. WX got wild. A lot of possible customization in how he’s played now, and it’s all pretty cool and flavorful. Never know what to expect with these reworks.

It's crazy because he can literally be a tank now lol, Give him Marble/Thulecite Armor + Thulecite Crown and make hin agroo a boss and tank him while something like WolfGang delivers the DPS.

This update seems amazing to me. It's very creative, and has tons of potential in terms of variety. It's just unique, which I love, and I look forward to just exploring and experimenting with all these new toys.
With tuning, it might be one of the best yet. It needs help in its current state though. Mixing and matching isn't user friendly right now.

I love this update for WX. WX is one of my favourite characters. Given how simply their gameplay are to me. This update just lets you do all of the previous things at a cost, and more. Amazing! Love this one. Klei is straight up spoiling me with WX. I hope there is more update and a better way for us to upgrade the slots later if possible. As more options, gives us more fun and customization to the gameplay.

This is just purely amazing I hope wx never needs another rework again this one is too good to lose this is the best and beautiful rework out of them all.

The more and more I watch the beta the more impatient I get for this to release!
Im glad they're updating wx, he's been left alone for a while, altough the rework seems a bit.....overloaded, to me at least. It's cool don't get me wrong, I just don't feel like it's the right one, everyone seems to have these whole new mechanic on their rework......wx was one of the simple character that you play when you want to keep it casual. Personally I would like to still have some simple survivor.

Finally, after only playing wx for years waiting/hoping for a rework that's good and I get this? Now this is epic.
Not a bad start. I do think they should alter some of them and add more tiers to the circuits to allow for a bit more customization. Scanning friendly mobs gives circuits that take 4-6 slots. Scanning aggressive mobs give 2-4 and big bads give 1-2 but always required the bosses rare drop or rare gems and Take much longer to scan. Each tier offers a bit more to stats or effect. (T1 25hp, t2 50, t3 100). I do feel like they will need the moggles one to slowly drain electricity, but still function as long as wx has power.
All n all, a very interesting update but I feel bad for new players with him as he seems more complicated.

I love this rework. In fact this may be the best one Klei has released this far. It's simple, but effective and makes WX an actually interesting character.
Of course some tweaks are needed, like some of the circuits need to be better, him losing charges when removing his circuits needs to be tweaked a little and I think lightning needs to charge him fully, but maybe have some sort of drawback (like dealing a lot of damage to him).
Overall, this is pretty solid already. I can't wait to see how it'll evolve from here!
What if WX started with less circuit slots but could get more by eating gears? With a maximum of 8 slots maybe?
I think that this is not a good idea, I mean, all WX players would rush Ruins and get the 8 slots in day five (or almost it)

@@davimendespimentel6849 the problem with gear-eating was that in open server multiplayer WX was a hated character as they might eat 15 gears and quit after 20 minutes, never to be seen again. Multiply that by the amount of WX players joining and the world will be starved of gears. So I think that WX should not upgrade with them, as no other character is required to destroy such valuable items to be able to play well.
You can tell how much he works on these, the videos come out right after don't starve gets updated and he posts 1-2 times per day. (and the videos don't feel rushed)

For a player that tank a lot, I'll probably stick to that 600 health. Overall that and maybe the night vision will probably be the most used ones, the rest are useless over day 100 or so, but I'm glad for this update.
Useless over day 100? What about the bee queens sanity regen or the crab King idk mabye your friends getting mauled by shadows you use the crab king circuit and ta da make them run for a couple minutes and stay with them untill they have high enough sanity to not be bothered by shadows (the running is so the shadows don't get to them)
And bee queen its just nice for something like using dark sword or night lights and if you have 3 bee quen circuits mabye even nightmare armour
(I doubt you can do all 3 at once I mean nightmare armour only takes sanity when you get hit so you could probably use it with dark sword as long as your not getting hit a bunch although its probably more worth it to just use 1 bee queen circuit and then Hardy 2.0 circuits and not use nightmare armour cause there's better armour out there that doesn't take away sanity so) so you sure they (excluding night vision and Hardy 2.0) are all "worthless"

