Yet another great American plane being retired. It’s funny that you post this because just yesterday, I drove by Pinal Airpark near Tucson yesterday and saw a whole bunch of them mothballed by the road there.
Amazing video man. It's always sad to see an aircraft retire from service, No matter how big or small. I remember taking one trip back in 2018 with American on the E-140. I unknowingly also flew on two other aircraft during that trip that have sadly also departed AA's fleet. The MD-80 and Boeing 757-200.
@@ASAviation Every time I go to CMI terminal and I am out at the fence, the ground crew or the police ask me what are you doing with that camera? And I mean come on, Camera + Airplanes = pictures & videos.
Something I'm not seeing discussed--for the casual avgeek such as I--if one doesn't care about tail numbers or booking codes on AA's website, how does one identify a 140 from the exterior or seating arrangement once onboard? I do see the 140 is slightly shorter than the 145. I'm not an uber 140-geek as you are but your pride in the subject is obvious--do you have any footage of AE's 140/145 fleet starting /shutting down their engines from the outside at CMI? Something I never see from my limited experience--very few pilots will use reverse thrust although have seen a YT landing of an AE 145 at HOU, reverse thrust very noticeable. Is AE the only carrier at CMI?
140 has 44 seats while the 145 has 50. 140 has 16 rows of seats while the 145 has 18 rows and that would be apparent via the seat map. From the exterior the two look very similar but the 140 is noticeably shorter. Yes I have plenty of videos of planes starting up and taxiing out but not so much shutting down. AE is the only airline at CMI.
It’s impossible to know because they’re flying on E145 routes, but the 140 doesn’t show up on the schedule/booking sites anymore so you can only fly one by pure luck now. There’s only 2 left flying.

Oh cool, yeah all of them will be stored in MZJ. Must be a sight to see!
It was interesting for sure

R.I.P. for the Embraer 140 and the MD-80 :C
Bye American E140s we will miss you 😟😢
Rest in Peace E140
Nice! I’ll probably only ever see them in a museum, it’s sad airlines are retiring all these beautiful aircraft first the 747 now these…
I doubt AA will preserve any...I wish they would've kept one in the old livery!
Farewell American E140s 😭
RIP AA E140s 2000-2021
At 30:10 is 100% true, a ton of people mostly are like "what in the heck is that man doing"
For real...

Good riddance. Working on these were a nightmare.

This was a great video! I know you have a big connection with this aircraft type as they fly out of Champagne, sad to see it go
Thanks a lot mate, yeah it’s just like your connection to the BA 747 I guess you could say!
