Whiplash had a hilarious run this year at AGDQ, worth looking up the VOD for it. As for a star wars side scrolling beat-em up, I remember having fun with the Star Wars Episode 3 game on the GBA, though I remember breaking the game because Obi-Wan had an ability that made him temporarily invincible, and if you leveled him up enough it had basically 100% uptime
The Star Wars: Episode III game on GBA is an actual good side scrolling beat 'em up, so play that instead of Jedi Power Battles if you want a good Star Wars themed brawler. Plus, it has Co-op missions based on Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars microseries from 2003, which is neat, since that series was awesome.

The Battle LA movie really threw me off as a resident of Santa Monica. The directions they give don’t make any sense like “we’re on Olympic and headed north! We’ll rendezvous at Pico!” (Pico is south of Olympic). Since most film studios are in the LA region, I thought that the writers would have been more accurate.
You'd be amazed how many of the infamously horrible LJN games for the NES were developed by Atlus. From Karate Kid to Persona 5 is certainly a journey.
I remember needing a gameshark to beat Jedi Power Battles (gave myself infinite credits) and it was impossible to clear it as Plo Koon because his combos were so slow, he couldn't hit Darth Maul, who always parries the first hit of every combo you make. Hey, a Midtown Maddness 2 reference. My parents got that game for my older brother and I would always play it on our old Gateway computer. I would just drive around the city. We would eventually get the PS2 GTA games which blew it out of the water.
Jedi Power Battles is a good game. It is a beat 'em up, difficult, but fun. Three buttons for different lightsaber attacks with unlockable combos, multiple characters with different combat styles, unlockable characters, minigames and game modes. You can unlock "ultimate lightsaber" mode in which you will kill everyone with one hit. Good game, one of the best Star Wars games, in my opinion.

Jedi power battles was a terrible game and I'm glad you covered it, people defend that game for reasons I don't get.