That's a lot cooler than you think, you can easly farm them as WX-78 and it allow you to switch upgrade on the fly.
I'm no WX78 main so I can't say I've had much experience with the guy before all this, but I was pretty well aware of how strong he could become with eating gears and whatnot.
But I hated that system because I'm a coward that never touches the ruins, so I always spent gears on ice boxes and flingos to be most effective with them.
So this new update shifting from that mechanic (mostly) makes this character a thousand times more interesting to me. And the whole "DIY WX" concept is an incredibly fascinating step forward for both this character and the game itself. This was an incredibly good move by Klei.
A few notes on all this though would be to change the effectiveness of lightning when it comes to charges and stuff. That system generally needs a bit of tweaking, but I'm glad that they tried something new and I hope that with more player feedback theyll be able to perfect it more.
We definitely need an increase to how effective some "charge stations" are, yes!
few notes on some of the upgrades
the dronemaster circuit also increases your max sanity to what looks like 350 based on the video (I'm not gonna bother to check whether its 340 or 350 right now) with both circuits
I'm not sure on the cooling circuit since I didn't test it but the heating circuit does actually keep you warm enough to survive even in the dead of winter its just that you'll constantly be on the edge of freezing at 0 degrees but I feel that's a fair trade for 3 whole extra slots
(this actually kinda reminds me of Wagstaff where if you want to be optimal you wear the Fryfocals since its infinite goggles just with an orange tint you have to deal with)

the op thing im realising is, just run around and scan a few butterflies and get a decent helmet with a ham bat, and your set to kill most bosses

Called it, I knew WX would get some sort of upgrade.
Klei could also add him to getting a little sanity by killing animals or destroy plants, cause wx hates organics, plus he would also not get harm from food, but also he would not get benefits from it, that would suit him as a robot.
The food bit is already how he’s like, as he doesnt care for spoilage. Dont think thats changing
I honestly liked the gears. But the circuits are a unique and fun idea, so I'm not against them.
I'm definitely interested in the direction this rework takes things, but it does feel like it'll need some tweaking before full release. I can't specify where or what needs tweaking, but that's the feeling I get.

I agree. I don’t think it’s enough but it’s such a good concept. Right now I prefer the gear consumption system more because you aren’t really “limited” to what you can upgrade. Plus constantly having to switch out upgrades because you don’t have any slots seems like it could get really obnoxious.

I agree with beard in a sense that I like about half of the circuits and don't care for the rest. I think it just needs a bit of tweaking to really get there.

Holy shit this is huge, all I was expecting is crafting recipes from gears and gold (maybe even craftable gears) that upgrade base stats, more punishing water penalty and hopefully electrication from lightning rods, but this is amazing
And it's only in its Beta form so who knows how things will look in a week or more?!

I personally don't think the drone really fits the game but the bulbs are a very very neat idea. It would've been better if WX scanned stuff himself. I think they should also increase the cost for some of the bulbs say the moggle vision costing about 2 moles or more.

Could somebody explain to me, please, what happens when you used the stat given by circuit and then remove it? Will your stat decrease and if it will, how? Linearly or percentage-based?

Great video! Two things tho, I feel like scanning glommer might give the heart module too because the goop isn’t “that bad” of a healing item and he gives a sanity aura like the music and speaking of music does it make pigmen want to follow you and does it turn hutch into tropical hutch?
No to both those things as far as I can tell. I tried taming stuff with the chorusbox and even "soothing" spiders with it and nothing happened. It does tend to plants though so there's that.

I feel like players will feel punished by having a limited durability of circuits, which might make switching less rewarding.
yeah, you wouldn't be using other ones, since you spend charges and durability.
you could do a on the run switch to the light one + the music box to support your friends, and then switch to speed and health going to fight, but since it's so expensive to do so, most players will probably use a permanent moogles + health/speed
They need to have the charges, uh, charge up faster.
yeah i feel like they should either increase the durability or just get rid of that mechanic entirely. epically the ones for bosses. if they don't do this it will just turn into a boring reputative meta where all you use is a few circuits like health and never use the other ones
Even without the durability, players will just follow what the meta is, the best circuits ever, rush to get materials for that circuit and never remove them.
Plus, items having durability is kinda what it is in the game. For the most part at least.
Just a small note, your charge/power metar charges up quicker if hunger is high
Is that true? I timed things and it was a solid 1:30 pretty much every level.
@@TheBeard777 I didn´t test it that much and i don´t wanna say something wrong, but i noticed that when my hunger was 80% or above the meter actually charged quicker, but then when it dropped to like 40 hunger i saw the arrows going up much much slower, similarly to Wolfgang(more hunger=less mightines drain) but in Wx´s case its more hunger=quicker recharging.
Also the Refrigerant circuit is actually cooling you down but not in a way as the Thermal circuit is warming you, in order to cool yourself down you have to have a thermal stone in your inventory(because you are basicly a fridge with the "refrigerant" circuit) so you cool the thermal stone and that cools you.
I know having the health, hunger, and sanity be that high was too much, but now there is almost no reason to upgrade hunger or sanity. I think they should add more upgrade slots. Three dedicated to hunger, health, and sanity. But you can either upgrade them as a permanent buff or replace them to give yourself even lower than base stats for something. So the regeneration one would take up the dedicated health slot, and you would need to use the normal slots for more max HP. The music box bulb could cut WX's normal sanity in half. The thermal circuit could replace hunger. Usually, thermal protection drains hunger in mods, but this would drain max hunger. Which I think is interesting.

That does seem like a lot, but as I said, the dedicated charge slots would leave him with lower stats if they are removed. So he would start off with weak bulbs in those three slots that give him his current stats. Then he could upgrade them for a boost to his base stats or remove them for a different buff related to the stat. So you could have lower than normal base hunger and the heating bulb in that slot. I chose that slot because hunger and heat are usually related. So it might be interesting to limit hunger rather than just drain it for heat.
Either way, you can't have all 9 slots dedicated to one stat. Also, it would make wetness even more punishing because even his base stats would be lowered after a while.
Why have a light source circuit and a moggle circuit? The moggle circuit even costs less so whats the point?
One is supposed to be for the team while the other is an individual bonus.

I think getting struck by lightning should still have a greater benefit. Maybe you could get limited access to a few more slots while overcharged, then when the overcharge ends; the circuits break off.

Eating gears should give additional charges
With 600 health and a few marble suits or night armors, you can effectively have 12,000 health.
WX can become the best tank in the game with some work, yes.
I like it but maybe add if he wears armor he is slower or and he cant wear sercuts buy only armor backpacks,strawhats and other things dont effect him

So we scanned everything that gives us circuit to get bio datas. So how we can get more of them? Scan them again?
Yeah, just scan things again. Takes a minute or so and the mobs will be scannable again.

My guess was Wilson from the start but recent posts from Klei themselves may suggest otherwise.
This update is amazing, but I hope charge slot can get expanded in late game with the item from ruin.
I would love to see more variation and possibility to get more circuits at once. I love that you can go super duper fast, but at the same time, why would you choose any other upgrade besides the speed one? That one helps you in so many ways it's unbelievable. An obvious choice would be to remove the speed bonus circuit, but that would be a little sad, they should make it so you can get the speed WITH other things, making it so you don't need to sacrifice everything just to be optimal.
Just my personal thought, because I want to run fast, but also love the other options (except the max hunger one and cooling one, those are kinda meh...)

I have a question about Bio Data. So when you scan a butterfly or a mole you get bio data but when you scaned everything how are you supossed to get more bio data?

My main character is WX-78 when playing solo but as for this remake I think it is useless since clothings, equipment, items and loot drops are enough to sustain a living in the constant. To make this soulless automaton more fearsome is that when WX-78 scans nearby mobs and then defeats it he can copy the ability of that said mods. Like Deerclops if WX-78 scans and kills the boss, he can freeze enemies when hit 5-8 times which defend on the number of circuits. For now his remake is rubbish and must be weaker than Wes. In addition his charges can be a bit hard to utilize since being struck by lightning is not helpful in most cases. Hunger and Changes must be connected together in order to make a balance mechanic.

I love the customization for it, but I wish the charging had more relevance beyond when you're swapping mods
The charging should also be a tad faster and or the ways we get charge via lightning rods and such should be more effective. We have a ton of player choice but a tedious amount of work and waiting (mostly waiting) to get to it.
@@TheBeard777 I don't like the upgrades having durability. It would be neat if instead of charge being a gating mechanism for charge was used to power certain ones like the light or moggles. Take those out and basically have a quick charge mode. Just spitballing.

I'd like to see some over-clock slots. Say, for each slot you go over, you take 10 extra damage, after armor. Or when you take them off you take 100 damage. More reward for more risk

I like the rework but my only problem with it is the durability cost when swapping them out. Its gonna make me use a set that i will rarely change unless i have too
And it'll likely make folk stick to their favorite circuit set without ever switching.
This is a truly awesome rework and makes WX Perhaps the most unique character only behind Wanda. The only thing I don't like about it is a complete lack of a major downside. There's so much you can do as a downside for a robot character, and it was a missed potential in my opinion. They could've at least decreased WX's maximum stats to like, 100 each.

Hmm. I don't see a lot of players seeking to increase their maximum sanity or hunger? They should make those slow down hunger/sanity loss as well as increase the maximum to make them more worthwhile.
